The article indicates the features of space ascribed to the literary protagonists who can be regarded as outsiders. Three types of figures of an “outsider out of necessity” have been selected: a rogue/scoundrel, a homosexual and a chav. For each of these figures—and they are characteristic for the Polish latest prose—distinctive dominant space is attributed, which defines, in different ways, and simultaneously brings out the limiting one-dimensionality and, tragic in its expression, the seclusion associated with the condition of “outsiders out of necessity”. With reference to a rogue/scoundrel especially important is flattening (certain “one-dimensionality”) of the disintegrating landscape. In the case of homosexuals there dominates a closed space of one’s own house (flat). For chavs, in turn, characteristic are labyrinth-like districts of urban ghettos

THE USE OF PORTFOLIO TO IMPROVE THE STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT THE FIRST GRADE OF SMP 3 MUHAMMADIYAH JETIS IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2015/2016

Key words: Writing skill, Descriptive Text, Portfolio,. This study analyzes some problems about improving students writing skill using portfolio media at the first grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis. The students still get difficulty to find idea on writing. In this case, the students must be supported by drilling or example to build their passion on writing. From that, the research aims to know that portfolio media improve writing descriptive text. The subject of the study is the students of the first grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis that consisted of 19 students. The research was conducted on May 5-13 2016. Classroom action research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The improvement of students’ score using portfolio could be seen in the exercise one and two. That is the KKM score of cycle 1 was 55.94%, and cycle II was 75.5%. The questionnaire result showed that the students were interested in the media. It was seen from the total of the questionnaire I was 79.6% and questionnaire II was 82.8%. The observation checklist cycle I showed, 32% and cycle II showed 82.14%. From that, it could be seen that students be came active during teaching and learning process. It was seen from the total of observation checklist. Based on these findings, it could be concluded that the use of the portfolio could improve the students’ writing ability of the first grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jetis. Finally, the researcher gave a suggestion that English teacher could use portfolio media as an alternative method of teaching writing. The researcher could develop this method by using kinds of media to get the best result in teaching learning process

Perhitungan Harga Pokok Produksi Dengan Menggunakan Metode Full Costing Guna Penentuan Harga Jual Produk Aquarium (Pada UKM Arief Aquarium) Di Sidoarjo

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perhitungan harga pokok produksi guna penetapan harga jual produk pada UKM Arief Aquarium di Sidoarjo. Perhitungan harga pokok produski degan menggunakan metode full costing dan penetapan harga jual dengan menggunakan metode cost plus pricing. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data primer yang diperoleh langsung dari pihak perusahaan seperti data hasil wawancara dengan pihak perusahaan serta data berupa informasi biaya-biaya produksi perusahaan selama bulan desember sampai februari 2019. Sedangkan untuk data sekunder diperoleh dari buku literatur, jurnal, internet atau media lain yang mendukung penelitian ini. Hasil perhitungan harga pokok produksi untuk aquarium No 5 dengan menggunakan metode full costing yaitu sebesar Rp 84.100 per unit dan No 6 sebesar Rp 205.700 per unit adapun harga jual aquarium per unit untuk No 5 sebesar Rp 117.600 dan No 6 sebesar Rp 280.500

Decomposition of variance in terms of conditional means

We test against two different sets of data an apparently new approach to the analysis of the variance of a numerical variable which depends on qualitative characters. We suggest that this approach be used to complement other existing techniques to study the interdependence of the variables involved. According to our method the variance is expressed as a sum of orthogonal components, obtained as differences of conditional means, with respect to the qualitative characters. The resulting expression for the variance depends on the ordering in which the characters are considered. We suggest an algorithm which leads to an ordering which is deemed natural. The first set of data concerns the score achieved by a population of students, on an entrance examination, based on a multiple choice test with 30 questions. In this case the qualitative characters are dyadic and correspond to correct or incorrect answer to each question. The second set of data concerns the delay in obtaining the degree for a population of graduates of Italian universities. The variance in this case is analyzed with respect to a set of seven specific qualitative characters of the population studied (gender, previous education, working condition, parent's educational level, field of study, etc.)Comment: 3 figure
