In this present study, the synthesis of 4-(benzyloxy)biphenyl has been successfully carried out using 4-phenylphenol and benzyl chloride in the presence of ultrasonic power (40 kHz, 300W) along with synthesized multi - site phase - transfer catalyst viz., N1,N2-dibenzyl-N1,N1,N2,N2-tetramethylethane-1,2-diaminium dibromide (MPTC). The pseudo first-order kinetic equation has been applied to describe the organic reaction. The various kinetic parameters on the preparation of 4-(benzyloxy)biphenyl has been carried out under ultrasonic frequency condition and synthesized multi - site phase transfer catalyst. Sonication has resulted in better selectivity, high yield, avoids the use of the high temperature, side products and reduces the time consumption. The activation energy (Ea) has been calculated from the experimental results

820-828The aim of the study is to find out a suitable combination of supplements for the successful production of shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. The experiment was performed in two different shrimp farms located in the same area at Athirampattinam (Farm-A) and (Farm-B), Tamil Nadu, East coast of India. Each group consisted of three ponds, farm-A supplemented with probiotic, immunostimulant and molasses. Subsequently, farm-B was supplemented with chemicals and probiotics. The shrimp average body weight (23.2 ± 0.41 g) survival (84 ± 0.05 %) and production (6.98 tons/ha) was significantly higher (P ) in farm-A than the farm-B. The water parameters such as temperature, pH, salinity, transparency, dissolved oxygen, total ammonia, nitrite, total plate count and Vibrio population were significantly varied between these two farms. The safe water quality parameter values were obtained in farm-A. Henceforth, the present study was concluded that the supplementation of probiotic, immunostimulant and molasses combination enhanced the shrimp production

Construction of 3-amino-9-ethylcarbazole scaffold for multifunctional applications: Chemosensor for copper(II) ions along with antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity

This work describes the fabrication of a carbazole derivative 1 namely (E)-5-(diethylamino)-2-((9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)imino)methyl)phenol(1) based colorimetric probe for the selective detection of copper (II) ions. The as-prepared carbazole derivative was characterized using various spectral techniques including UV–visible absorption, Emission, FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectra. The colorimetric chemosensing potential of the synthesized carbazole derivative 1 to detect Cu2+ ions in a solution of different cations at different emission wavelengths based on photo-induced electron transfer (PET) mechanism was undertaken. In addition, the probe 1 showed significant DPPH scavenging activity. Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities of the carbazole derivative 1 were also assessed. The selectivity of probe 1 towards Cu2+ ions could be exploited to reduce copper induced toxicity
