Cosmic magnetic fields and dark energy in extended electromagnetism

We discuss an extended version of electromagnetism in which the usual gauge fixing term is promoted into a physical contribution that introduces a new scalar state in the theory. This new state can be generated from vacuum quantum fluctuations during an inflationary era and, on super-Hubble scales, gives rise to an effective cosmological constant. The value of such a cosmological constant coincides with the one inferred from observations as long as inflation took place at the electroweak scale. On the other hand, the new state also generates an effective electric charge density on sub-Hubble scales that produces both vorticity and magnetic fields with coherent lengths as large as the present Hubble horizon.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures. Growth curve estimation for retinto beef cattle: practice aspects for tipification of weights

The growth curve in Retinto cattle from Extremadura and Andalusia is studied, taking in account the birthing sequence, season and type of birth, type of mating and offsprings sex. The function of lineal regression, Weight = 39.043 + 0.909 Age, was fitted. Excepting birth and mating types all other effects were significant in the growth curve.Se analiza la curva de crecimiento hasta el destete en dos lotes de animales procedentes de rebaños andaluces y extremeños de ganado vacuno Retinto. El mejor ajuste general corresponde a la regresión lineal de acuerdo con la ecuación: Peso = 39,043 + 0,909 Edad. Se estudió el efecto del lote, número, estación y tipo de parto, tipo de cubrición y sexo de la cría. Todos, salvo tipo de parto y cubrición, fueron significativos

We describe the present process of genetic improvement in Retinto cattle breed and the investigations supporting the selection program. The effects of different environmental factors have been analyzed. We have obtained the coefficients of correction for the significant effects for the repeatability of the variables and for the inbreeding coefficients. Also improvement plans are proposed.Se describen el proceso de mejora genética en ganado vacuno Retinto y los trabajos de investigación para proporcionar bases científicas al programa de selección. Se han analizado los efectos de distintas variables ambientales y obtenido coeficientes de corrección para los efectos significativos, la repetibilidades de los distintas variables y los coeficientes de consanguinidad para las poblaciones. Estrategias de emprendimiento y emociones de mujeres empresarias: Propuestas innovadoras en el contexto económico andaluz

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar en los discursos de mujeres empresarias diferentes acciones estratégicas de emprendimiento y diversas emociones que ponen en valor el funcionamiento facilitador de propuestas innovadoras. Partimos de la idea de que existen emociones asociadas a estrategias de emprendimiento. Para investigarlo se usa una metodología de corte cualitativo, seleccionando ocho mujeres empresarias a través de la Asociación de Empresarias de Sevilla, para la realización de dos grupos de discusión. Los resultados muestran la presencia de diferentes acciones estratégicas que concretan y caracterizan a otras estrategias generales como la gestión empresarial, la innovación y el liderazgo y el impacto social. Las emociones dan sentido a las formas de hacer empresa por parte de estas mujeres, detectando tanto emociones facilitadoras como bloqueadoras. Productive characterization of the Retinto beef cattle

We have studied 1863 animals, including males, females and offsprings, from the Retinto breed of cattle, belonging to different farmers in the Cadiz province. The effect of birth type, offspring sex, month of the birth, type of reproduction (artificial or natural insemination), age of the female and year of control, on weight and daily gains have been analyzed. Weak localization and electron-electron interaction in the layered compound CuFeTe2

The study of the electrical properties of the layered compound CuFeTe2 shows that there are three well differentiated conduction regimes depending on the temperature. Below TSDW ~ 300 K the formation of a Spin Density Wave (SDW) state has been reported, in the frame of a metal to non metal transition. Below 100 K (~ TSDW/3) the behavior of the electrical resistance as a function of temperature and magnetic field is attributable to the still present not condensed electrons (quasi particles) in the SDW state. At low temperatures (1.8 - 20K), low current (< 1 mA) and magnetic eld (0<H <6 Tesla), the effects of weak localization and electronic interactions in two dimensions appear. At intermediate temperatures (20 < T < 100 K) a hopping conductivity behavior is observed
