    The Influence of Husband-Wife Interaction and Parent-Child Interaction on Family Subjective Well-Being in KB and Non-KB Villages

    Family subjective well-being is an evaluation of satisfaction related to physical-economic, social, and psychological aspects. This study discussed husband-wife interactions, parent-child interactions, and family subjective well-being in Pasirjaya Village. This study used a cross-sectional design. This study involved 120 families who were selected by stratified random sampling by place of residence; Family planning participating village (KB village) and Family planning non-participating village (non-KB village) in KampungMuara, Pasirjaya Village, West Bogor. The results of the independent sample t-tests showed a higher average in KB village on husband-wife interactions (dimensions of love, directing, and respect) and parent-child interactions (dimension of directing). The results of the regression test showed a positive influence of the marriage duration and parent-child interactions but a negative influence of family size on family subjective well-being

    THE EFFECT OF SOURCE OF STRESS AND COPING STRATEGY ON STRESS SYMPTOMS OF THE CUSTOMER’S FAMILY OF ILLEGAL LOANS

    Human needs are so complex that it causes a mismatch between expenses and income generated. Debt is an alternative that is chosen so that family needs are still met, even though being in debt is prone to stress risks. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sources of stress, coping strategies, and stress symptoms, as well as the influence of sources of stress and coping strategies on the stress symptoms of illegal loans customers' families. The subjects in this study were active illegal loans customers in Purwasari Village. The sampling technique used simple random sampling method, which included quantitative research, with a sample size of 60 people. Data and information were collected through direct interviews using a questionnaire. Data were processed using descriptive, correlation, and multiple linear regression tests. The results showed that almost all sources of stress were in the low category, all coping strategies were in the low category, and more than half of the stress symptoms were in the low category. There is a significant positive relationship between the number of children and sources of stress, sources of stress are also significantly positively related to coping strategies and stress symptoms. There is a positive influence on the number of banks and sources of stress on the stress symptoms of illegal loans customers

    Family-Friendly Kampong (FFK) Modelling: Developing Urban Resilience in Disaster-Prone Area

    Family-friendly integrated and holistic development is the principal solution for many socio-cultural, economic, and ecological problems of marginal families lived in a disaster-prone area. This descriptive-qualitative study at Panaragan Village Bogor city, a hydrometeorology hazard area, has elaborated characteristics and vulnerability of family and community, areal typology, family and environment transaction, also social environment vulnerability and quality. Data were collected from interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and observation then analyzed with a gap, potential, and SWOT analysis. Results showed that Panaragan had shown features as FFK, characterized by high territorial-bound, well-maintained social capital and leadership (formal and informal) strengthened with organizational facilities, well perception about the family condition, also superior awareness of potential threat and vulnerability in family and community. With diverse topography, FFK model based in hamlet (RW) level. FFK development was done with positive-labeling, intrinsic spirit of community cohesiveness, a satisfaction of acceptance and recognition, social piety, volunteerism, and generosity. Derivative strategy of FFK model aimed to find competitive and comparative excellence of community productive activities, provide chances for elderly to be senior citizen, escalate community leaders and youth capacity, upgrade public figures and religious leaders’ leadership, maintain inter-family communication and interaction, preserve community leaders’ motivation, and disseminate social environment maintenance burden.     Keywords: ecology family, family-friendly kampong, family transaction, urban resilienc

    Internalisasi nilai keluarga dan regulasi emosi: Dapatkah membentuk perilaku sosial remaja?

    AbstractThe study of the condition of the area of residence, internalization of family values, and emotional regulation, of adolescent social behavior, is important because the environment influences feelings, and as a motive for adolescent behavior. This study aims to look at the influence of the environment, internalization of family values , and emotional regulation on adolescent social behavior. The study was conducted in five schools in the Districts of Abadijaya and Mekarjaya, Depok City. The study participants consisted of 120 adolescents (men n = 60 & women n = 60) and 120 working mothers taken using disproportional random sampling techniques. Data collection using the Asian Value Scale-Revised (AVS-R), Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), and Maladaptive Social Behavior.     The Effect of Work-Family Conflict and Balancing Strategy towards Wive's Job Satisfaction

    This study aims to analyze the effects of work-family conflicts and balancing strategies on job satisfaction felt by families in working husbands and wives. The design of this study was cross-sectional with a sample of 160 wives in families with working wives who have children aged 0-9 years chosen stratified non-proportional random sampling in West Bogor and Central Bogor District, Bogor City. The data collection process carried out using a questionnaire. This study's results indicate that there is a significant negative correlation between work-family conflict and job satisfaction. Besides, theBesidesnificant positive correlation between the strategy of balancing family and work with job satisfaction. Based on the results of the regression test, the data show that work-family conflict and the balancing strategy have an effect on job satisfaction 22.2 percent, and the rest is influenced by other variables not examined. The implications of these results require a broader study for the elaboration of wives' job satisfaction factors

    Study in correlation between economic pressure and coping mechanism and its impact to family welfare in peasant in Indonesia are still less likely to be done. The general objective of this research was to analyze the correlation between economic pressure, financial management, and coping mechanism with family welfare of plantation women workers. This was cross sectional study that involved 87 families of plantation women workers who had under-6 years old children as samples. The data which was collected in April 2008 consists of primary and secondary data. The primary data consists of economic pressure, financial management, and coping mechanism that taken by using structured questionnaire. Result of the research shows that there are significant correlation between family size with economic pressure and between economic pressure with family welfare. It means that the bigger family size, then higher level economic pressure, and then lower the level of family welfare. There are positive significant correlation between education level with financial management and between financial management with family welfare. here are also negative significant correlation between sample’s age with subjective and objective economic pressure, and positive significant correlation between economic pressure with coping mechanism in reducing food and non-food expenditure

    The Effect of Decision Making and Value of Family Transaction with its Environment on Family Social Strength

    Family social strength positively correlated with family transactions and its environment. This study aimed to examine decision making and the value of family transactions with its environment towards family social strength. The study used a cross-sectional design involving 120 intact families who have children under five years old and selected by stratified disproportional random sampling according to their residence (FP village and non-FP village) in Village Muara, Pasirjaya, West Bogor. The analyses showed that family social strength had a positive correlation with wife’s education level, decision making, and value of the family transaction otherwise family strength had a negatively correlated with the number of family and children. The result of the regression tests showed that decision making and the value of the family transaction had a positive effect on family social strength, but the number of children had a negative influence on family social strength. The regression tests showed either with family or without family characteristics, decision making and transaction value had a positive effect on family social strength. Contrarily, family characteristics on the number of children, both with and without the dimensions of decision making and transaction value consistently had an adverse effect on family social strength

    This study aimed to analyze marriage readiness factors among young adults and to analyze its influences on the marriage age. Samples in this study were 110 college students. Qualitative data of marriage readiness was analyzed using content analysis approach, revealed seven factors that are emotional, role, financial, social, age, spiritual, and sexuality readiness. Quantitative data of marriage readiness was analyzed by using analysis factor, and revealed ten factors that are emotional control, empathy ability, financial, role, age, and sexuality readiness, communication skill, social ability, social cognitive, and tolerance. Based on the two analysis, marriage readiness factors among young adults were emotional (emotional control and empathy), social (social ability, social cognitive, and tolerance), role, communication, age, financial, and sexual. Marriage readiness between male dan female was different, for male the most important was financial readiness, but female was emotional readiness. Ideal marriage age for male was 26,3 and for female was 23,9 years old, but expected age to marriage of male was 26,1 and female was 24,2 years old. Statistic regression analysis showed that marriage readiness influence the marriage age. The increasing of empathy ability and financial readiness influenced on increasing age of marriage. Meanwhile, the increasing of age readiness, sexuality, and communication ability influenced on the decreasing of marriage

    Potential Fire Hazard, Vulnerability and Family Wellbeing of Jatinegara Public House\u27s Residents

    Public houses usually are a high density residential which leads to fire hazard, poor emergency services, as well as the highly increased of family vulnerability. This study aims to analyze the potential fire hazard, vulnerability, and subjective wellbeing of families living in the Jatinegara public house. The design of this study was cross sectional involving 157 families whom selected by stratified random sampling. The study found that age of wife and attitude towards the hazard of fire had a positive relationship to subjective wellbeing of the family. Social dimension and economic dimensions of vulnerability had a negative relationship with subjective wellbeing. Results of regression analysis found that age of wife and familiy\u27s attitudes toward the fire hazard had a positive effect on subjective wellbeing of the family, while the age of husband, income per capita, social vulnerability, and vulnerability of economic had a negative effect on subjective wellbeing of the family

    This research focused to analyze family stress management of landslide’s victims of Banyuwangi village, Bogor District. This research used cross-sectional design, involved 100 families who became the victims of Banyuwangi village’s landslides as samples. Results showed that stressors which gave the greatest impact on family life wereintrafamily and finances/business strains.The correlation test showed the higher the level of finances and business strains, work transitions and strains, the lower the level of family hardiness and the higher the level of family stress. Meanwhile, the higher the level of marital strains, the lower the level of family coherence and the higher the level of family stress. The higher the level of family social support, then the higher the level of family coherence and family coping strategy. The regression test indicated that family stress of landslide’s victim was influenced by stressor, family hardiness, and coping strategy focused on problem
