Tesis inédita de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Facultad de Ciencias Matemáticas, Departamento de Análisis Matemático y Matemática Aplicada, leída el 28-09-2021The title of this dissertation encompasses the study of two disparate topics that have been worked on. All the results that have been obtained in this dissertation, as the fruit of three years of tedious work, are related to the following fields within Mathematical Analysis: • Algebraic genericity and lineability: This is the study of the algebraic structure within certain sets in a linear space or an algebra. In this sense, we study lineability and algebrability problems of sequences spaces and series. Just as, for the class of real singular functions on the unit interval. This topich as shown to be extremely fruitful in the last decade and this resulted in the American Mathematical Society introducing references 15A03 : Vector spaces, linear dependence, rank, lineability.46B87 : Lineability in functional analysis.in its latest Mathematical Subject Classification 2020...El título de esta tesis engloba el estudio de dos temas fundamentales en los que se ha trabajado en los últimos años.

Performance assessment of an architecture with adaptative interfaces for people with special needs

People in industrial societies carry more and more portable electronic devices (e.g., smartphone or console) with some kind of wireles connectivity support. Interaction with auto-discovered target devices present in the environment (e.g., the air conditioning of a hotel) is not so easy since devices may provide inaccessible user interfaces (e.g., in a foreign language that the user cannot understand). Scalability for multiple concurrent users and response times are still problems in this domain. In this paper, we assess an interoperable architecture, which enables interaction between people with some kind of special need and their environment. The assessment, based on performance patterns and antipatterns, tries to detect performance issues and also tries to enhance the architecture design for improving system performance. As a result of the assessment, the initial design changed substantially. We refactorized the design according to the Fast Path pattern and The Ramp antipattern. Moreover, resources were correctly allocated. Finally, the required response time was fulfilled in all system scenarios. For a specific scenario, response time was reduced from 60 seconds to less than 6 seconds

33rd International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, celebrado en 2021 en Pittsburgh, USAThe General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the core of digital privacy legislation across Europe (EU), and it applies to processing carried out by organisations operating within and outside the EU that offer goods or services to individuals in the EU, including software products. Nevertheless, software teams are generally unaware of the legal requirements for personal data protection and its application throughout the software life cycle. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive guidance to integrate compliance with GDPR requirements within the Unified Software Development Process (UP) across the entire lifetime.Work funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science (RTI2018- 095255-B-I00) and the R&D programme of Madrid (P2018/TCS-4314)

Aim of study: In a social context of increasing concern about healthy diets, the development of new varieties with enhanced content in nutraceutical compounds is an important objective of the fruit breeding programs currently developed. In this sense, apricot is a fruit crop very appreciated by consumers worldwide due to its organoleptic characteristics, but also plays an important role in human nutrition due to its content of phytocompounds as sugars, organic acids, vitamins and polyphenols. Area of study: The identification of sources of variation for these traits could be useful for apricot breeding worldwide. Material and methods: New selections from the apricot breeding program carried out at the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIA, Spain) and traditional varieties have been analysed aimed at identifying sources of genetic variation for fruit quality. For this purpose, sugar content, organic acids and ascorbic acid were studied during three crop years. Main results: Results revealed sucrose and glucose as the major sugars, malic and citric acid as the main organic acids, and diverse ascorbic acid content among the cultivars studied. Research highlights: Some accessions point as potential sources to increase fruit quality. In addition, the study showed that apricot peel is an excellent source of nutraceutical compounds. Moreover, this study opens up new possibilities to study the genetic control of these traits in apricot in the future

34th International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering. Pittsburgh, USA July 1 - July 10, 2022Petri nets are a popular formalism to model and analyse concurrent systems. They can be combined with software product lines to support the specification of concurrent system families, like variants of controllers, process models, or configurations of flexible assembly lines. Specifically, a Petri net product line (PNPL) comprises a (black and white) Petri net decorated with variability inscriptions, and a feature model controlling the derivation of admissible nets of the family. However, the derivable nets cannot be reconfigured at runtime, and the techniques to analyse properties of such reconfigurations are limited. To tackle these issues, we present a method to embed a PNPL into a standard Coloured Petri net. This embedding permits using the extensive simulation and analysis capabilities of powerful tools like CPN Tools, and enables the reconfiguration of the product nets at run-time. In this paper, we report on the translation of PNPLs into Coloured Petri nets, characterize the properties that can be analysed with this translation, and describe tool support on the basis of a case study in the area of flexible production systems.Work funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science (RTI2018-095255-B-I00) and the R&D programme of Madrid (P2018/TCS-4314)

Extensible Structural Analysis of Petri Net Product Lines

Petri nets are a popular formalism to represent concurrent systems. However, their standard form does not o er variability support to model and e ectively analyse large sets of variants of a given system. For this purpose, we propose a notion of product line of Petri nets to represent a set of similar concurrent systems. The formalization enriches Petri nets with a feature model characterizing the variability of the systems. Moreover, places, transitions and arcs can de ne presence conditions that determine the subset of system variants they belong to. To enable an e cient analysis of the set of all net variants, we have lifted several structural analysis methods for Petri nets, to the product line level. Currently, we support the lifted checking of the marked graph, state-machine, and (extended) free-choice properties, which avoids their analysis on each particular net of the product line in isolation. We demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal using examples in the domain of exible assembly lines, and introduce an extensible tool infrastructure. The tool is based on Eclipse and FeatureIDE, and permits adding new analysis methods externally. Moreover, we present an evaluation that shows the e ciency gains of our method with respect to an enumerative approach that analyses the properties on every net within the product line separately.Work funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science (RTI2018-095255-B-I00) and the R&D programme of Madrid (P2018/TCS-4314)
