The aim of current research is carrying out some modifications on the properties of resin material Unsaturated Polyester (UP) by adding thermoplastic material Polystyrene (PS) in different weight ratios included 4%, 8%, 12%,14%,16%,20% and 24% was used to prepare binary polymer blend. The best ratio was selected in terms of the homogeneity case between the two polymers and according to compression strength for all prepared specimens. The ratio 92/8 wt.% of UP/PS blend was selected and reinforced with different particle volume fractions of 1%, 3%, 5% and 7% using of TiO2 particles. The composite materials with unsaturated polyester-polystyrene matrix properties were evaluated by conducting the mechanical tests which included compression, hardness and impact resistance. Results of compression test showed that the compression strength decreases as polystyrene percentage (PS) increases. While the TiO2 an addition has helped in balancing the original compression strength reduction up to 3% vol. of TiO2 and then the strength decreases. The results confirmed that the best enhancement is of 3% vol. of TiO2 considering compression strength and impact. The SEM results indicate that the polystyrene particles have good distribution through UP, this distribution of smaller particles is responsible for lower crack growth. The SEM results of composites specimen show the TiO2 particles have good distribution through the matrix up to 3% vol., the mechanical properties beyond 3% vol. decreased due to the presence of particle agglomerations. They were not only willing to but also were applying learned theoriesin their practice. It also came into the knowledge that there were fewer gaps between novice teachers’theory and practice. It is recommended by the researchers suggested that these pre-service trainingcenters should develop a strong and viable link to make the theory more practical, operational and upto-dat

    Satori

Walking as a meditative practice strengthens a state of attention to the present moment and connects me to nature. In a moment of presence, nature discloses the interconnection of all things. These connections embody a feeling of oneness and provide a context to the world around me. Through acute observation and intuitive response, I record and contemplate specific information about my experience and translate it into space. By investigating form and space relationships created by light, I observe a bit of magic; emptiness with purpose, a portal for communal transcendence, the essence of beauty within and around form. Stimulated by my observations, it is my intent to communicate sentiments of stillness, ephemeral space and the temporality of nature. Satori is a Japanese term used in Zen Buddhism to describe an intuitive experience, a sudden flash of awareness, individual enlightenment and a feeling of infinite space. Awareness is the hitch connecting me to existence, nature to eternity and spirituality to physics. By working in nature, I am forced to be intimate with my surroundings, to feel with my whole body. I often feel this as a connection to place. I gather and record literal examples and document my emotive response with an object, photo, video, drawing, etc. Glass is the substitution for my experience. I employ glass to both contain the actual symbol specific to my connection and to express the abstract feeling of universal oneness. Fragility, transparency and reflection are qualities of glass that most accurately transfer this personal feeling into sculpture. Studio practice provides a stage on which my ideas can come to life. I look closely at the evidence I have recorded on my walks and go deeply into it. This separation from the original experience is a continuation of a feeling through material, a place to make decisions and research my observations. As well, it is a means to transform a personal moment into a universal visual language; from inspiration to viewer experience with form, space and material. As a result, I make sensitive choices about the type of material and method that may be most effective in communicating my concept. Experimentation, models, samples and sketches prepare me to technically interpret my concept into glass. I may use pate de verre, casting and flameworking techniques, among others, to create light patterns, reflections about place and organic forms. This process also allows me to answer questions about form, light and shadow, positive and negative space and if the overall sense is being conveyed clearly. Through this method, I visualize the outcome of the sculpture and consider options for presenting the idea that reinforce my concepts. From a walk, to a feeling, to a dialogue, to a practice--my work evolves. This is the sequence of my life. Every aspect is important when you live your work. Each flash of Satori, is a moment of self discovery. Making is the center from which I navigate the world

Longitudinal plasma proteome profiling reveals the dynamic biomarkers for prediction of cetuximab therapy response in colorectal cancer patients

Cetuximab therapy is the major treatment for colorectal cancer (CRC), but drug resistance limits its effectiveness. Here, we perform longitudinal and deep proteomic profiling of 641 plasma samples originated from 147 CRC patients (CRCs) undergoing cetuximab therapy with multi-course treatment, and 90 healthy controls (HCs). COL12A1, THBS2, S100A8, and S100A9 are screened as potential proteins to distinguish CRCs from HCs both in plasma and tissue validation cohorts. We identify the potential molecular features and biomarkers (RRAS2, MMP8, FBLN1, RPTOR, and IMPDH2) for the initial response prediction. In a longitudinal setting, we identify two clusters with distinct fluctuations and constructed the predictive model with high accuracy to predict the longitudinal response in the multi-course cetuximab treatment, which is further validated in the independent cohort. This study reveals the heterogeneity of different potential biomarkers for tumor diagnosis, the initial response prediction and longitudinal response prediction respectively in the first course and multi-course cetuximab treatment, may ultimately be useful in monitoring and intervention strategies in the management of CRC
