The aim of this paper is to provide a new approach to project the Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) cash flows in emerging markets where collateral information is limited, wrong or scarce. Under this framework, we use the Cox Process to model stochastic probabilities of prepayment and default. The model deals with general intensity dynamics and is applied to the starting MBS Mexican market.Mortgage valuation, MBS prepayment, MBS default, MBS curtailment, Cox Process.

Dual Immersion Programs and their Implications: Focused Analyses on the Educational History

As a social construct, education fulfills the necessary elements, ideologies, and rituals required to construct social norms for society. What a society deems as a norm determines the sentiments and direction that a nation will take. These normative tendencies lead to national identity and national security through policies and legislation within the nations\u27 utilization of sovereignty. National interest being influenced by global events and ethnocentric ideologies has seen cycles leading to different immigration, educational, and economic policies. This paper analyzes dual immersion programs, which have been treated as a controversial topic due to its implications on national security and identity. Dual immersion programs are a method of educating students through bilingual means. This study looks at the evolution of bilingual programming through a historical lens and identifies their economic implications within communities, including the outcomes of racialized tendencies. Whereas the racial tendencies within programs are concealed, I hypothesize that the implementation of dual language immersion programs leads to a significant decrease in the use of the Spanish language. This analysis illuminates a driver of the recent decline of Spanish speaking interactions within families and communities. These declines expose assimilation devices that occur in homes due to educational institutions. These programs claim to have good intentions; however, assimilation through educational policies nevertheless produce the contrary outcomes while bringing negative and unforeseen consequences. This research thusly identifies stakeholders of this vanishing linguistic culture and the dynamics required to repair disparities within communal and educational institutions

The experiments also demonstrated that the dynamics of low-energy states can be explained with the same emergent static effective model. The spectrum exhibits real (avoided) level crossings for specific values of the Hamiltonian parameters, which can then be chosen to suppress (enhance) quantum tunneling. Here we analyze the spectrum and the dynamics of the effective model up to high energies, which should soon be within experimental reach. We show that the parameter values for the crossings, which can be obtained from a semiclassical approach, can also be identified directly from the dynamics. Our analysis of quantum tunneling is done with the effective flux of the Husimi volume of the evolved states between different regions of the phase space. Both initial coherent states and quench dynamics are considered. We argue that the level crossings and their consequences on the dynamics are typical to any quantum system with one degree of freedom, whose density of states presents a local logarithmic divergence and a local step discontinuity.CEAFMCEuropean Union Next Generation EU/PRTRUniversidad de Huelva High Performance ComputerNational Science Foundation 2124511 NSFEuropean Commission ECMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad UNHU-15CE-2848 MINECOHorizon 2020 MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033, PID2019-104002GB-C21European Regional Development Fund ERD

    Get PDF
The main objective of the research was to know the dynamics of the implementation of the public policy of food and healthy nutrition. The specific objectives were to define the characteristics of the National Sanitary Strategy of Food and Healthy Nutrition (ESNANS); determine the dynamics in its implementation; and analyze the consequences of it in a rural area of the province of Lima. The hypothesis stated that the ESNANS is a public health policy that has considered the cultural relevance and epidemiological profile of the rural population of the province of Lima. In its implementation, coordination mechanisms were applied among the state institutions involved in the process. The research work showed that the management capacity of the first level of health care was very weak due mainly to the lack of awareness and the high turnover of the Strategy. When analyzing the Healthy Food Strategy in a public policy context, the conclusion was that it is indispensable to establish an intergovernmental and multisectorial agenda to redefine the direction of policies that involved the components of overweight, obesity and eating habits. Such conditions can be as lethal as anemia and chronic malnutrition. Therefore, they constitute a serious public health problem. According to the implementation of public policy, the Healthy Food Strategy raises the need to incorporate management and coordination mechanisms that systematically address nutrition and food in its components of anemia, chronic child malnutrition, overweight and obesity throughout the population.Tesi

Heart sparing radiotherapy techniques in breast cancer: A focus on deep inspiration breath hold

    Get PDF
Adjuvant radiation therapy is a critical component of breast cancer management. However, when breast cancer patients receive incidental radiation to the heart, there is an increased risk of cardiac disease and mortality. This is most common for patients with left-sided breast cancers and those receiving nodal irradiation as part of treatment. The overall risk of cardiac toxicity increases 4-16% with each Gray increase in mean heart radiation dose, with data suggesting that no lower limit exists which would eliminate cardiac risk entirely. Radiation techniques have improved over time, leading to lower cardiac radiation exposure than in the past. This decline is expected to reduce the incidence of radiation-induced heart dysfunction in patients. Deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) is one such technique that was developed to reduce the risk of cardiac death and coronary events. DIBH is a non-invasive approach that capitalizes on the natural physiology of the respiratory cycle to increase the distance between the heart and the therapeutic target throughout the course of radiation therapy. DIBH has been shown to decrease the mean incidental radiation doses to the heart and left anterior descending coronary artery by approximately 20-70%. In this review, we summarize different techniques for DIBH and discuss recent data on this technique
