Social and individual in the speech of ural politicians
Changes in the sphere of contemporary political communication are discussed, new speech patterns in political lexicon are studied. General circle of words-concepts, being ideological clichés and presenting “new values of people” (on the basis of electoral programs and addresses to electorate by the candidates E. Roizman and A. Kosintsev), is singled out.
Specifics of the Presentation of the Image of Russia in Textbooks of Russian as a Foreign Language for Francophones
The article deals with presentation strategies for the target language country image, with foreign textbooks of Russian as material for analysis. Methods used in cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics (concept and context analysis) have been used to reveal mono-, bi- and multiculturalism strategies used in foreign textbooks of Russian for the Russian reality treatment.
Synthesis and luminescence of lead(II)-activated cadmium sulfide in poly(methyl methacrylate)
Optically transparent polymeric materials PMMA: Cd(Pb)S have been synthesized by polymerization of methyl methacrylate, which concurrently acts as a reaction medium for synthesis of metal sulfides, dispersion medium for the resulting colloidal solution forming during synthesis, and the base of compositions. Dependences of cadmium sulfide luminescence on the concentrations, concentration ratios of the initial compounds, reaction medium composition, and temperature have been established. The observed changes in the spectra are related to the introduction of lead(II) into compositions, complex formation on the surface of colloidal particles, and the effect of polar acetonitrile
Anisotropy of the paramagnetic susceptibility in LaTiO: The electron-distribution picture in the ground state
The energy-level scheme and wave functions of the titanium ions in
LaTiO are calculated using crystal-field theory and spin-orbit coupling.
The theoretically derived temperature dependence and anisotropy of the magnetic
susceptibility agree well with experimental data obtained in an untwinned
single crystal. The refined fitting procedure reveals an almost isotropic
molecular field and a temperature dependence of the van Vleck susceptibility.
The charge distribution of the 3d--electron on the Ti positions and the
principle values of the quadrupole moments are derived and agree with NMR data
and recent measurements of orbital momentum and crystal-field splitting.
The low value of the ordered moment in the antiferromagnetic phase is
discussed.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, 3 table
Orientational metaphor in Russian and Chinese languages
In Chinese and Russian cultures, there are specific spatial language guidelines and rules for the use of space in interpersonal communication. In cross-cultural communication, the divergence of spatial language vectors can lead to a conflict of languages and cultures. The study of spatial metaphors in the Russian and Chinese languages can serve as a way to avoid misunderstanding in language translation. The aim of this study is to identify the spectrum of spatial models of the world division on the example of language metaphors in Chinese and Russian languages.
Synthesis and absorption and luminescence spectra of poly(methyl methacrylate):Cd(Mn,Pb)S composites
The reaction of cadmium, manganese, and lead trifluoroacetates with thioacetamide in methyl methacrylate yielded colloidal solutions of metal sulfides with different Cd(II): Mn(II): Pb(II) molar ratios. The colloidal particles were separated from solutions and examined by electron microscopy. Glassy polymer composites poly(methyl methacrylate):Cd(Mn)S and poly(methyl methacrylate):Cd(Mn,Pb)S were prepared by thermal polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the bulk. The transmittance of the composites at wavelengths larger than 480 nm is 92% at the sample thickness of 0.40 cm. The luminescence of the composites in the visible range is associated with cadmium sulfide. The corresponding absorption bands were recorded in the luminescence excitation spectra in the wavelength interval 300–450 nm. The effect of the matrix, Mn(II) and Pb(II) ions, and synthesis conditions on the absorption and luminescence properties of the composites was determined
The use of game elements in the classroom learning a foreign language
The acquisition of strong language skills in the learning process and the choice of effective methods for the development of educational material is one of the urgent problems of language learning in primary school. The aim of this study is the problem of successful integration of lexical games in foreign language teaching in primary school. At school, learning a foreign language begins from the second grade. At the initial stage, the basis for further study of a foreign language is laid. During the period of study in grades 2-4, the teacher should do everything to form this base. Fruitful soil for this is cognitive activity, which is implemented in games that fully meet age characteristics of children of a primary school age. The success of learning a foreign language depends on the correct and adequate choice of game activity methods during the lessonby the teacher.
Stereotype “language behavior” in folk’s language consciousness (on the basis of proverbs collected by V. I. Dal)
Analysis of phraseological units (proverbs and sayings) is undertaken in the article, peculiarities of evaluation of the notions “speech”, “speaking”, “listening” in folk’s wisdom are studied. The authors depict positive characteristics of “language behavior” in proverbs and sayings.
Synthesis and luminescence spectra of poly(methyl methacrylate)/CdS:Ln(III) composites
Cadmium sulfide was prepared by colloidal synthesis in methyl methacrylate (MMA). Europium and terbium salts were added to the colloidal solutions. Using MMA radical polymerization, we synthesized PMMA/CdS:Eu(III), PMMA/CdS:Tb(III), and PMMA/CdS:Eu(III):Tb(III) luminescent composites. Their luminescence is due to defects in the CdS crystals and the 5Dо → 7Fj and 5D4 → 7Fj electronic transitions of the Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions, respectively. It depends on the composition of the materials, complexation on the surface of the colloidal particles, heat treatment time during synthesis, excitation wavelength, and other factors
Electron spin resonance and exchange paths in the orthorhombic dimer system Sr2VO4
We report on magnetization and electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements of
SrVO with orthorhombic symmetry. In this dimer system the
ions are in tetrahedral environment and are coupled by an antiferromagnetic
intra-dimer exchange constant 100 K to form a singlet ground
state without any phase transitions between room temperature and 2 K. Based on
an extended-H\"{u}ckel-Tight-Binding analysis we identify the strongest
exchange interaction to occur between two inequivalent vanadium sites via two
intermediate oxygen ions. The ESR absorption spectra can be well described by a
single Lorentzian line with an effective g-factor = 1.89. The temperature
dependence of the ESR intensity is well described by a dimer model in agreement
with the magnetization data. The temperature dependence of the ESR linewidth
can be modeled by a superposition of a linear increase with temperature with a
slope = 1.35 Oe/K and a thermally activated behavior with an
activation energy = 1418 K, both of which point to spin-phonon
coupling as the dominant relaxation mechanism in this compound.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
