O papel do pivot na produção da notícia: estudo de caso da SIC

Relatório de estágio apresentado à Escola Superior de Comunicação Social como parte dos requisitos para obtenção de grau de mestre em Jornalismo.Este trabalho centra-se na análise e estudo das rotinas, processos de trabalho e dificuldades dos apresentadores de noticiário, mais conhecidos por pivots. A minha vontade de analisar esta questão partiu do desconhecimento e ignorância da maior parte das pessoas que não estão ligadas aos jornalismo nem à televisão e que ainda hoje vêm estes profissionais como alguém que decora, lê e simplesmente apresenta o noticiário. Até começar o estágio na SIC, que vai ser retratado neste relatório de estágio, também me cabia a mim grande parte da ignorância que me levou a seguir em frente com este tema. A SIC foi a primeira empresa privada a criar um canal de televisão generalista no ano de 1992 em Portugal. Tem por isso muita história e faz parte da cultura portuguesa. O presente relatório de estágio refere-se à minha experiência como estagiária da SIC entre 2 de dezembro de 2013 e junho de 2014. Com esta análise pretendo responder à questão “Qual o papel ou contributo do pivot na produção da notícia” através de entrevistas feitas aos pivots dos noticiários da SIC, observação direta e análise de alinhamentos de telejornal.ABSTRACT: This work concentrates in the analysis and study of the routines, work process and main difficulties of presenters of the news nowadays more know as anchors or pivots. My will to analyze this questions came from the unknown and ignorance that most people that are not familiar with journalism or television seem to have regard the professionals as someone that decorates, reads and simply presents the news. Until I start the internship at SIC , which I will portrait in this work, I had the same ignorance that led me to work on this case. SIC was the first private company to create a generalist TV network in the year of 1992 in Portugal. Because of that, SIC is part of Portuguese history and culture. This study refers to my experience as an intern at SIC between 2nd of December 2013 and 1st of June 2014. With this analysis I pretend to answer the question “What is the rule or contribute of the anchor in the production of the news” through interviews to the anchors of SIC, through direct observation and analysis of the script of the news

Impact and ecological adaptation of Leptoglossus occidentalis (Hemiptera, Coreidae) in Pinus pinea

Doutoramento em Engenharia Florestal e dos Recursos Naturais - Instituto Superior de Agronomia / ULLeptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann (Heteroptera: Coreidae) is an invasive pest seriously damaging conifer seeds. Native from North America, the insect was first detected in Europe in 1999, and recorded in Portugal in 2010. Both nymphs and adults feed on seeds of several conifer species. Bug impact on seed production of Stone pine, Pinus pinea, is of major concern in the Mediterranean Basin countries because cone production and seed yield have decreased during the last years quite simultaneously to the records of L. occidentalis. Thus, the insect has been considered the most plausible cause of this decrease. However, there was still a substantial lack of knowledge about the effective impact of bugs and their ecological adaptations on Stone pine. My main goal was to add valuable and pertinent knowledge to understand the interactions between seed bugs and Stone pine. At first, a careful revision of all the literature available about Leptoglossus occidentalis was carried out, together with discussions with other European researchers working on this pest, in order to define the PhD aims. The PhD plan was then divided into three main issues. I first characterized and measured the importance of bug damage on seeds of Stone pine. In a second part, I investigated the ecological interactions between invasive bugs and Stone pine cones and seeds. Bug host preference was tested between Stone pine and the other two main native pine species growing in southern Europe (P. pinaster and P. halepensis), and cues possibly underlying such preferences were suggested. I also evaluated the impact of the bug in Stone pine seed orchards under two different management strategies. The Green Energy Procurement Policy and its Consequences: A Green Light to make Business Turn Smarter

Este trabalho de investigação foi produzido com o apoio do CIGEST - Centro de Investigação em Gestão, dentro da linha de investigação de Ambiente e Sustentabilidade.Concepts such as Sustainable Development and Green Procurement are increasingly present today. Green Procurement has a great overall importance in reducing environmental impacts regarding consumer goods and services and, consequently, the way of living in society as well as the whole world, in a Sustainable Development perspective. The general framework of the study focuses on the United Nations and the European Union‘s Green Procurement policy that has consequences on the Portuguese Energy Policy and affects purchases and businesses. The main concepts to develop are the Sustainability, the Sustainable Development and the Green Procurement. Green Procurement must be, implemented in a holistic way organizations and be in consumers concerns, by including environmental and social considerations into its acquisition practices. Lacroix (2011) defines Green Procurement by the following way: Green procurement is the purchasing of products or services which have a lower impact on the environment over their whole life cycle than the standard equivalent. A tradução de manuais de instruções: relatório de estágio na AP | Portugal

O presente relatório de estágio realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução Especializada, na Universidade de Aveiro, apresenta o trabalho levado a cabo durante o estágio curricular com a duração de seis meses na empresa de tradução AP | Portugal. Este relatório encontra-se dividido por partes, uma parte inicial em que se procura dar a conhecer a empresa, incluindo a sua estrutura, a metodologia e as ferramentas de trabalho que fazem parte do processo de tradução. Numa segunda parte é apresentada uma análise aos projetos realizados durante o período de estágio na empresa. De seguida é feito um enquadramento teórico no âmbito da tradução especializada e por conseguinte uma análise mais aprofundada daquele que é o domínio da tradução técnica, do principal interveniente no mesmo, o tradutor técnico e finalmente são apresentadas as caraterísticas do texto técnico. Ainda nesta parte é objeto de estudo o género textual em análise neste relatório, o manual de instruções, aqui serão apresentados os problemas, dificuldades e desafios que podem ser encontrados durante a tradução deste tipo de material, que serão fundamentados com exemplos práticos, nomeadamente alguns dos trabalhos levados a cabo durante o estágio curricular. Numa parte mais final é elaborada uma análise e reflexão de todo o trabalho realizado, e também de todos os conhecimentos adquiridos tanto a nível das tecnologias de tradução como a nível do domínio técnico e da tradução de manuais de instruções.This report carried out as part of the master’s degree in Specialized Translation at the University of Aveiro, presents the work carried out during the six-month curricular internship at the translation company AP | Portugal. This report is divided into parts: an initial part in which the aim is to get to know the company, including its structure, methodology, and the work tools involved in the translation process. The second part presents an analysis of the projects carried out during the internship period in the company. Afterwards, a theoretical framework is provided in the field of specialized translation, followed by a more in-depth analysis of the field of technical translation, with a special emphasis on the technical translator, and finally an examination of the characteristics of the technical text. The textual genre under analysis in this report, the user manual, is also analyzed in this part, with an insight into the problems, difficulties and challenges that can be found during the translation of this type of material, which will be supported by practical examples, namely some of the work carried out during the curricular internship. In a final part, an analysis and reflection of all the work done is carried, as well as an overview of all the knowledge acquired both in terms of translation technologies but also at the level of the technical domain, including the translation of instruction manuals.Mestrado em Tradução Especializad

O reequilíbrio de carteiras nos mercados financeiros internacionais: ouro, prata, câmbios e títulos do tesouro

Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar se o ouro, a prata, a platina, os câmbios USD/EUR e USD/GBP e as obrigações soberanas dos Estados Unidos da América (10 YR) podem ser considerados um porto seguro para a diversificação de carteiras nos mercados de ações da Alemanha, França, Itália, Reino Unido, Hong Kong, China, Japão e Estados Unidos da América, no período de 01 de janeiro de 2019 a 20 de outubro de 2020. Para realizar este estudo foram empregues diferentes abordagens de forma a responder se: i) os mercados do ouro, prata, platina, as taxas de câmbio USD/EUR, USD/GBP e as OT ́s dos EUA (10 YR) podem ser considerados um porto seguro quando os mercados financeiros apresentam quebras significativas? A verificar-se sincronizações acentuadas entre mercados, haverá comovimentos significativos que poderão colocar em causa a hipótese de diversificação de carteiras?. Os resultados sugerem 127 pares de mercados integrados (em 182 possíveis), os ativos como o ouro, prata, platina, os câmbios USD/EUR, USD/GBP e OT ́s dos EUA (10 YR) não apresentam as propriedades de porto seguro, estes achados rejeitam a primeira questão de investigação. Estimamos o modelo VAR Granger Causality/Block Exogeneity Wald Tests que evidencia 145 relações de causalidade (de 182 possíveis), estes resultados validam a segunda questão de investigação, as sincronizações acentuadas causam choques acentuados entre mercados. Por fim, utilizamos a metodologia IRF-VAR que mostram comovimentos significativos entre os catorze mercados, não existindo diferenças entre mercados de ações, taxas de câmbios, mercados de commodities e mercados de dívida. Em jeito de conclusão, podemos evidenciar a existência de sincronizações e comovimentos acentuados, estes resultados colocam em causa a implementação de estratégias de diversificação de carteiras eficientes.This dissertation aims to analyse if whether gold, silver, platinum, foreign exchange (USD/EUR and USD/GBP) and USA government bonds will be a safe haven for portfolio diversification in the financial markets of Germany, USA, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, China, Japan, in the period between 1 January 2019 to 20 October 2020. To perform this analysis where undertaken different approaches to analyse if: (i) the gold, silver, platinum, foreign exchange (USD/GBP and USD/EUR) and USA government bonds will be a safe haven when financial markets break down? (ii) If there are marked synchronism between markets, there will be significant movements that could call into question the possibility of portfolio diversification? The results suggest 127 pairs of integrated markets (out of 182 possible), i.e., assets such as gold, silver, platinum, USD/EUR, USD/GBP and US OT's (10 YR) don’t present safe haven properties, these findings reject the first research question. The results of the VAR Granger Causality/Block Exogeneity Wald Tests show 145 causal relationships (out of 182 possible), these results validate the second question of investigation, the sharp synchronizations cause sharp shocks between markets. To validate these results, we used the IRF-VAR methodology that shows significant movements between the fourteen markets, with no differences between stock markets, exchange rates, commodities and debt markets. In the way of conclusion, we can evidence the existence of synchronizations and accentuated co- movements between all the markets analysed, these results call into question the implementation of strategies for diversification of efficient portfolio
