Yüksek pozitif ekspiryum sonu basıncı nedeniyle oluşan pnömomediyastinum olgusu
A 26-year-old female patient, who presented to the emergency department with
chronic renal failure, general condition disturbance and dyspnea, was intubated
due to low oxygen saturation. The results of the blood biochemical test were
normal except for low saturation. Our case did not have any coronary artery
disease or obstructive pulmonary disease. While she was undergoing the positive
end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) treatment in the intensive care unit, the patient
was detected to have right heart failure on her echocardiogram examination and
pneumomediastinum was found on her direct radiography examination and on
chest x-ray and computed tomography (CT) on the 2nd day of her hospitalization.
The development of pneumomediastinum associated with PEEP for low saturation
appears to be a rare phenomenon. In accompany with the findings of the case, the
examination data and the literature information were prepared as a case report.Kronik böbrek yetmezliği, genel durum bozukluğu ve solunum sıkıntısı ile acil servise
başvuran 26 yaşındaki kadın hasta satürasyon problemi nedeniyle entübe edildi.
Satürasyon düşüklüğü dışında genel kan biyokimyasında belirgin patoloji ayırt
edilmedi. Olguda koroner arter hastalığı ya da kronik obstruktif akciğer hastalığı
yoktu. Yoğun bakımda, pozitif ekspiryum sonu basınç (PEEP) tedavisi altındayken,
ekokardiyografi (EKO) tetkikinde olgunun sağ kalp yetmezliği olduğu ve direkt grafi
tetkikinde, yatışının 2. gününde akciğer grafisinde ve bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT)
tetkikinde pnömomediyastinum tespit edildi. Düşük saturasyon için yapılan pozitif
expirium sonu basınç (PEEP) tedavisi altında iken pnömomediastinum gelişmesi
nadir bir durumdur. Olgunun bulguları eşliğinde tetkik verileri ve literatür bilgisi
olgu sunumu olarak hazırlandı

The Production of Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Alloy with Open Pore Structure as an Implant and the Investigation of Its Biocompatibility In Vivo
A dental crown material, Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum alloy, is manufactured using precision casting method from a polyurethane foam model in a regular and open-pore form, as a hard tissue implant for orthopedic applications. The samples produced have 10, 20, and 30 (±3) pores per inch of pore densities and 0.0008, 0.0017, and 0.0027 g/mm3 densities, respectively. Samples were implanted in six dogs and observed for a period of two, four, and six months for the histopathological examinations. The dogs were examined radiologically in 15-day intervals and clinically in certain intervals. The implants were taken out with surrounding tissue at the end of these periods. Implants and surrounding tissues were examined histopathologically in terms of biocompatibility. As a result, it is seen that new bone tissue was formed, in pores of the porous implant at the head of the tibia in dogs implanted. Any pathology, inflammation, and reaction in old and new tissues were not observed. It was concluded that a dental alloy (Ni-Cr-Mo alloy) could also be used as a biocompatible hard tissue implant material for orthopedics

This causes the children to feel a sense of love and gratitude towards his parents. Filial responsibility is examined with the perspective of parent and child. This concept represents that responsibility of children towards parent. Also, it includes that expectation of parent from their children. There are a lot of comprehension about filial responsibility. Electron paramagnetic resonance study of gamma-irradiated potassium hydroquinone monosulfonate single crystal
Gamma-irradiated potassium hydroquinone monosulfonate (PHM) single crystals were investigated between 125 and 300 K using the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique. Between 125 and 300 K no changes in the spectra have taken place. The spectra were found to be temperature independent. The investigation of EPR spectra of irradiated single crystals of PHM showed the presence of two PHM anion radicals. The g values of the radiation damage centers observed in the PHM single crystal and the hyperfine structure constants of the free electron with nearby protons were obtained. © 2016 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group
Electron paramagnetic resonance study of radiation-induced paramagnetic centers in succinic anhydride single crystal
Succinic anhydride single crystals were exposed to 60Co-gamma irradiation at room temperature. The irradiated single crystals were investigated at 125 K by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Spectroscopy. The investigation of EPR spectra of irradiated single crystals of succinic anhydride showed the presence of two succinic anhydride anion radicals. The anion radicals observed in gamma-irradiated succinic anhydride single crystal were created by the scission of the carbon-oxygen double bond. The structure of EPR spectra demonstrated that the hyperfine splittings arise from the same radical species. The reduction of succinic anhydride was identified which is formed by the addition of an electron to oxygen of the C–O bond. The g values, the hyperfine structure constants and direction cosines of the radiation damage centers observed in succinic anhydride single crystal were obtained. © 2017 Elsevier B.V

Causative Agents of Superficial Mycoses in Istanbul, Turkey: Retrospective Study
The aim of the present study was to determine the percentage of agents, which can give rise to superficial fungal infections in Istanbul, Turkey. Between 2000 and 2007, the clinical samples collected from 8,200 patients attending the outpatient Dermatology Clinic at Mihrimahsultan Medical Center were examined by direct microscopy and culture. Pathogen fungi were detected in 5,722 of the patients. Of the isolates were 4,218 (74%) dermatophytes, 1,196 (21%) Candida sp., 170 (3%) Malassezia furfur, and 138 (2%) Trichosporon sp. Among the dermatophytes, Trichophyton sp. was the most common isolate followed by Epidermophyton floccosum (243) and Microsporum sp. Among the Candida species, C. albicans (549) was also frequently found. Onychomycosis was the most prevalent type of infection, followed by tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, and tinea capitis.
