On the -Dirac Oscillator revisited
This Letter is based on the -Dirac equation, derived from the
-Poincar\'{e}-Hopf algebra. It is shown that the -Dirac
equation preserves parity while breaks charge conjugation and time reversal
symmetries. Introducing the Dirac oscillator prescription,
, in the -Dirac
equation, one obtains the -Dirac oscillator. Using a decomposition in
terms of spin angular functions, one achieves the deformed radial equations,
with the associated deformed energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. The
deformation parameter breaks the infinite degeneracy of the Dirac oscillator.
In the case where , one recovers the energy eigenvalues and
eigenfunctions of the Dirac oscillator.Comment: 5 pages, no figures, accepted for publication in Physics Letters
Universitiesâ Entrepreneurship Education and Regional Development: a Stakeholdersâ Approach
It is assumed that entrepreneurship education encourage the growth of new businesses, exploiting the entrepreneurial spirit within higher education sector. Additionally, entrepreneurship higher education is supposed to play a relevant role in the development of enterprising citizens and in the development regions through an ongoing process of knowledge creation and delivery. In this research we will explore what roles are attributed to entrepreneurship education in the literature with regard to regional development as well as the influence and relationship of the main intervening stakeholders. The aim is to present a conceptual model which integrate the contributions of both strands of literature and, at the same time, highlight the interplay between the several stakeholders involved in HEIâs entrepreneurship education and regional development.Entrepreneurship education, university, regional development, stakeholders

The new automated daily mortality surveillance system
The experience reported in an earlier Eurosurveillance issue on a fast method to evaluate the impact of the 2003 heatwave on mortality in Portugal, generated a daily mortality surveillance system (VDM) that has been operating ever since jointly with the Portuguese Heat Health Watch Warning System. This work describes the VDM system and how it evolved to become an automated system operating year-round, and shows briefly its potential using mortality data from January 2006 to June 2009 collected by the system itself. The new system has important advantages such as: rapid information acquisition, completeness (the entire population is included), lightness (very little information is exchanged, date of death, age, sex, place of death registration). It allows rapid detection of impacts (within five days) and allows a quick preliminary quantification of impacts that usually took several years to be done. These characteristics make this system a powerful tool for public health action. The VDM system also represents an example of inter-institutional cooperation, bringing together organisations from two different ministries, Health and Justice, aiming at improving knowledge about the mortality in the population
Morphological characterisation of biomass in wastewater treatment using partial least squares
A wastewater treatment plant was followed in order to
determine the biomass morphological properties and
relate them with other measures as the Total Suspended
Solids (TSS) or Sludge Volume Index (SVI). Image
analysis was used to provide morphological data, which
was subsequently treated by Partial Least Squares
(PLS). The results showed very good correlations
between observed and model predicted TSS but,
considerably lower for SVI
Exploring the effect of time and sex in family and community violence from 2008 to 2014
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the time and the sex of victims and perpetrators on the rates of family and community physical violence in a Brazilian municipality over seven years (2008â2014). METHODS: We made a census analysis from non-fatal victims attended in the Forensic Institute of the Scientific Civil Police. The monthly and annual violence rates were calculated based on the population size of the municipality. Time series was evaluated by negative binomial regression models, based on the number of cases with population offset and considering the effect of the sex of victims and perpetrators. RESULTS: A total of 3,324 cases of family and 4,634 cases of community violence were analyzed. There was a significant increase in family violence rates for female victims and male perpetrators. Family violence rates were always higher for female victims than for male and it was always lower for female perpetrators than for male (p < 0.001). There was a lower risk of community violence for male victims after 2013 and a decrease of aggression perpetrated by men over time. Men and women were similarly affected by community violence; however, the perpetrators were more frequently men. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate a trend of increasing female victims in the family violence, mainly perpetrated by men. The reduction in community violence rates could be the result of policies to reduce crime
Giant Cell Arteritis Presenting as Simultaneous Bilateral Critical Upper Limb Ischemia - Clinical Case
As queixas
carotĂdeo-umeral bilateral. ApĂłs a cirurgia, ocorreu resolução completa das queixas e a
doente apresentava pulso radial palpĂĄvel bilateralmente. Seis meses apĂłs a cirurgia, a doente
