La Mimesi. Progettare la dissolvenza nel paesaggio

Mimesi è un termine filosofi co oggetto di studi sin dalla Grecia antica e un concetto sviluppato in modo approfondito dai più grandi filosofi ci classici. Pla tone condannava la mimesi in relazione all’arte considerandola solo un prodotto di similitudini o di apparenze lontano dall’idea di Dio. Accetta la mimesi solo se si riferisce ad una copia perfetta mentre si parla di illusione se il prodotto non rispecchia perfettamente il modello. Nel pensiero di Aristotele la mimesi acquista un valore positivo poiché egli sostiene che non sia un semplice ricreare una copia esatta del modello originale ma, tramite la metafora, esalti i caratteri migliori o degradi gli aspetti peggiori. Per definizione mimesi significa imitare. L’uomo per natura tende ad attuare questo comportamento fin dall’infanzia, momento in cui, nel processo dell’edu cazione, si sviluppa la reciproca mimesi tra educatore ed educato che è alla base della trasmissione della cultura e si manifesta anche in età adulta nel desiderio di imitare una fi gura di riferimento. Con il nome di imitatioil concetto di mimesi ha avuto un ruolo importante du rante il medioevo. La creazione artistica, come tutti i comportamenti dell’uomo, dovevano rifarsi a Dio come supremo oggetto d’imitazione, fonte di creatività e riferimento per il raggiungimento della perfezione. Il mio intento è approfondire il concetto di mimesi attraverso quatto differenti criteri che permettono di arrivare alla creazione di un oggetto mimestico: il mascherare; l’ illudere; il reinterpretare; il confondere

Risk measures with the CxLS property

In the present contribution we characterize law determined convex risk measures that have convex level sets at the level of distributions. By relaxing the assumptions in Weber (2006), we show that these risk measures can be identified with a class of generalized shortfall risk measures. As a direct consequence, we are able to extend the results in Ziegel (2014) and Bellini and Bignozzi (2014) on convex elicitable risk measures and confirm that expectiles are the only elicitable coherent risk measures. Further, we provide a simple characterization of robustness for convex risk measures in terms of a weak notion of mixture continuity

Law-invariant functionals that collapse to the mean

We discuss when law-invariant convex functionals "collapse to the mean". More precisely, we show that, in a large class of spaces of random variables and under mild semicontinuity assumptions, the expectation functional is, up to an affine transformation, the only law-invariant convex functional that is linear along the direction of a nonconstant random variable with nonzero expectation. This extends results obtained in the literature in a bounded setting and under additional assumptions on the functionals. We illustrate the implications of our general results for pricing rules and risk measures

MIME - A Formal Approach for Multiple Investigation in (Android) Malware Emulation Analysis

In this paper, we propose a new dynamic and configurable approach to anti-emulation malware analysis, aiming at improving transparency of existing analyses techniques. First of all, we test the effectiveness of existing widespread free analyzers. We observe that the main problem of these analyses is that they provide static and immutable values to the parameter used in anti-emulation tests. Our approach aims at overcoming these limitations by providing an abstract non-interference-based approach modeling the fact that parameters can be modified dynamically, and the corresponding executions compared
