High quality web site has been generally recognized as a critical enabler to conduct online business. Numerous studies exist in the literature to measure the business performance in relation to web site quality. In this paper, an axiomatic design based approach for fuzzy group decision making is adopted to evaluate the quality of e-learning web sites. Another multi-criteria decision making technique, namely fuzzy TOPSIS, is applied in order to validate the outcome. The methodology proposed in this paper has the advantage of incorporating requirements and enabling reductions in the problem size, as compared to fuzzy TOPSIS. A case study focusing on Turkish e-learning websites is presented, and based on the empirical findings, managerial implications and recommendations for future research are offered

Thesis (Master)--İzmir Institute of Technology, Chemistry, İzmir, 2011Includes bibliographical references (leaves: 49-52)Text in English; Abstract: Turkish and Englishxii, 52 leavesThe use of quantum dots as fluorescent labels in bioimaging is the most intensively studied subject. The aim of this study is to elucidate locations of quantum dots and track their motions in real time through confocal microscopy and to evaluate influence of surface chemistry on diffusions of quantum dots in live cells. In this study, trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) capped CdSxSe1-x quantum dots were synthesized and then TOPO molecules were exchanged with 3-mercaptopropionic acid and N-acetyl-Lcysteine to make quantum dots water dispersible for cellular imaging. Human lung adenocarcinoma epithelial cells (A549) and human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) were incubated 1 hour with CdSxSe1-x quantum dots with a concentration range of 1-10 g/mL. Localizations and real time motions of quantum dots were tracked by a spinning disc confocal microscope. The center of fluorescent spots of quantum dots was determined by 2D Gaussian fitting with a sub-pixel resolution (<100nm/pixel). The mean square displacements, diffusion coefficients and trajectories in which quantum dots made motions were analyzed by the software ImageJ with a plug in Spot Tracker. Confocal images showed that both MPA and NAC cappped quantum dots were observed in the cytoplasm of cells. Trajectories of quantum dots in cellular environment demonstrated that the quantum dots performed various types of motions in live cells. Unimodal, trimodal and multimodal distribution histograms of the diffusion coefficeints were obtained for different capping agents (MPA and NAC) and cell types (A549 and BEAS-2B). We conclude that the surface chemistry regulates the motion of the quantum dots in the cellular environment

The aims of this study were to find out the feedbacks from teachers used in students' after school mathematical activities and the effects of these feedbacks on students' achievement and attitude. The study was implemented with 70 students in a public school in the district of Aydın through the academic year of 2013-2014. Survey technique was used to realize the first aim of the study andquasi-experimental methodology was applied to realize the second aim of the study. In this experimental model, the study was carried out with an experimental and control group. At first step of the study, fractions achievement test and mathematics attitude test were applied both experimental and control groups as a pre-test to determinethe preliminary achievementand the attitude of the students. During the study, feedback was given to experimental group however it was not given to control group. At the end of the process, fractions achievement test and mathematics attitude test applied as a post-test for both groups to see the effectiveness of the study and to compare the results.Descriptive statistics is applied to summarize the survey results. Also, t-testswere calculated to compare the results from both groups.A significance level of .05 was undertaken when considering the resultsof the research. As a result of the survey part of the research ,it was found thatthe most frequent type of feedback thatteachers use is "Scoring assessment" (X ̅=4,25). Respectivelythe least frequent type offeedback that teachers use is "Writing developmental notes on assessments" (X ̅=1,49).According to the experimental results of the study, it was found a significant difference between experimental and control groups regarding mathematicalacgievement and attitude tests score in favour of experimental group

In this study, it is aimed to determine the effect of the layered curriculum activities on students\u27 academic achievement and retention of learning and to determine the students\u27 views regarding the applied program. The research was carried out with random experimental model with pretest-posttest control group. In addition to quantitative data, qualitative data were collected through the interview method and quantitative data were explained and deepened in this way. The study group of the research was composed of 24 students who were studying in 10th grade of the “information technologies” field in a vocational and technical high school in a city center of Turkey in 2014-2015 academic year. The data of the research were collected by the achievement test and semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher. As a result of the research, it was observed that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the averages obtained from the posttest and permanance test of the students in the experimental group where the activities based on the layered curriculum were applied and the students in the control group where the activities based on the existing program were applied. Students stated generally positive opinions about the layered curriculum process

Today, the importance of education has increased even more in terms of raising qualified individuals. According to researches on the development of upper mental skills and abilities, it has been found out that students who are actively involved in the learning process learn beter. In result of information interactions, treasury is changing and increasing. To adjust to this changing, people have to improve their skills and abilities effectively; hence, various methods and techniques have been developed in education. One of them is quantum learning which a model is becoming widespread. This research includes a literature review regarding quantum learning model and suggestions given light of the related literature
