    Integración de Hadoop con planificadores batch

    Cada vez es mayor el número de aplicaciones desarrolladas en el ámbito científico, como en la Bioinformática o en las Geociencias, escritas bajo el modelo MapReduce, empleando herramientas de código abierto como Apache Hadoop. De la necesidad de integrar Hadoop en entornos HPC, para posibilitar la ejecutar aplicaciones desarrolladas bajo el paradigma MapReduce, nace el presente proyecto. Se analizan dos frameworks diseñados para facilitar dicha integración a los desarrolladores: HoD y myHadoop. En este proyecto se analiza, tanto las posibilidades en cuanto a entornos que ofrecen dichos frameworks para la ejecución de aplicaciones MapReduce, como el rendimiento de los clúster Hadoop generados con HoD o myHadoop respecto a un clúster Hadoop físico.Cada cop és més gran el número d'aplicacions desenvolupades a l'àmbit científic, com la Bioinformàtica o les Geociències, escrites sota el model MapReduce, fent servir eines de codi obert com Apache Hadoop.     The Spanish Version of the International Index of Erectile Function: Adaptation and Validation

    Background: The International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) is a widely employed questionnaire in urology to assess erectile dysfunction (ED) in both clinical research and practice. Objective: To translate and culturally adapt the Spanish version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) and to analyze its psychometric properties in Spanish men with erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods: Firstly, direct and reverse translations were performed. Secondly, a pilot study was carried out on 23 patients with the lowest possible education level without being illiterate. Finally, 170 participants completed the IIEF. Test–retest reliability, internal consistency and construct validity (exploratory factor analysis) were assessed. Concurrent and divergent validity were evaluated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and the 12-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-12), respectively. Discriminant validity (with and without anxiety or depression) was calculated using a receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis. Results: High internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.968, total score) and moderate-to-excellent test–retest reliability were found. The factor analysis showed a two-factor structure (explained variance of 77.34%). Significant correlations of the IIEF total score (p < 0.01) and domains (p < 0.05) with HADS anxiety and depression scores were observed (concurrent validity), while non-significant correlations with SF-12 physical and mental summary scores were found (divergent validity). The IIEF total score could discriminate between participants with and without anxiety (p < 0.05) and depression (p < 0.01), with an optimal cut-off point of <39.50 for both anxiety (48.30% sensitivity and 78.75% specificity) and depression (50.00% sensitivity and 81.01% specificity).     Record of Morchella tridentina in an Abies religiosa forest in Mexico and in vitro culture of its mycelium with obtaining sclerotia

    Antecedentes y Objetivos: El género Morchella agrupa hongos ascomicetos, con varias especies comestibles de gran importancia alimenticia y biotecnológica. En China y Estados Unidos de América se han logrado cultivar exitosamente especies de Morchella de forma artificial hasta producir cuerpos fructíferos. Los objetivos del presente trabajo fueron identificar las especies de Morchella recolectadas en bosque de Abies religiosa, cultivar su micelio in vitro y propagarlo en granos de trigo. El presente estudio contribuye al conocimiento de la fase inicial necesaria para el posible cultivo artificial de este grupo de hongos. Métodos: Se recolectaron hongos en un bosque de Abies religiosa ubicado en Santo Tomás Apipilhuasco, Tepetlaoxtoc, Estado de México, México. Los hongos se identificaron (taxonómica- y molecularmente) y se realizaron aislamientos a partir de trozos de tejido del ascocarpo en medio papa dextrosa agar (PDA) y posteriormente se realizó su propagación en granos de trigo. Resultados clave: Las especies recolectadas fueron identificadas como Morchella tridentina y se logró el cultivo de micelio in vitro en medio PDA, así como su propagación en granos de trigo, en donde se observó la formación de esclerocios después de 21 días de inoculación. Las características del micelio que se cultivó in vitro variaron entre las cepas, no obstante que se aislaron de especímenes pertenecientes a una misma especie. Los especímenes deshidratados fueron depositados en el Herbario CHAP que pertenece a la Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo. Conclusiones: Debido a que las presentes cepas fueron capaces de formar esclerocios, podrían ser utilizadas para la producción de ascocarpos. Sin embargo, es conveniente continuar con la investigación, con el objetivo de determinar las condiciones óptimas (ambientales, sustratos y de inducción de la fructificación) para ese fin y lograr su cultivo artificial.Background and Aims: The genus Morchella groups ascomycete fungi, with several edible species of great nutritional and biotechnological importance. In China and the United States of America, species of Morchella have been artificially cultivated succesfully until producing fruiting bodies. The objectives of this work were: identify species of Morchella collected in an Abies religiosa forest, cultivate their mycelium in vitro and propagate them in wheat grains. The present study contributes to the knowledge of the initial phase necessary for the possible artificial cultivation of this group of fungi. Methods: Mushrooms were collected in an Abies religiosa forest located in Santo Tomas Apipilhuasco, Tepetlaoxtoc, Mexico State, Mexico. Fungi were identified (taxonomically and molecularly) and isolation was realized from pieces from sporome tissue in potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium, followed by propagation in wheat grains. Key results: The species collected were identified as Morchella tridentina and cultivation in vitro of mycelium in PDA was achieved as well as its propagation in wheat grains, where the formation of sclerotia was observed after 21 days of inoculation. The characteristics of the in vitro-cultured mycelium varied among strains, although they were isolated from specimens corresponding to the same species. The specimens were deposited in the CHAP Herbarium, Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo. Conclusions: Because of the presence of strains that are capable to form sclerotia, it could be used for ascocarp production. However, it is convenient to continue with this investigation with the objective of determining the optimal conditions (environmental, substrates, fruiting induction) for this aim and to achieve its artificial cultivation

    Application of edible nanolaminate coatings with antimicrobial extract of Flourensia cernua to extend the shelf-life of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) fruit

In this study, the effects of nanolaminate coatings incorporated with extracts of Flourensia cernua, an endemic plant of the arid and semi-arid regions of Mexico, has been investigated. Ethanol extracts of F. cernua (FcE) were prepared and incorporated into polyelectrolyte solutions of alginate and chitosan. The nanolaminates were characterized by determining the zeta potential, contact angle and water vapor and oxygen permeabilities. Shelf-life analyses (20°C for 15 d) were carried out with uncoated fruit (UCF), nanolaminate coating (NL) and nanolaminate coating with FcE (NL+FcE). Physicochemical analyses, gas exchange rates of O2 and CO2 and ethylene production, as well as microbiological analyses of treated fruit were measured. Zeta potential and contact angle measurements confirmed the successful assembly of successive nanolayers of alginate and chitosan, as well as those with F. cernua. The nanolaminate coatings resulted in decreased permeabilities to water and O2. The best treatment of NL+FcE, extended the shelf-life of fruit by reducing weight loss and microbial growth, reducing gas exchange and ethylene production, and maintaining firmness and color. The NL+FcE treatment are an alternative to extend the shelf-life of tomato fruit.Author E. de J.     Manual sobre técnicas y modos de simulación clínica en diversas especialidades médicas.La enseñanza y formación en medicina necesita el uso de la simulación. Existen evidencias de su uso desde hace cientos de años, pero, en los últimos años se ha incrementado y diseminado. La simulación clínica está validada científicamente en múltiples contextos médicos y de otras áreas profesionales de la salud. Y es considerada de gran importancia como proceso de entrenamiento y de mejora de las competencias y adquisición de habilidades médicas en campos que incluye desde la historia clínica, comunicación con el paciente, exploración, diagnóstico terapéutica médica-farmacológica y quirúrgica y seguridad al tratar al paciente. Hoy en día, para muchas técnicas y situaciones clínicas es inaceptable llegar junto a los pacientes sin un dominio adquirido en simulación. La simulación puede ocurrir sin el uso de recursos adicionales, solo las personas, o utilizando pocos o muchos recursos de baja hasta alta tecnología y se puede adaptar a los recursos disponibles, abarcando todas las áreas de conocimiento, y dentro de ellas competencias técnicas o actitudes, solas o en conjunto. El uso racional y basado en evidencia de la simulación es de la mayor importancia por la necesidad de una mayor efectividad y eficiencia en la transformación de los profesionales de la salud para que puedan mejorar su capacidad de atender a los pacientes.     Indexación: Scopus.In the context of the progressive increase of foreigners in public schools in Chile and the recent changes in migratory patterns, the presence of students who do not master the working language of the educational system has systematically incremented in recent years. In a scenario marked by the absence of educational policies that respond to this new linguistic diversity, the purpose of our research was to understand how schools have responded to the arrival of foreign students and what educational practices they have implemented to tackle this challenge. Through a two-year school ethnography in four public schools with high enrollment of foreigners, institutional documents were analyzed and field observation, interviews and focus groups were conducted with different actors amidst the educational communities. Through an analysis of thematic content, the results reveal the implementation of ten devices to manage educational responses to foreign students. We have analyzed three of these devices with a focus on linguistics based on the tensions and contradictions that occur within the educational institutions of which they are part, identifying significant elements and dimensions to drive forward expansive learning. Clinical implications: The psychometric properties of the IIEF have not been analyzed in Spanish people to date. Strengths and Limitations: The Spanish version of the IIEF was shown to be capable of discriminating between men with erectile dysfunction with and without depression or anxiety. There are some limitations to this study that should be noted. It was conducted on Spanish participants, and, thus, it should be employed with caution in other Spanish-speaking countries. This study was carried out on a selected population, and, therefore, the generalizability of its results to other populations might be limited. Moreover, a large majority of the participants (89.41%) had secondary or higher education. Future studies should be performed on a more general population with a varied geographical and educational background. Conclusions: The Spanish IIEF is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing erectile function among Spanish men with ED
