The effect of hydroxyethyl starch as a priming solution for cardiopulmonary bypass on renal function

The inflammatory response, the usage of the blood and blood products intraoperatively and postoperatively have a significant effect on renal insufficiency. With the usage of Hydroxyethyl starch (HES), inflammatory response and usage of blood and blood products decreased in many researches and therefore HES can reduce the risk of renal insufficiency.
