A Safe Protocol for Amalgam Removal

    Get PDF
Today's environment has different impacts on our body than previous generations. Heavy metals are a growing concern in medicine. Doctors and individuals request the removal of their amalgam (silver mercury) restorations due to the high mercury content. A safe protocol to replace the silver mercury filling will ensure that there is minimal if any absorption of materials while being removed. Strong alternative white composite and lab-processed materials are available today to create a healthy and functioning mouth. Preparation of the patient prior to the procedure and after treatment is vital to establish the excretion of the mercury from the body

A Return of the Threshing Ring? A Case Study of Machinery and Labor-Sharing in Midwestern Farms

    Get PDF
Machinery-sharing provides an alternative for smaller producers to obtain the efficiencies of large farming operations and remain competitive in an increasingly concentrated agricultural industry. This research uses a multiple case study design to examine the motivations for sharing equipment and labor among farms and to better understand how group members handle the transaction costs of sharing. Our case evidence finds that in addition to cost savings, access to reliable labor is an important motivation for participating in a sharing arrangement. Trust and frequent communication among group members helps to minimize the transaction costs incurred from sharing.machinery sharing, transaction costs, farm-level cooperation, Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Community/Rural/Urban Development, Crop Production/Industries, Farm Management, Financial Economics, Labor and Human Capital, Land Economics/Use, Production Economics, Productivity Analysis, Research and Development/Tech Change/Emerging Technologies, Q12, Q13,

Fel Oscillators with Tapered Undulators: Inclusion of Harmonic Generation and Pulse Propagation

We review the theory of FEL oscillators operating with tapered undulators. We consider the case of a uniform tapering and introduce a parameter which characterizes the effect of the tapering on the gain and on the saturation intensity. We analyze the effect of the tapering on the FEL dynamics by including the pulse propagation effects too. We analyze the importance of tapering as a tool to model the optical pulse shapes and to control the higher harmonic intensities

Sr 2 IrO 4 magnetic phase diagram, from resistivity

International audienceWe show that the transition to the antiferromagnetic state in zero magnetic field does show up in the transverse resistivity, for which we point out the possibility for a direct spin orientation effect. In an applied field, we propose that the transition is split into two lines, corresponding to in-plane and out-of-plane magnetic ordering. This picture is corroborated by transverse magnetization measurements. The magnetic phase diagram for Sr2IrO4 was investigated, using the angular dependence of the resistivity transverse to the IrO2 planes
