This primer explores the exciting subject of intelligence. Intelligence is a fundamental component of all living things, as well as Artificial Intelligence(AI). Artificial Intelligence has the potential to affect all of our lives and a new era for modern humans. This paper is an attempt to explore the ideas associated with intelligence, and by doing so understand the implications, constraints, and potentially the capabilities of future Artificial Intelligence. As an exploration, we journey into different parts of intelligence that appear essential. We hope that people find this useful in determining where Artificial Intelligence may be headed. Also, during the exploration, we hope to create new thought-provoking questions. Intelligence is not a single weighable quantity but a subject that spans Biology, Physics, Philosophy, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Psychology, and Computer Science. Historian Yuval Noah Harari pointed out that engineers and scientists in the future will have to broaden their understandings to include disciplines such as Psychology, Philosophy, and Ethics. Vogesen- und Schwarzwald-Kare

Wertet man die mittlere Höhenlage der Karböden und die Exposition der voll ausgebildeten Kare graphisch aus, so ergibt sich eine klare Gliederung der Kare von Vogesen und Schwarzwald in eine Reihe untereinander vergleichbarer Gruppen. Diese vier Kargruppen a—d lassen sich den bekannten Würm-Gletscherständen des Südschwarzwaldes (Würm-Maximum, Titisee, Zipfelhof und Feldsee) parallelisieren. Als Ergebnis kann man nicht nur datieren, wann die Kare selbst letztmals voll vergletschert waren, sondern man kann auch die übrigen, mit diesen Karen in Zusammenhang stehenden Gletscherstände einordnen. Für den Nördlichen Schwarzwald konnte so bereits die Vereisungsgeschichte der Kare und Täler ab dem Würm-Maximum geklärt werden. Jahreswarven im Sennesander?

Die Turonkalke im südwestlichen Teutoburger Wald tragen auffallend mächtigen, splittrigen Schutt. Durch einige Aufschlüsse im Vorland, der „Senne", konnte dieses Material einige km verfolgt werden. Die Splitter werden dabei kleiner, etwas kantengerundet und immer stärker von glazio-fluviatilen Sanden unterbrochen. Der ziemlich regelmäßige Wechsel von Sand und Splittern könnte in einem jahreszeitlichen Wechsel von Solifluktion und Eisschmelze seine Ursache haben.researc

Plateauverfirnung und Talgletscher im Nordschwarzwald

Neben 158 kleineren Kargletschern trug der Nordschwarzwald in seinen höchsten Teilen eine geschlossene Firnkappe, von der aus einige Gletscher nach Osten in die Täler hinabreichten und nach 3 km endeten. Unterhalb der dortigen Würmmoränen liegen noch einige isolierte Buckel, Wälle und Becken, die von einer stärkeren Vergletscherung (Riß?) herrühren könnten. No Choice but Welcoming Refugees: The Non-Refoulement Principle as Customary International Law in Indonesia

The non-refoulement principle requires each country to consider refugees and asylum seekers in their country of origin if they are subject to persecution and threaten their lives. As a geographically strategic country, Indonesia has been a significant crossroad for international refugees and asylum seekers often consider Indonesia their temporary destination. Moreover, the complex situation of international refugees has encouraged to reinterpret of the principle of non-refoulement into various national measures and domestic policies, given that Indonesia is deemed a transit country for refugees and has not ratified the 1951 Convention on the Status of Refugees. This paper aims to analyse the concept of refugee protection under international law, particularly the non-refoulement principle and investigate the application of the non-refoulement principle in Indonesia. This study employed normative and empirical legal research with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. This study confirms that the non-refoulement principle is part of jus cogens norms in international law but does not fit in its application. Indonesia has inconsistency in upholding the non-refoulement principle into the binding normative rules. Refugees have received far less attention from the Indonesian government due to insufficient infrastructure and financial allocation. Moreover, the existing executive regulations do not provide effective enforcement since these regulations have a lower position in the hierarchy and cannot have deterrent sanctions. Hence, ratification of the 1951 Convention is urgently needed by Indonesia to guarantee the protection of refugees within its jurisdiction. At the regional scope, Indonesia can encourage ASEAN countries to adopt good practices in the European Union to set sharing quotas to ensure that not most refugees escape to Indonesia
