Project of a conceptual design in BIM of a hospital
Differences in climate, habits and diseases in different parts of the world create a great variability of care needs that the population needs to be covered. The most important of these is health. The aim of this project is to study the rooms needed in two specific units of a hospital, the surgical and the emergency unit, and to relate them to the population, in order to obtain an algorithm that quantifies and sizes them according to the population. Based on this algorithm, it is wanted to visualise the data dynamically and dump it in Revit to obtain a BIM model that is capable of varying the distributions depending on the selected inputs. This project begins with the study of the care units of a hospital and then focuses on the functional plan of the surgical and the emergency unit. Based on the functional plan, the relationship between the inputs and the number and dimensions of the rooms in both units is studied. From these relationships, an algorithm is created and written in Python in order to calculate the results based on the data entered and to visualise them in a web environment. Finally, the formulation of coordinates that can locate each of the rooms in a plan according to the inputs, without overlapping one over the other, is studied and the data is dumped into Dynamo for its design in Revit. This study demonstrates the variability in the dimensions and number of rooms needed in a hospital to serve a specific population, by number of people and by location. In the case of this project, the regulations were studied and applied at a state level, but the surgical and emergency unit attendance is different in each autonomous community, which is reason enough to present the possibility of making this study more generic and with more variables so that it can be used in any part of the world
Cranial suture closure and its bilateral asymmetry in the franciscana dolphin, Pontoporia blainvillei, were studied. Our results showed that the closure of cranial sutures exhibit low variability associated to total body size, with the exception of the premaxilla-maxilla suture which showed some correlation with body size. The cranial sutures of franciscana dolphins showed closure with no directional asymmetry, in accordance with the results found in dolphin species studied to date. Our results support the idea that different species of dolphins exhibit distinct patterns of suture closure, associated with their specific evolutionary histories and functional demands, and that there is no general common pattern.Fil: del Castillo, Daniela Laura. From Wollstonecraft’s dilemma to Nancy Fraser’s theory of gender justice: a proposal for the analysis of gender equality policies
Social policies are an essential instrument for fighting against women’s discrimination and overcoming gender inequality. However, an agreement about what gender equality consists of has not been achieved yet and, consequently, neither has a consensus been reached about what the suitable meanings (speaking in terms of public policies) to reach that egalitarian paradigm. The main confrontation in this regard has been featured by the alternative positions held by the equality feminism and by the difference feminism. Based on the theoretical contributions developed by Nancy Fraser to try to overcome this dilemma, this paper aims to present some criteria that we consider key to the analysis of a given system of gender equality public policies when it comes to assessing its transformative-gender capacity, that is, the potential of these measures to subvert the unequal gendered power relations that lie on the basis of women’s subordination
The Right to Gender Self-Determination in Spain. Lessons from Autonomous Communities
Law 3/2007, regulating the rectification of a person's official sex, is still in force in Spain. Although it does not demand reassignment surgery, it pathologizes the reassignment process, among other shortcomings. Since its enactment, 14 of Spain’s 17 Autonomous Communities (Regions) have legislated on the subject, mostly on the basis of self-determination, in an attempt to compensate for the perceived deficiencies in national legislation. This paper analyses and compares the legislative approach to gender identity and the rights of Trans people at a national and regional level
Structural analysis of a naturally fractured carbonate field in the south-east Gulf of Mexico.
Fractured carbonates produce more than 85% of hydrocarbon production in Mexico. A large number of the producing fields are located in the South Gulf Salt Province (SGSP) in Campeche Bay within the Upper Jurassic Kimmeridgian and Cretaceous carbonates. Multidisciplinary analysis involving structural and stratigraphic interpretation, integrated with fracture analysis is needed to efficiently produce from these fields. This study focuses on the structural geology and fracture analysis of two structures (A and B) in the area. As well as in the inquiring of the most important mechanisms involved in the formation of the most critical hydrocarbon traps and principal reservoirs.
The structures formed during four main periods of deformation, including (1) upper Jurassic to early Cretaceous extension (D1), (2) Eocene-Oligocene compression (D2), (3) Middle-Upper Miocene compression (D3), and (4) late Miocene to Recent extension (D4). The deformation resulted in broad faulted detachment folds superimposed on salt pillows. Numerous secondary faults related to episodes D2-D4 are mapped on the structures. Although a number of fracture sets related to the multiple episodes of deformation are present, the main sets of open conductive fractures are transverse (type1), and longitudinal (type 2). The principal factors controlling the presence of the naturally fractured carbonate reservoirs are related to the lithology, and local deformation discussed. The interpreted structural geometry, evolution, and fracture patterns will be critical for future production from the Cretaceous reservoirs
Overdamped van Hove function of atomic liquids
Using the generalized Langevin equation formalism and the process of
contraction of the description we derive a general memory function equation for
the thermal fluctuations of the local density of a simple atomic liquid. From
the analysis of the long-time limit of this equation, a striking equivalence is
suggested between the long-time dynamics of the atomic liquid and the dynamics
of the corresponding \emph{Brownian} liquid. This dynamic equivalence is
confirmed here by comparing molecular and Brownian dynamics simulations of the
self-intermediate scattering function and the long-time self-diffusion
coefficient for the hard-sphere liquid.Comment: 4 Figures, 23 page

Social workers\u27 perceptions regarding at risk and delinquent foster care youth
This thesis explores the experiences of social workers within San Bernardino County\u27s Children and Family Services who are working with delinquent and high-risk youth within foster care. Social workers were asked to describe services that are available and the potential protective risk factors that may exist. It is imperative to understand this population and the services that exist in order to address this problem and better meet the needs of youth
