Resolution of Ambiguities in Query Interpretation for Geographical Pictorial Query Languages

The main problem of visual query languages for geographical data concerns query ambiguity. A query can have different visual representations, which in turn can have different interpretations. Increasing the number of query objects increases its ambiguity. This derives from the fact that a query can lead to multiple interpretations for both the system and user. The user’s actions may not represent his intentions, leading the system to an incorrect interpretation. So the user cannot express his exact query and different queries must thus be formulated to achieve his goals. This paper proposes an approach that allows the user to represent only desired constraints and avoid undesired constraints in visual query representation

A Survey on Modeling Language Evolution in the New Millennium

AbstractLanguage is a complex evolving system and it is not a trivial task to model the dynamics of processes occurring during its evolution. Therefore, modeling language evolution has attracted the interest of several researchers giving rise to a lot of models in the literature of the last millennium. This work reviews the literature devoted to computationally represent the evolution of human language through formal models and provides an analysis of the bibliographic production and scientific impact of the surveyed language evolution models to give some conclusions about current trends and future perspectives of this research field. The survey provides also an overview of the strategies for validating and comparing the different language evolution models and how these techniques have been applied by the surveyed models

PENGARUH KESEIMBANGAN DAN KETEPATAN TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR PASSING KAKI BAGIAN DALAM PADA PERMAINAN FUTSAL SISWA KELAS VII DI SMPN 252 JAKARTA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data empiris tentang Pengaruh Keseimbangan Dan Ketepatan Saat Melakukan Passing Dengan Kaki Bagian Dalam Pada Permainan Futsal Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas VII Di SMP Negeri 252 Jakarta dari bulan November 2016 sampai bulan Januari 2017. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi target dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP Negeri 252 Jakarta, sedangkan populasi targetnya adalah siswa kelas VII. Sampel yang diambil berjumlah dua kelas yang berjumlah 64 siswa. Melalui teknik analisis data statistik yaitu diperoleh koefisien korelasi pada ry1 adalah thitung = 5,789 sedangkan ttabel 1,999 pada taraf kesalahan 5% (α = 0,05) dengan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 20. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa thitung > ttabel maka kita tolak H0, berarti koefisien korelasi 0,592 adalah signifikan. Koefisien korelasi pada ry2adalah thitung = 5,168 sedangkan ttabel 1,999 pada taraf kepercayaan 95 % (α = 0,05) dengan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 62. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa thitung > ttabel dengan demikian kita tolak H0, berarti koefisien korelasi 0,549 adalah signifika

European Citizenship, Identity and Rights: A Survey on Italian Young Students

Developing Europe means, first of all, creating a pervasive feeling of European citizenship, and creating a sense of belonging to a community in all countries of the European Union. This paper focuses on extracting Italian students’ socio-psychological dimension with respect to their perception and feelings regarding European citizenship, and their knowledge of the most relevant rights. The study involves Italian students aged between 18 and 25. A hybrid methodology has been adopted, combining: data extracted from a questionnaire; text from the photo-stories; images of the photo-stories and interviews. The results underline that young people have a sense of belonging to the European community, with the same rights and benefits. Moreover, there is the need to have the same feeling of European citizenship everywhere in Europe. The request for a stronger and more active citizens’ involvement also emerged from the study
