Isolation of the individual is here seen to be associated with its ability to adapt to working environment. Also pay attention to factors that can contribute significantly to the isolation of the individual and those are conflicts within the working group and poor workplace relations. The next section describes the essence of formation of isolation of a working group, which may be based on processes that are reasonably necessary for the functioning of the group, in its extreme extent, may have a negative effect on the group. Isolation should be seen as an impulse for change, which is closely related to the ability of learning. For this reason, the work also included the issue of organizational change, education of individuals and the use of creative techniques. These procedures can also serve as a prevention of isolation. The isolation of an individual and a working group within an organisation
The main point of the thesis is describe consequences of an isolation of an individual or a working group within an organisation. There could be many reason§ for an isolation of an individual. Very serious are conflicts between employees which could lead to some forms of bullying. The attention is payed to a defence against these negative phenomenon such as a well developed pro§ess of adaptation, quality system of communication within an organisation and responsible approach of an organisation leaders. The thesis also focuses on a working group which gets in an isolation. This state could not have a wTong impact on its members mental helth. But the satisfaction of group members with a current situation could be a problem. The state of an isolation is possible to manage by setting of change process. Although it was described a lot of ways how to peďorm a change its successfirl completion is very difficult and many attempts fail. Continued Smoking in Lung Transplant Patients: A Cross Sectional Survey
Smoking is associated with a higher incidence of post-lung transplantation complications and mortality. Prior to inclusion on the lung transplant waiting list in the Czech Republic, patients are supposed to be tobacco free for at least 6 months. Our aim was to determine the prevalence of smoking, validated by urinary cotinine, among patients post lung transplantation and prior to inclusion on the transplant waiting list
Selected biomarkers correlate with the origin and severity of sepsis
The microbial etiology and source of sepsis influence the inflammatory response. Therefore, the plasma levels of cytokines (IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10), chemokines (CCL2/MCP-1, MIP-1β), heparin-binding protein (HBP), soluble CD14 (sCD14), and cortisol were analyzed in blood from septic patients obtained during the first 96 hours of intensive care unit hospitalization. The etiology was established in 56 out of a total of 62 patients enrolled in the study. Plasma concentrations of MCP-1, sCD14, IL-6, and IL-10 were significantly higher in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP; n = 10) and infective endocarditis (IE; n = 11) compared to those with bacterial meningitis (BM; n = 18). Next, cortisol levels were higher in IE patients than in those with BM and CAP, and at one time point, cortisol was also higher in patients with gram-negative sepsis when compared to those with gram-positive infections. Furthermore, cortisol and MCP-1 levels correlated positively with the daily measured SOFA score. In addition, HBP levels were significantly higher in patients with IE than in those with BM. Our findings suggest that MCP-1, sCD14, IL-6, IL-10, cortisol, and HBP are modulated by the source of sepsis and that elevated MCP-1 and cortisol plasma levels are associated with sepsis-induced organ dysfunction
