    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motorik halus anak Kelompok Bermain CERIA di Desa Cokro Kecamatan Tulung Kabupaten Klaten tahun ajaran 2014/2015 melalui finger painting. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anak didik usia 3-4 tahun di Desa Cokro Kecamatan Tulung Kabupaten Klaten tahun ajaran 2014/2015.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Data motorik halus anak dikumpulkan melalui metode observasi dan wawancara. Data Pembelajaran finger painting dikumpulkan melalui observasi. Teknik analisis yang digunakan meliputi teknik analisis komparatif, analisis kritis dan one-way anova. Sebelum pelaksanaan siklus diperoleh hasil anak yang mencapai belum berkembang (BB) yaitu sebesar 33,33%. Siklus I mencapai 75%, dan siklus II mencapai 91,66%. Berdasarkan uji F dapat diperoleh hasil Fhitung lebih besar dari pada Ftabel atau 47,378 ≥ 3,28, maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil motorik halus anak pada pra siklus, siklus I dan siklus II. Kesimpulan penelitian yaitu bahwa melalui finger painting dapat meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak di Kelompok bermain CERIA Desa Cokro Kecamatan Tulung Kabupaten Klaten tahun ajaran 2014/2015

    Arahan Penataan Lingkungan Kawasan Perumahan Swadaya di Kelurahan Tambak Wedi Kota Surabaya

    Pembangunan Perumahan swadaya di Kelurahan Tambak Wedi Kecamatan Kenjeran mengakibatkan pertumbuhan Perumahan secara incremental. Pertumbuhan incremental adalah pertumbuhan Perumahan tanpa adanya pengendalian secara spasial. Pertumbuhan secara incremental mengakibatkan lingkungan Perumahan swadaya belum tertata dengan baik. Sehingga diperlukan arahan penataan lingkungan kawasan Perumahan swadaya di Kelurahan Tambak Wedi. Analisa penelitian dilakukan mengidentifikasi karakteristik dengan analisa data kualitatif, kemudian untuk menganalisa faktor pendukung dengan analisa deskriptif dan Delphi, selanjutnya untuk merumuskan arahan penataan lingkungan kawasan Perumahan swadaya dengan analisa triangulasi. Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan arahan penataan lingkungan kawasan Perumahan swadaya di Kelurahan Tambak Wedi yang dibagi sesuai dengan kepentingannya ke dalam arahan mikro spasial maupun mikro non-spasial dan arahan makro spasial maupun makro non-spasial. Arahan mikro spasial seperti rehabilitasi bangunan semi permanen, pembangunan rumah susun. Arahan mikro non-spasial seperti peningkatan ketrampilan masyarakat melalui pelatihan kerja, pengembangan industri pengasapan melalui penerapan konsep smoked fish-to-go, dan revitalisasi sarana TPI. Arahan makro spasial seperti pembangunan sarana pendidikan-peribadatan-pengolahan dan pengeringan hasil tangkapan laut, pembangunan tandon umum (waduk), perbaikan dan pembangunan drainase, perbaikan jalan dengan melakukan penambalan, penambahan prasarana tempat sampah. Arahan makro non-spasial seperti pendampingan kader untuk menanamkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap lingkungan, peningkatan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap lingkungan melalui penerapan insentif-disinsentif, pembinaan dan sosialisasi pembangunan Perumahan swadaya, pemberian akses koordinasi antara (masyarakat-pemerintah-swasta), pemberian kemudahan penyerahan sarana-prasarana kepada pemerintah, pengembangan Perumahan yang dilengkapi sarana-prasarana pendukung nelayan, pendekatan stakeholder dalam mendukung penataan lingkungan kawasan Perumahan swadaya melalui bantuan institusi pendidikan

    Vascular endothelial growth factor directly inhibits primitive neural stem cell survival but promotes definitive neural stem cell survival

    There are two types of neural stem cells (NSCs). Primitive NSCs [leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) dependent but exogenous fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 2 independent] can be derived from mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells in vitro and from embryonic day 5.5 (E5.5) to E7.5 epiblast and E7.5-E8.5 neuroectoderm in vivo. Definitive NSCs (LIF independent but FGF2 dependent) first appear in the E8.5 neural plate and persist throughout life. Primitive NSCs give rise to definitive NSCs. Loss and gain of functions were used to study the role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A and its receptor, Flk1, in NSCs. The numbers of Flk1 knock-out mice embryo-derived and ES cell-derived primitive NSCs were increased because of the enhanced survival of primitive NSCs. In contrast, neural precursor-specific, Flk1 conditional knock-out mice-derived, definitive NSCs numbers were decreased because of the enhanced cell death of definitive NSCs. These effects were not observed in cells lacking Flt1, another VEGF receptor. In addition, the cell death stimulated by VEGF-A of primitive NSC and the cell survival stimulated by VEGF-A of definitive NSC were blocked by Flk1/Fc-soluble receptors and VEGF-A function-blocking antibodies. These VEGF-A phenotypes also were blocked by inhibition of the downstream effector nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B). Thus, both the cell death of primitive NSC and the cell survival of definitive NSC induced by VEGF-A stimulation are mediated by bifunctional NF-kappa B effects.     Salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan kegiatan ekonomi di suatu wilayah adalah dengan cara membuka akses untuk menuju wilayah tersebut. Tidak hanya membangun infrastruktur fisik, tetapi juga non-fisik. Namun pertumbuhan local interest (potensi lokal), akan menyulitkan calon pengunjung dalam menentukan pilihan, terlebih bila calon pengunjung tersebut tidak memahami wilayah. Hingga saat ini, ada berbagai situs yang memiliki tema yang berkaitan dengan lokasi. beberapa situs memberikan fitur peta dan sistem rating. Namun, sistem rating ini tidak cukup memberikan informasi mengenai kualitas lokasi. Untuk itu, perlu dirancang sebuah rancangan situs penyedia informasi potensi lokasl yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan informasi dan fitur yang dihimpun langsung dari pengguna internet. Rancangan situs ini menawarkan fitur peta lokasi menggunakan Google Map API, dan sistem multicriteria rating yang dioleh dengan metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) yang merupakan salah satu metode dalam Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). Children are not aware of what is good and not good in a moral sense. The memory of the children have not been strong, their attention quickly and easily switch to the latest stuff and the likes. In this condition they need to be familiarized with the behavior, skills, aptitude and a certain mindset. Based on the observations of the researcher who is also a teacher in the classroom, there are 21 children of 25 children (84%) had difficulty in storing the shoes in place, there are 18 children of 25 children (72%) had difficulty in opening their own lunch, there were 15 children from 25 children (60%) who have difficulty in returning the toy in place after use

    Experience using high-dose glucose-insulin-potassium (GIK) in critically ill patients

    Purpose To audit the use of GIK in terms of safety, haemodynamic effects, and impact on catecholamine dosage. Materials and methods A retrospective, descriptive, evaluative audit of GIK use within the adult ICU of a London teaching hospital was conducted. Rescue therapy of GIK (up to 1.0 Units insulin/kg/h) was administered to improve cardiac function. Outcomes were ICU survival, change in cardiac index (CI) and blood lactate levels, events of hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia, hypokalaemia and hyperkalaemia, and discontinuation time of catecholamine inotropes. Results Of 85 patients treated with GIK, 13 (15.3%) survived their ICU stay and 9 (10.5%) were discharged home. In patients surviving until 72 h, a trend of improved CI and lactate levels was seen, often with reductions in catecholamine dosing. Inotropes were discontinued in 35 (54%) patients. Severe hypoglycaemia ( 20 mmol/l), hypokalaemia ( 7 mmol/l) during GIK affected 1, 6, 8 and 1 patients, respectively. These abnormalities were quickly identified. No measurable harm was noted. Conclusions High-dose GIK can be safely used in critically ill patients, though blood glucose and potassium levels must be monitored frequently. GIK was associated with improved CI and blood lactate levels. Impact on survival requires prospective evaluation

    Sewage, a complex mixture of organic and inorganic chemicals, is considered to be a major source of environmental pollution. A random screen of 20 organic man-made chemicals present in liquid effluents revealed that half appeared able to interact with the estradiol receptor. This was demonstrated by their ability to inhibit binding of 17 beta-estradiol to the fish estrogen receptor. Further studies, using mammalian estrogen screens in vitro, revealed that the two phthalate esters butylbenzyl phthalate (BBP) and di-n-butylphthalate (DBP) and a food antioxidant, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) were estrogenic; however, they were all less estrogenic than the environmental estrogen octylphenol. Phthalate esters, used in the production of various plastics (including PVC), are among the most common industrial chemicals. Their ubiquity in the environment and tendency to bioconcentrate in animal fat are well known. Neither BBP nor DBP were able to act as antagonists, indicating that, in the presence of endogenous estrogens, their overall effect would be cumulative. Recently, it has been suggested that environmental estrogens may be etiological agents in several human diseases, including disorders of the male reproductive tract and breast and testicular cancers. The current finding that some phthalate compounds and some food additives are weakly estrogenic in vitro, needs to be supported by further studies on their effects in vivo before any conclusions can be made regarding their possible role in the development of these condition

    Bioindicative values of microfungi in starch and possible deficiencies of the new Serbian regulation on food hygiene

    The results of tests on the presence of yeasts and molds in cornstarch [AD ‘IPOK’ Zrenjanin, 2007-2008, made at the time when previous Regulations were valid] were analyzed in terms of bioindicative values of microfungi as indicators of quality and safety of raw material or final food products. Microbiological analysis was used to detect the presence of a number of microorganisms MMI-0001, and a questionnaire was designed at the Department of Public Health in Zrenjanin town (Republic of Serbia), where the anal­yses were done, regarding the microbiological tests on starch. In order to rationalize the analyses and make them more economical, several areas of product quality control (water, food, raw materials, space) were recommended either to be excluded or regarded as optional. Thus, analysis of presence of microfungi as indicators of product quality was categorized as optional. The results obtained from this research suggest a different conclusion because the bacteria in the samples indicated ˮmicrobiologically“, namely bacteriologically, safe samples of food, while, on the contrary, the presence of some microfungi as distinct xerophilous or xerotolerant microorganisms, indicated that the food was mycologically non-safe. The obtained data are crucial for questioning the decision to exclude the earlier required (mycological) analysis of the samples (in the production of starch, or end products, etc.) and categorize such analyses in new Regulations as optional, depending on the manufacturer’s preference. Bioindicative values of microfungi as indicators of the quality of starch, clearly point to the shortsightedness of the new Regulations on food hygiene and safety, where tests on certain microorganisms (in this case, yeasts and molds) are not legally defined as mandatory, but the Law leaves manufacturers a possibility to choose (or not to choose) the testing and frequency of testing on the presence (absence) of microorganisms, which can be risky, both in the production and marketing of the finial products.
