    Traces of Lorentz symmetry breaking in a Hydrogen atom at ground state

    Some traces of a specific Lorentz symmetry breaking scenario in the ground state of the Hydrogen atom are investigated. It is used standard Rayleigh-Schr\"odinger perturbation theory in order to obtain the corrections to the the ground state energy and wave function. It is shown that an induced four-pole moment arises, due to the Lorentz symmetry breaking. The model considered is the one studied in reference Eur. Phys. J. C {\bf 74}, 2937 (2014), where the Lorentz symmetry is broken in the electromagnetic sector.Comment: 8 Latex pages, 2 figure

    Drugstores in Costa Rica must comply with the Regulation of Good Practices for Storage and Distribution of Drug Products. One of the key points of this regulation is to verify that the quality of drug products is maintained and the best way to maintain it is to control the environmental conditions during storage. Temperature is one of the parameters that most affects the stability of drug products and therefore temperature mapping should be performed to establish in which areas is safe to store drug products. In this article we intend to detail the steps that a pharmacist needs to know to successfully perform a temperature mapping  Las droguerías en Costa Rica deben cumplir con el Reglamento de Buenas Prácticas de Almacenamiento y Distribución de Medicamentos en Droguerías. Uno de los puntos clave de este reglamento es garantizar que la calidad de los medicamentos se mantenga y la mejor forma de mantenerla es controlando las condiciones ambientales durante su almacenamiento.     Statistical critical reactive maintenance characterisation for digital twin implementation in universities

    Purpose: Facilities management (FM) plays a key role in the performance of businesses to ensure the comfort of users and the sustainable use of natural resources over operation and maintenance. Nevertheless, reactive maintenance (RM) services are characterised by delays, waste and difficulties in prioritising services and identifying the root causes of failures; this is mostly caused by inefficient asset information and communication management. While linking building information modelling and the Internet of Things through a digital twin has demonstrated potential for improving FM practices, there is a lack of evidence regarding the process requirements involved in their implementation. This paper aims to address this challenge, as it is the first to statistically characterise RM services and processes to identify the most critical RM problems and scenarios for digital twin implementation. The statistical data analytics approach also constitutes a novel practical approach for a holistic analysis of RM occurrences. Design/methodology/approach: The research strategy was based on multiple case studies, which adopted university campuses as objects for investigation. A detailed literature review of work to date and documental analysis assisted in generating data on the FM sector and RM services, where qualitative and statistical analyses were applied to approximately 300,000 individual work requests. Findings: The work provides substantial evidence of a series of patterns across both cases that were not evidenced prior to this study: a concentration of requests within main campuses; a balanced distribution of requests per building, mechanical and electrical service categories; a predominance of low priority level services; a low rate of compliance in attending priority services; a cumulative impact on the overall picture of five problem subcategories (i.e. Building-Door, Mechanical-Plumbing, Electrical-Lighting, Mechanical-Heat/Cool/Ventilation and Electrical-Power); a predominance of problems in student accommodation facilities, circulations and offices; and a concentration of requests related to unlisted buildings. These new patterns form the basis for business cases where maintenance services and FM sectors can benefit from digital twins. It also provides a new methodological approach for assessing the impact of RM on businesses. Practical implications: The findings provide new insights for owners and FM staff in determining the criticality of RM services, justifying investments and planning the digital transformation of services for a smarter provision. Originality/value: This study represents a unique approach to FM and provides detailed evidence to identify novel RM patterns of critical service provision and activities within organisations for efficient digitalised data management over a building’s lifecycle.</p

    Se provee información sobre un individuo de Amphisbaena alba (Reptilia: Squamata) que reconoce y usa un sendero de la hormiga cortadora de hojas Atta laevigata (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) en la sabana neotropical de Brasil. También registramos y describimos movimientos de desviación de obstáculos y el comportamiento de A. alba para reconocer el sendero de hormigas. Adicionalmente, discutimos cómo el mimetismo químico de A. alba pudiera estar involucrado en nuestra observación y sugerimos que esta relación va más allá de un simple inquilinismo, donde A. alba puede usar el nido como un sitio de reposo y alimentación para otros organismos asociados con nidos de hormigas cortadoras

    La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar los estados financieros de las empresas pertenecientes a la industria de la cerámica en el Ecuador a fin de determinar sus fortalezas financieras y a su vez poder observar cómo afecta el capital de trabajo a la rentabilidad de estas organizaciones. El estudio comprende el análisis de la situación económica financiera, haciendo referencia a los ratios más importantes de 4 de las empresas más notorias del país en el sector cerámico como son Graiman Cía. Ltda., Cerámicas Rialto S.A., Ecuacerámica, e Italpisos S.A. en el periodo 2013 - 2016; siendo este un periodo que permite observar la evolución financiera de estas empresas, así como también se podrá evidenciar la eficiencia con la que las organizaciones han venido utilizado sus recursos en el transcurso de estos años para lograr obtener beneficios.     Esse estudo tem como objetivo analisar um dia de geração em duas usinas fotovoltaicas: UFV1 e UFV2. Neste trabalho será calculado as perdas de energia do dia 26/05/2020, com condições climáticas normais, sem nuvens. A energia que é gerada pelos painéis solares será comparada com a energia que incide sobre os mesmos, evidenciando as perdas. A partir do cálculo de eficiência de geração, foi possível constatar que alguns painéis possuem quedas de eficiência, que variam de acordo com o horário, ligadas a um problema crônico de posicionamento ou sombreamento intermitente

    Interrelationship between potassium rates and the efficiency of Bt genes in the control of Spodoptera frugiperda

    O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar o efeito de doses de potássio sobre a resistência transgênica Bt e os danos causados por Spodoptera frugiperda em plantas de milho, em diferentes estádios de desenvolvimento. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso, em arranjo fatorial 3x6, com três doses de potássio (0, 45 e 90 kg ha-1) e seis híbridos de milho (20A55Hx, 30A77PW, AG1051, MG652PW, NS90VTPro2 e NS92VTPro), com três repetições. Os híbridos foram avaliados por meio de análise de variáveis canônicas. Com doses baixas de potássio, a eficácia dos híbridos de milho no controle da lagarta S. frugiperda diminui nos diferentes estádios fenológicos. O uso da tecnologia Bt é mais eficiente quando sob dosagem adequada de potássio de 90 kg ha-1 KCl.The objective of this work was to identify the effect of potassium rates on Bt transgenic resistance and damage caused by Spodoptera frugiperda in corn plants at different developmental stages. The experimental design was a randomized complete block in a 3x6 factorial arrangement, with three potassium rates (0, 45, and 90 kg ha-1) and six corn hybrids (20A55Hx, 30A77PW, AG1051, MG652PW, NS90VTPro2, and NS92VTPro), with three replicates. The hybrids were evaluated through the analysis of canonical variables. With low potassium rates, the effectiveness of the corn hybrids in controlling the S. frugiperda caterpillar decreases in the different phenological stages. The use of the Bt technology is more efficient under an adequate potassium rate of 90 kg ha-1 KCl
