The pandemic underscored the risks and vulnerability of the tourism sector. The study aims to analyze the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism sector in Central Visayas. The pandemic cases in the region, tourist arrivals, affected establishments, tourism-related businesses, and displaced workers were the key indicators that researchers looked into in this study. This study utilized a descriptive method. The investigation was carried out in Central Visayas, Philippines. Secondary data sources were used from a review of records from government agencies to descriptively analyze the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism sector of the region. The results show that Central Visayas is among the top regions with the most Covid -19 cases reported; the high positivity rate led to stricter community quarantine protocol which affected the tourist arrival of both the local and foreign markets. The lockdown also resulted in the closure of some accommodation, f & b, and entertainment industries, leading to a massive displacement of workers in the region

This study looked into the influence of the motivational factors among foreign and local tourists who availed the VHO-partnered hotels in Cebu City. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational design to look into the level of influence on the factors of (a) ease of navigation, (b) opportunity to earn points and rewards, (c) availability of affordable pricing, and (d) simplicity of reservation process and varied mode of payments. Three hundred thirty-nine 339 tourists participated in this study. The results showed that level of influence is on the highest degree, while on the difference foreign tourists’ traveling for business and leisure show no significant difference. On one hand, local tourists traveling for business and leisure revealed a significant difference. Furthermore, the comparison of the level of influence between local and foreign tourists, in general, showed a noteworthy significant difference. Further study of VHO in a different setting is recommended to get a better generalization on the VHO topic.

Brownian motion of a charged particle driven internally by correlated noise

We give an exact solution to the generalized Langevin equation of motion of a charged Brownian particle in a uniform magnetic field that is driven internally by an exponentially-correlated stochastic force. A strong dissipation regime is described in which the ensemble-averaged fluctuations of the velocity exhibit transient oscillations that arise from memory effects. Also, we calculate generalized diffusion coefficients describing the transport of these particles and briefly discuss how they are affected by the magnetic field strength and correlation time. Our asymptotic results are extended to the general case of internal driving by correlated Gaussian stochastic forces with finite autocorrelation times.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures with subfigures, RevTeX, v2: revise

Performance level of sales force automation system in a logistics and distribution company

    Get PDF
Logistics and distribution companies turned their interests to using sales force automation (SFA) in their business operations as technology is now a widely used tool that allows fast and efficient operations. A descriptive design was used in this study, and inventory, sales monitoring, and distribution process are the key indicators used to measure the performance of the sales force automation. The results show that the SFA system was perceived as good, with a 4.0 weighted mean. Internet connectivity was the major challenge in the utilization of SFA. Continuous system improvement is recommended to maximize the utilization of the system

This document defines the methodology for standardizing the normative management model of CENS - Grupo EPM. Todevelop this methodology, a diagnosis of the current model was conducted using a structured questionnaire that determined the extent of thestaff´s knowledge of policy management. Applied normative elements and implemented management systems were also analyzed, identifyingthose requirements that can be fulfilled through regulatory means. Finally, the current regulatory model of CENS was compared with themodel of other electrical companies in Colombia and Mexico, highlighting flaws that require adaptations to the current regulatory model. Those adaptations will contribute to the successful execution of the processes and will help to meet the requirements of the managementsystems, all of which aim to strengthen the rules regarding the four regulatory elements discussed in Bussines Process ManagementEl presente documento define la metodología para la estandarización del modelo normativo de CENS - Grupo EPM, para suconstrucción se realizó un diagnóstico del modelo actual aplicando un cuestionario estructurado que determinó el grado de conocimiento delpersonal sobre la Gestión Normativa, así mismo, se analizaron los elementos normativos aplicados y los sistemas de gestión implementados, identificando requisitos a los que pueda darse cumplimiento a través de elementos normativos, finalmente se comparó el modelo normativoactual de CENS con el modelo de otras empresas del sector eléctrico en Colombia y en México, evidenciando falencias que requerían adecuarel modelo normativo actual a fin que se convierta en un aporte para la operacionalización de los procesos y permita cumplir los requisitosestablecidos en los sistemas de gestión, por lo que se propone consolidar las normas en cuatro elementos normativos con enfoque BussinesProcess Managment
