Global behavior of cosmological dynamics with interacting Veneziano ghost
In this paper, we shall study the dynamical behavior of the universe
accelerated by the so called Veneziano ghost dark energy component locally and
globally by using the linearization and nullcline method developed in this
paper. The energy density is generalized to be proportional to the Hawking
temperature defined on the trapping horizon instead of Hubble horizon of the
Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. We also give a prediction of the
fate of the universe and present the bifurcation phenomenon of the dynamical
system of the universe. It seems that the universe could be dominated by dark

Experimental and Numerical Investigation on Progressive Collapse Resistance of Post-tensioned Precast Concrete Beam-Column Sub-assemblages
In this paper, four 1/2 scaled precast concrete (PC) beam-column sub-assemblages with high performance connection were tested under push-down loading procedure to study the load resisting mechanism of PC frames subjected to different column removal scenarios. The parameters investigated include the location of column removal and effective prestress in tendons. The test results indicated that the failure modes of unbonded post-tensioned precast concrete (PTPC) frames were different from that of reinforced concrete (RC) frames: no cracks formed in the beams and wide opening formed near the beam to column interfaces. For specimens without overhanging beams, the failure of side column was eccentric compression failure. Moreover, the load resisting mechanisms in PC frames were significantly different from that of RC frames: the compressive arch action (CAA) developed in concrete during column removal was mainly due to actively applied pre-compressive stress in the concrete; CAA will not vanish when severe crush in concrete occurred. Thus, it may provide negative contribution for load resistance when the displacement exceeds one-beam depth; the tensile force developed in the tendons could provide catenary action from the beginning of the test. Moreover, to deeper understand the behavior of tested specimens, numerical analyses were carried out. The effects of concrete strength, axial compression ratio at side columns, and loading approaches on the behavior of the sub-assemblages were also investigated based on validated numerical analysis

A new simple Young diagrammatic method for Kronecker products of O(n) and
Sp(2m) is proposed based on representation theory of Brauer algebras. A general
procedure for the decomposition of tensor products of representations for O(n)
and Sp(2m) is outlined, which is similar to that for U(n) known as the
Littlewood rules together with trace contractions from a Brauer algebra and

Pairing fluctuation effects on the single-particle spectra for the superconducting state
Single-particle spectra are calculated in the superconducting state for a
fermionic system with an attractive interaction, as functions of temperature
and coupling strength from weak to strong. The fermionic system is described by
a single-particle self-energy that includes pairing-fluctuation effects in the
superconducting state. The theory reduces to the ordinary BCS approximation in
weak coupling and to the Bogoliubov approximation for the composite bosons in
strong coupling. Several features of the single-particle spectral function are
shown to compare favorably with experimental data for cuprate superconductors.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Bank ownership, privatization, and performance: evidence from a transition country
This paper combines the static effect of ownership and the dynamic effect of privatization on bank performance in China over 1995-2010, reporting a significantly higher performance by private intermediaries – joint stock commercial banks and city commercial banks – relative to state-owned commercial banks. However, publicly traded banks, subject to multiple monitoring and vetting in capital markets, perform better regardless of ownership status. The privatization of banks has improved performance with respect to revenue inflow and efficiency gains in the short- or long-run (initial public offerings). The positive long-run effect is more relevant and significant for banking institutions with minority foreign ownership. Moreover, this paper innovatively estimates interest income efficiency and non-interest income efficiency at the same time. The results suggest that Chinese banks are much more efficient in generating interest income than raising non-interest revenue, although the latter aspect has improved significantly during the sample period
Corporate governance and bank performance in China
This paper examines the effects of corporate governance on bank performance in China over the period 1995-2008. Bank performance has improved significantly and the mean profit efficiency level is estimated at 61 per cent. The results suggest that differences in corporate governance have significant impacts on bank performance: banks with majority foreign ownership are most profitable while banks with majority state ownership are most unprofitable. We find no evidence that foreign minority ownership in domestic banks improves performance. Banks with more dispersed ownership are found to be more profit efficient
