Integrated approach for prediction of centrifugal fertilizer spread patterns

The present paper proposes a numerical approach for prediction of behavior of those fertilizers spreaders based on centrifugal disc functioning. In particular results from finite element multi-body simulations provided by commercial software are used in order to define boundary conditions of field tests carried out concurrently. Results are then integrated into a mathematical model to rapidly generate distribution charts and distribution diagrams. Such integrated approach can be implemented to effectively calibrate a theoretical model which provides simulations on different machine settings conditions: as a final point simulations allow fast testing of different distribution conditions, helping definition of those which minimize the variability of the distribution itself

Tribunal de justicia" : un juego de psicodrama en la intervención de la psicologia del deporte

Los técnicos, dirigentes, atletas y demás profesionales del área deportiva quieren respuestas inmediatas, para bloqueos deportivos que involucran aspectos emocionales. Ellos piden al Psicólogo Deportivo explicaciones precisas y acciones transformadoras. El objetivo de este estudio es presentar «El Tribunal de Justicia» como un juego dramático utilizado por el psicodramatista que actúa directamente en el Deporte. Para tal abordaje me apoyé en los conceptos de Psicodrama. Si en la Teoría Psicodramática, el hombre es estudiado a partir de sus relaciones interpersonales, en el contexto deportivo, las relaciones entre los atletas y la comisión técnica se transforman en un núcleo fundamental. El juego dramático presentado aquí permite que el atleta descubra nuevas maneras de lidiar con una situación. Este juego fue creado con el objetivo de hacer que sus participantes tomasen el lugar de otra persona y al mismo tiempo sigan al otro refiriéndose a su papel. Descritas las principales características, indicaciones y cuidados para su aplicación, y relatando como ilustración una experiencia vivida; queda expresado en este artículo un recurso, un instrumento más para que el Psicólogo del Deporte lo utilice en su trabajo diario.Coaches, directors, athletes and other professionals of the sporting area are in inmediate need of answers to sporting impediments, that involve emotional aspects. They ask the Sport Psychologist changing and precise actions. The aim of this study is to present «The law court» as a role-playing game utilized by the psychodramatist who works with sport. For this approach I support my concepts on the Psychodrama. If at the Psychodramatic theory human being is studied from their interpersonal relationships, at the sporting scenery, the athletes relationship with the technical committee becomes essential. The role-playing game presented here allows the athletes find out new ways of dealing with a settled situation. That game was created having in mind making their participants role-play other person's part at the same time they follow the other person referring to their part. Having described the main characteristics, indication and precaution as to its application, as well as having as illustration a real experience, it is shown in the present article a resource, a further instrument for the Sport Psychologist's daily work

Vestibular function in children underperforming at school

SummaryLearning is a complex, dynamic process, structured from motor and perception skills which, when cortically processed, give birth to cognition. Balance is a fundamental neurological function that helps us maintain proper postures, an essential factor in learning and a sign or neurologic maturity. Aim: this paper aims to study vestibular function in children underperforming at school. Study design: this is a cross-sectional study. Materials and method: eighty-eight children with ages ranging between 7 and 12 years attending the public schools of Piracicaba from 2004 to 2006 were enrolled. All children were interviewed, submitted to ENT examination, hearing tests, and vestibular examination. Results: fifty-one percent of the participants had no reported difficulties at school, whereas 49.0% were underperforming at school. Under vestibular examination, 73.3% of the children performing well at school had normal findings, whereas 32.6% of the underperforming children had normal test results. Unilateral and bilateral irritative peripheral vestibular alterations were found in 67.4% of the underperformers and in 26.7% of the children not experiencing difficulties at school. Conclusion: all vestibular alterations found had an irritative peripheral origin. There was a statistically significant association between vestibular alteration and poor performance at school

Jogando com o psicodrama : uma contribuição para a psicologia do esporte

Orientador: Pedro Jose WintersteinDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação FisicaResumo: Sendo uma das Ciências do Esporte, a Psicologia do Esporte (PE) se interessa pelos fatores psicológicos presentes na prática esportiva e na atividade física.Foi objetivo deste estudo apresentar e relacionar o Psicodrama com a Psicologia do Esporte. Através da fundamentação teórica do Psicodrama, das técnicas psicodramáticas utilizadas no contexto esportivo e também caminhando por entre relatos de experiências da prática desses recursos, pode-se conhecer mais uma opção de trabalho do Psicólogo do Esporte. Inicialmente abordei a Psicologia e o Esporte para que ambos pudessem acolher a PE. No capítulo a ela dedicado explorei seus caminhos, seus contornos e novos rumos. Em seguida apresentei o Psicodrama, sua história. Mereceu destaque aqui os conceitos de: Matriz de Identidade, Encontro, Tele, Papel, Sociometria dos Vínculos e o Jogo Dramático. Um capítulo foi aberto exclusivamente para que se pudesse expor mais detalhadamente as vivências psicodramáticas. No relato do "Tribunal de Justiça- e do "Os Dez Mandamentos do Esporte", jogos dramáticos adaptados ineditamente para o contexto esportivo, foi possível perceber que a partir dessas vivências cada grupo descobriu novas formas de lidar com situações adversas. Puderam também entrar em contato com sua espontaneidade e criatividade, fatores fundamentais para o desenvolvimento de todo esportista. A técnica de Inversão de Papéis, tradicional do Psicodrama, foi citada com suas possibilidades de aplicação no campo da PE. No final houve um enlaçamento entre a teoria psicodramática e as situações esportivas. Se na entrada do século XXI o Esporte, como um grande fenômeno de expressão, também precisa reformular seus paradigmas, a PE deve aproveitar esse movimento e tornar o papel do Psicólogo mais voltado para os valores humanos essenciais, onde ele não seja um mero aplicador de testes ou diagnosticador de conflitos, mas sim, que veja seus praticantes como seres humanos que podem através de uma prática esportiva mais consciente encontrar autonomia, prazer e transcendênciaAbstract: Being one of the Sciences of Sports, the Psychology of Sport (PS) concentrates its interest in the psychological aspects present in the practice of a sport and of a physical activity. The objective of this piece of work was to present and relate the Psychodrama along with the Psychology of Sport. Through the Psychodrama theoretic fundament, through the psycodramatic techniques used in the sports context and also going through accounts of experiences of the practice of these resources, one can get to know yet another job option of the Sport Psychologist. Initially I approached the Psychology and the Sport so that both could have the PS. In the chapter dedicated to that, I studied its ways, its forms and its new directions and turns. After that I presented the Psychodrama and its history. It was important to highlight at this point, the concepts of: Identity Matrix, Meeting, Tele, Role, Sociometry of Bonds and the Dramatic Game. A chapter was opened exclusively in order to expose in details the psychodramatic techniques. In the accounts of the .Supreme Court" and -The T en Commandments of Sport" , dramatic games were adapted for the first time in the sports contexto It was possible to realize that having these experiences, each group found out new ways of dealing with adverse situations. They could also be in touch with their own spontaneity and creativity, important factors for the development of every sportsperson. The technique of Role Inversion, traditional in Psychodrama, was mentioned with its application possibilities in the field of PS. At the end, there was a bond between the Theory of Psycodramatic and sports situations. Tractor cabin ergonomics analyses by means of Kinect motion capture technology

Kinect is the de facto standard for real-time depth sensing and motion capture cameras. The sensor is here proposed for exploiting body tracking during driving operations. The motion capture system was developed taking advantage of the Microsoft software development kit (SDK), and implemented for real-time monitoring of body movements of a beginner and an expert tractor drivers, on different tracks (straight and with curves) and with different driving conditions (manual and assisted steering). Tests show how analyses can be done not only in terms of absolute movements, but also in terms of relative shifts, allowing for quantification of angular displacements or rotations
