The Effectiveness of Song with Wondershare QuizCreator in Teaching Listening

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of songs with Wondershare QuizCreator in teaching listening. English is taught based on listening approach that involves students’ activity in doing a worksheet. The main problem of learning listening for students in SMPN 2 Sutojayan is they have low vocabulary mastery. This causes the learning process is not quite effective far from what is being hoped. A teacher can use song with Wondershare QuizCreator in teaching listening. Based on the result of analysis Treatment using song with Wondershare QuizCreator shows that F = 12.175, the probability (P) is 0.001 and the mean is 80.490. Meanwhile, the Class taught without using Song with Wondershare QuizCreator shows 66.636. The mean of class using Song with Wondershare QuizCreator is greater than a class which is not using Song with Wondershare QuizCreator. This means that using song with Wondershare QuizCreator gives better achievement in the level of confidence 95%. It can be concluded that song with Wondershare Quizcreator can be used as additional alternative to teach listening

Teaching Reading Using PQRST Method with Power Point Media

The problem with student reading comprehension is that it is difficult to translate reading comprehension sentences, as English contains multiple tenses as well as vocabulary. Many students often find it difficult due to poor grammatical structure and vocabulary. Teaching methods are usually not very interesting for students. They say the instructor uses the traditional method (GTM). One alternative solution to this problem is PQRST with PowerPoint media. This method has been studied to see if it works effectively for learning to read. This study adopted a quasi-experimental procedure using a non-randomized pre-test and post-test design. As a result, it was found that the PQRST method using PowerPoint media is an effective method for reading comprehension instruction because it exhibits better reading comprehension than the conventional method.Keywords: teaching reading, PQRST, PowerPoin

Sorogan and How to Use it in Teaching English

One of the obstacles in learning English is ignorance in the use of distinguishing functions of part of speech, verbal and nominal sentences, and tenses. This article describes the application of the Sorogan method in learning English for beginners, where for many years this method is still being used in learning Arabic in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Effect of TPRC Using Preezi on Teaching Reading to Junior High School Students

Reading is very important for students because their learning success is highly dependent on their reading comprehension. In order to read well, teachers must support learning with appropriate teaching methods. This study was a quantitative study to apply a quasi-experimental design to compare the TPRC strategy with Prezi and Grammar Translation Method to the first-year students in SMPN 1 Sutojayan. Studies have shown significantly higher performance than those taught using GTM. It was concluded that TPRC strategy using Prezi was effective in teaching the reading of descriptive texts for junior high school.&nbsp

The Need For Social Skills As Reflected On Natsume Soseki’s Botchan Novel: A Sociology Of Literature Approach

This study discusses social skills in Botchan novel by Natsume Soseki using the sociology of literature approach. The purposes of this study are to identify indicators social skills, describe how social skills are described, and why the author discusses social skills in his novel. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. There are two data used in this research, the novel by Natsume Soseki entitled Botchan as primary data and secondary data like books, online journals, thesises, articles, and internet. The results show that there are three indicators of social skills such as the ability to cope conflict, the ability to cope anger, and the ability to communicate feelings and thoughts. All three are portrayed through characters, setting of place, events, and style. The results also show that this novel are partially inspired by Natsume Soseki's experience as the author, during teaching in the middle school which is the setting for this novel, and this novel aims to show Natsume Soseki's concern about the quality of education during the Meiji era

One kind of information technology for SMEs to expand business networks and marketing is an e-Commerce. Analisis Pengaruh Intellectual Capital terhadap Kinerja Keuangan dan Nilai Pasar Perusahaan (Studi pada Perusahaan yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2008-2012)

This study aims to analyze the influence of intellectual capital on the financial performance and market value of the company. This study also aims to analyze the influence between the components of intellectual capital, i.e.: human capital, customer capital, innovation capital, and process capital. Because of that the components of intellectual capital that became the core of forming a competitive advantage for the company were known.This study uses purposive sampling method which the determining of sample is based on certain criteria. The sample of this study is a secondary data which obtained from the financial statements of companies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2008-2012. From all of those companies in 5 years period, 11 qualified companies were selected, so the total sample was 55. Data analysis was performed using analysis tools Partial Least Square (PLS).The result of this study shows that not all of intellectual capital components have significant effect to financial performance and market value of the company. Innovation capital has no effect to human capital, but it has significant effect to customer capital. Process capital has significant effect to customer capital. Human capital has no effect to customer capital, but it has significant effect to financial performance and market value of the company. PENYULUHAN PEMENUHAN NUTRISI ANAK USIA DINI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstrak: Setiap anak punya potensi untuk tertular virus Covid-19 yang sedang merebak, diperlukan pencegahan dalam upaya memberikan proteks ada anak termasuk dengan memberikan anak tambahan nutrisi yang cukup agar anak memiliki daya tahan tubuh yang baik dan optimal. Hal ini belum disadari betul oleh masyarakat, disini garda terdepan untuk memberikan proteksi dan pencegahan serta dukungan untuk anak tetap terlindungi adalah guru dan orang tua. Permasalahan di POS PAUD yang ada di Kota Surakarta antara lain: (1) Penularan yang terus terjadi termasuk pada anak usia dini. (2) Kesulitan Guru PAUD dalam memberikan Pemahaman kepada orang tua dalam upaya pencegahan dan antisipasi penularan virus pada anak dan (3) pemahaman orang tua dalam memberikan nutrisi yang cukup sebagai upaya peningkatan imunitas anak. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini digunakan metode kolaboratif. Hasil dari pengabdian ini seluruh peserta memiliki pemahaman tentang pentingnya nutrisi pada anak usia dini sebagai pendukung peningkatan kekebalan tubuh anak dari serangan virus.Abstract: Every child has the potential to contract the Covid-19 virus that is spreading, prevention is needed to provide protect there are children by providing children with additional nutrients that are sufficient so that children have a good and optimal immune system. This has not been well realized by the community, here the forefront to provide protection and prevention and support for children to remain protected are teachers and parents. Problems in POS PAUD in Surakarta City include: (1) Transmission that continues to occur including in early childhood. (2) The difficulty of PAUD Teachers in providing Understanding to parents in efforts to prevent and anticipate the transmission of the virus in children and (3) the understanding of parents in providing adequate nutrition as an effort to increase children's immunity. In this devotional activity, collaborative methods are used. As a result of this devotion, all participants had an understanding of the importance of nutrition in early childhood as a supporter of improving the child's immunity from virus attacks

Peringkat Penyebab Kecelakaan Kerja Pada Proyek Kontruksi Gedung Bertingkat di Sidoarjo

Manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja sangatlah penting dalam pembangunan suatu proyek. Tiga faktor utama yang mempengaruhi penyebab kecelakaan kerja yaitu faktor manusia, faktor lingkungan, dan faktor peralatan. Oleh karena itu penelitian tentang penyebab kecelakaan kerja sangat penting dilakukan untuk informasi mengenai kecelakaan kerja, sehingga pekerja bisa dapat mencegah atau mengurangi terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manakah yang paling dominan sebagai penyebab kecelakaan kerja antara faktor manusia, faktor lingkungan, dan faktor peralatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pembobotan TEV (model analisi kuantitatif) untuk mengetahui nilai kepentingan faktor penyebab kecelakaan kerja dan untuk mengetahui tingkat kecelakaan pada faktor penyebab kecelakaan kerja. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa nilai harapan dari penyebab faktor kecelekaan kerja pada proyek Apartemen Sun City adalah 2,93 dan dapat dikategorikan sebagai kadang - kadang atau tingkat kecelakaan sedang. Dapat dilihat menurut profil data responden  diketahui yang menjadi penyebab kecelakaan kerja yaitu dengan usia responden 17 – 25 tahun dengan total 24 responden dengan prosentase 40 % dengan tingkat pendidikan SMP dengan total 35 responden dengan prosentase 58,3% dan pengalaman kerja sedang 6 - 10 tahun sebanyak 27 responden dengan prosentase 45%. Faktor manusia (0,377) adalah penyebab kecelakaan terbesar diikuti faktor lingkungan (0,335) dan faktor peralatan (0,288).
