    Ωcγ→Ωc∗\Omega_c \gamma \rightarrow\Omega_c^\ast transition in lattice QCD

    We study the electromagnetic Ωcγ→Ωc∗\Omega_c \gamma \rightarrow\Omega_c^\ast transition in 2+1 flavor lattice QCD, which gives access to the dominant decay mode of Ωc∗\Omega_c^\ast baryon. The magnetic dipole and the electric quadrupole transition form factors are computed. The magnetic dipole form factor is found to be mainly determined by the strange quark and the electric quadrupole form factor to be negligibly small, in consistency with the quark model.     A combination of plasma DAO and citrulline levels as a potential marker for acute mesenteric ischemia

    Introduction: There is no valid and reliable diagnostic test for early  diagnosis of acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI). The aim of this study was to measure the plasma levels of diamine oxidase (DAO) and citrulline inAMI to gain insight into its early diagnosis.Material and methods: A total of 21 Wistar albino rats were divided into three groups, that is, control group, short-term ischemia group, and prolonged ischemia group. The superior mesenteric artery was occluded for15 min in the short-term ischemia group and for 12 h in the prolonged ischemia group. Twelve hours later, the experiment was terminated and plasma DAO and citrulline levels were measured. Intestinal tissue wasevaluated for the histopathological changes.Results: Compared to the control group, the short-term and prolonged ischemia groups showed significant increases in the plasma levels of DAO, whereas the plasma citrulline levels decreased significantly. Prolongedischemia caused a larger increase in the plasma DAO levels and a larger decrease in the plasma citrulline levels compared to the short-term ischemia (p0.011 and p0.021, respectively). Intestinal damage was shown to develop more in the prolonged ischemia group (p0.001).Conclusion: In the early period of AMI, the plasma DAO levels increase while citrulline levels decrease, and the extent of these changes depends on the duration of ischemia.Keywords: animal model; experimental; intestines; diamine oxidase; citrullin

    Radiative transitions of doubly charmed baryons in lattice QCD

    We evaluate the spin-3/2→spin-1/2 electromagnetic transitions of the doubly charmed baryons on 2+1 flavor, 323×64 PACS-CS lattices with a pion mass of 156(9) MeV/c2. A relativistic heavy quark action is employed to minimize the associated systematic errors on charm-quark observables. We extract the magnetic dipole, M1, and the electric quadrupole, E2, transition form factors. In order to make a reliable estimate of the M1 form factor, we carry out an analysis by including the effect of excited-state contributions. We find that the M1 transition is dominant and light degrees of freedom (u/d- or s-quark) play the leading role. E2 form factors, on the other hand, are found to be negligibly small, which in turn, have a minimal effect on the helicity and transition amplitudes. We predict the decay widths and lifetimes of Ξcc∗+,++ and Ωcc∗+ based on our results. Finite size effects on these ensembles are expected to be around 1%. Differences in kinematical and dynamical factors with respect to the Nγ→Δ transition are discussed and compared to nonlattice determinations while keeping possible systematic artifacts in mind. A comparison to Ωcγ→Ωc∗ transition and a discussion on systematic errors related to the choice of heavy quark action are also given. Results we present here are particularly suggestive for experimental facilities such as LHCb, PANDA, Belle II, and BESIII to search for further states.TÜBİTAK ; KAKENHIPublisher versio

    A novel fiber laser development for photoacoustic microscopy

    Photoacoustic microscopy, as an imaging modality, has shown promising results in imaging angiogenesis and cutaneous malignancies like melanoma, revealing systemic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, tracing drug efficiency and assessment of therapy, monitoring healing processes such as wound cicatrization, brain imaging and mapping. Clinically, photoacoustic microscopy is emerging as a capable diagnostic tool. Parameters of lasers used in photoacoustic microscopy, particularly, pulse duration, energy, pulse repetition frequency, and pulse-to-pulse stability affect signal amplitude and quality, data acquisition speed and indirectly, spatial resolution. Lasers used in photoacoustic microscopy are typically Q-switched lasers, low-power laser diodes, and recently, fiber lasers. Significantly, the key parameters cannot be adjusted independently of each other, whereas microvasculature and cellular imaging, e.g., have different requirements. Here, we report an integrated fiber laser system producing nanosecond pulses, covering the spectrum from 600 nm to 1100 nm, developed specifically for photoacoustic excitation. The system comprises of Yb-doped fiber oscillator and amplifier, an acousto-optic modulator and a photonic-crystal fiber to generate supercontinuum. Complete control over the pulse train, including generation of non-uniform pulse trains, is achieved via the AOM through custom-developed field-programmable gate-array electronics. The system is unique in that all the important parameters are adjustable: pulse duration in the range of 1-3 ns, pulse energy up to 10 μJ, repetition rate from 50 kHz to 3 MHz. Different photocoustic imaging probes can be excited with the ultrabroad spectrum. The entire system is fiber-integrated; guided-beam-propagation rendersit misalignment free and largely immune to mechanical perturbations.     Lepton polarization asymmetry in radiative dileptonic B-meson decays in MSSM

    In this paper we study the polarization asymmetries of the final state lepton in the radiative dileptonic decay of B meson (\bsllg) in the framework of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and various other unified models within the framework of MSSM e.g. mSUGRA, SUGRA (where condition of universality of scalar masses is relaxed) etc. Lepton polarization, in addition of having a longitudinal component (\pl), can have two other components, \pt and \pn, lying in and perpendicular to the decay plane, which are proportional to \ml and hence are significant for final state being μ+ μ−\mu^+ ~ \mu^- or τ+τ˜−\tau^+ \~\tau^-. We analyse the dependence of these polarization asymmetries on the parameters of the various models.Comment: typos corrected to match with published versio

    In this work we will study the longitudinal polarisations of both leptons in the decay process Bˉ→Kˉ2(1430) ℓ+ ℓ−{\bar B} \to {\bar K}_2(1430)\, \ell^+ \, \ell^-. This process has all the features of the related and well investigated process Bˉ→Kˉ∗(890) ℓ+ ℓ−{\bar B} \to {\bar K}^*(890) \, \ell^+ \, \ell^-, with theoretically comparable branching ratios. The polarised differential decay rates as well as the single and double polarisation asymmetries are worked out, where the sensitivity of these to possible right-handed couplings for the related b→sb \to s radiative decay (and other generic BSM parameters) are also investigated.Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures file

    Model Independent Analysis of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry for the B→K1μ+μ−B\to K_{1}\mu^{+}\mu^{-} Decay

    The sensitivity of the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry AFB\mathcal{A}_{FB} for the exclusive B→K1(1270)μ+μ−B\rightarrow K_{1}(1270)\mu^{+}\mu^{-} decay is examined by using most general non-standard 4-fermion interactions. Our analysis shows that the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry is very sensitive to the sign and size of the Wilson coefficients corresponding to the new vector type interactions, which are the counter partners of the usual Standard Model operators but have opposite chirality. In addition to these, the other significant effect comes from the interference of Scalar-Pseudoscalar and Tensor type operators. These results will not only enhance our theoretical understanding about the axial vector mesons but will also serve as a good tool to look for physics beyond the SM.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, Published version that appears in EPJ
