A DUPLA JORNADA DE MULHERES INSERIDAS NO MERCADO DE TRABALHO TURÍSTICO EM ARACAJU-SE

Essa pesquisa está inserida nas reflexões sobre igualdade de gênero, partindo do seguinte problema: como a mulher inserida no mercado de trabalho turístico de Aracaju-SE concilia trabalho e família? Portanto, tem como objetivo geral: analisar a dupla jornada da mulher inserida no mercado de trabalho turístico na capital sergipana. Seusobjetivos específicosforam: Perceber como se configuram os papéis de gênero na sociedade em relação a participação do homem na família e sua aceitação sobre o trabalho remunerado da mulher; Identificar as conquistas e os anseios das mulheres que vivem a dupla jornada no mercado de trabalho turístico de Aracaju. O método utilizado para a coleta dos dados foi a História de Vida e a técnica de pesquisa foi a entrevista dialógica. Os resultados apontaram que os homens estão mais abertos a ajudar a suas mulheres com as tarefas de casa, porém ainda não é uma partilha igualitária e, ainda, o cuidado e a orientação dos filhos continua sendo um dever relacionado às mães. O homem também evoluiu em relação a sua opinião sobre o trabalho da mulher, mas ainda não concorda que a mulher viaje a trabalho, o que prejudica a mulher no setor turístico. Conclui-se que as mulheres avançaram muito, pois hoje em dia as mulheres estão inseridas em cargos mais valorizados. Com o passar do tempo, devido às lutas feministas, as mulheres vêm conquistando espaços que antes eram ocupados apenas por homens. Porém, ainda é preciso desconstruir valores patriarcais que rondam os papéis sociais de gênero. </p

Chironomus larvae (Chironomidae: Diptera) as water quality indicators along an environmental gradient in a neotropical urban stream

Anthropogenic interference in urban lotic systems is a factor affecting the biota of waterbodies. Aquatic macro invertebrates are an important food source for fish and are valuable indicators of water quality. The objective of this work was to study Chironomus larvae (Chironomidae: Diptera) distribution along an environmental gradient in Barbado Stream, Cuiab&#225;, MT, Brazil. No individual Chironomus was found in the springs of Barbado Stream, which may indicate preservation of the area. During the study period, we found 40.3 and 94.4 individuals/m2 at points 3 and 4 (low course), respectively. There is eutrophication in these sites due to domestic sewage discharges, indicating low quality water. The Barbado Stream needs restoration projects that include an awareness of the residents of their neighborhood's environmental importance, and investments in the sanitation sector to prioritize the collection and treatment of wastewater and solid waste collection

High-fat diet and streptozotocin in the induction of type 2 diabetes mellitus: a new proposal

Our objective was to establish a diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) model in rats using a high-fat diet and streptozotocin (HF-STZ). Male Wistar rats (240-250g) were divided into a control group (commercial feed), and HF-STZ group, (66.5%-commercial feed, 13.5%-lard, and 20%-sugar). STZ (40mg/kg i.p.) or vehicle was administered on the 13th day. An oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was performed (2.5mg of glucose/kg v.o.) on both groups. After 39 days of treatment, blood and tissue samples were collected for analyses. The weight gain after STZ administration was lower in the HF-STZ group than in the control group with reductions in muscle mass and adipose tissue. The HF-STZ group showed hyperglycemia after STZ administration (glucose on day 39: HF-STZ: 499 ± 60; control: 134 ± 9mg/dL). Serum glucagon was 23% lower, and insulin levels were unaltered. The HOMA index was 4-times higher in the HF-STZ. The HF-STZ group showed increased post-prandial (330%) and fasting (125%) triglycerides, and while glycogen content in the liver and muscles decreased (70-80%). The area under the curve (OGTT) was 282% higher in the HF-STZ group. The combination of high-fat diet with STZ (i.p) generated rats with hyperglycemia associated with hypertriglyceridemia and introduced many other alterations present in human DM2
