Voice signal processing has been proposed to improve effectiveness and facilitate the public, such as Smart Home. This study aims a smart home simulation model to move doors, TVs, and lights from voice instructions. Sound signals are processed using Mel-frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC) to perform feature extraction. Then, the voice is recognized by the speaker using a hierarchy Support Vector Machine (SVM). So that unregistered speakers are not processed or are declared not having access rights. For the process of recognizing spoken words such as "Open the Door”,"Close the Door","Turn on the TV","Turn off the TV","Turn on the Lights" and "Turn Offthe Lights" are done using Backpropagation. The results showed that hierarchy SVM provided an accuracy of 71% compared to the single SVM of 45%

Background Penetrating cardiac injuries (PCIs) are highly lethal, and a sternotomy is considered mandatory for suspected PCI. Recent literature suggests pericardial window (PCW) may be sufficient for superficial cardiac injuries to drain hemopericardium and assess for continued bleeding and instability. This study objective is to review patients with PCI managed with sternotomy and PCW and compare outcomes. Methods All patients with penetrating chest trauma from 2000 to 2016 requiring PCW or sternotomy were reviewed. Data were collected for patients who had PCW for hemopericardium managed with only pericardial drain, or underwent sternotomy for cardiac injuries grade 1–3 according to the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Cardiac Organ Injury Scale (OIS). The PCW+drain group was compared with the Sternotomy group using Fisher’s exact and Wilcoxon rank-sum test with P\u3c0.05 considered statistically significant. Results Sternotomy was performed in 57 patients for suspected PCI, including 7 with AAST OIS grade 1–3 injuries (Sternotomy group). Four patients had pericardial injuries, three had partial thickness cardiac injuries, two of which were suture-repaired. Average blood drained was 285mL (100–500 mL). PCW was performed in 37 patients, and 21 had hemopericardium; 16 patients proceeded to sternotomy and 5 were treated with pericardial drainage (PCW+drain group). All PCW+drain patients had suction evacuation of hemopericardium, pericardial lavage, and verified bleeding cessation, followed by pericardial drain placement and admission to intensive care unit (ICU). Average blood drained was 240mL (40–600 mL), and pericardial drains were removed on postoperative day 3.6 (2–5). There was no significant difference in demographics, injury mechanism, Revised Trauma Score exploratory laparotomies, hospital or ICU length of stay, or ventilator days. No in-hospital mortality occurred in either group. Conclusions Hemodynamically stable patients with penetrating chest trauma and hemopericardium may be safely managed with PCW, lavage and drainage with documented cessation of bleeding, and postoperative ICU monitoring.

Forest and land is a natural resource that is very potential to be used for national development. Nevertheless to forests and land are common threats and harassment that impede conservation efforts. One form of threats and harassment by the forest fires and land (karhutla). Land and forest fires in Indonesia is a problem that occurs regularly every year, especially during the dry season. Conventionally information delivery system is done by monitoring directly in the field, use a map and compass as well as the use of the gong in the villages as a tool to inform the public about the possibility of fire. Today, with the help of modern technology such as computers, telecommunications devices and the Internet many developing fire information system that provides information to map the locations of fire (hotspot). However, often the fire information display only hotspot in an area, featuring a fire-prone area served is not clear, and is not based on processing methods methodologically inconsistent, which tend to be subjective and dependent on the processing of data. Hotspot which appeared hundreds or even thousands, to minimize the danger of fire should be immediately sought a solution would have been to put it out, but by the number of hotspots that much is certainly not an easy thing to do. One determines the hotspot to be extinguished in advance will result in a more dangerous and greater losses. Planning activities for fire prevention and suppression requires accurate information, actual and easily understood by decision makers. Therefore, by utilizing advances in technology, it takes a Decision Support System (Decision Support System) to help determine hotspots land and forest fires are a top priority to extinguish based on the criteria that have been set. The proper method for application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Weighted Product (WP)

Metribuzin (MTB) is a herbicide widely used for weed control in growing soybeans and other crops and has been identified in many parts of the world as a groundwater contaminant. To prepare controlled-release formulations (CRFs) of MTB, it was entrapped within a sepiolite-gel-based matrix with one of two proportions of clay/herbicide and used as either a gel or powder after freeze-drying. To determine how its persistence in soil is affected by formulation and soil type, MTB was applied as a CRF or commercial formulation (CM) to soils with different properties. MTB dissipation in all soils investigated was reduced when the herbicide was applied as CRFs, especially in the case of sandy soil and the freeze-dried formulations, with DT50 values of 57.5 and 104.1 days, respectively, versus 24.8 days for CM. A positive relationship between degradation rates, bioactivity, and soil pH was found. MTB adsorption-desorption studies on these soils were also performed, and no relationship between adsorption-desorption and the degradation rate of MTB was found, possibly because of the low adsorption capacity of the studied soils. MTB when applied as a CRF remains active longer than CM, avoiding the need to use more frequently herbicide applications. This work was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) through Research Projects AGL 2005-00164, by Junta de Andaluc ́ıa (project P06-FQM-01909), and by AECID (project A/016047/08).Peer Reviewe

Novel system for reducing leaching of the herbicide metribuzin using clay-gel-based formulations

Metribuzin is an herbicide widely used for weed control that has been identified as a groundwater pollutant. It contaminates the environment even when it is used according to the manufacturer's instructions. To reduce herbicide leaching and increase weed control, new controlled release formulations were developed by entrapping metribuzin within a sepiolite-gel-based matrix using two clay/herbicide proportions (0.5/0.2 and 1/0.2) (loaded at 28.6 and 16.7% a.i.) as a gel (G28, G16) or as a powder after freeze-drying (LF28, LF16). The release of metribuzin from the control released formulations into water was retarded, when compared with commercial formulation (CF) except in the case of G28. The mobility of metribuzin from control released formulations into soil columns of sandy soil was greatly diminished in comparison with CF. Most of the metribuzin applied as control released formulations (G16, LF28 and LF16) was found at a depth of 0-8 cm depth. In contrast, residues from CF and G28 along the column were almost negligible. Bioassays from these control released formulations showed high efficacy at 0-12 cm depth. The use of these novel formulations could minimize the risk of groundwater contamination while maintaining weed control for a longer period.Peer Reviewe
