This study was undertaken with the aim to validate the assumption in JEM’s Theory on Intergenerational Visits to the Elderly, which states that Intergenerational visits promote socialization, that spirals into family solidarity, quality time shared; that affords the elderly parents more meanings, purposes, significance in their lives, the feeling of successfully aging, and make family relationship tighter everytime it happens. It is also to come up with narrative materials from the experiences of the informant-elderly during intergenerational visits, together with children, grandchildren, friends and relatives, before, during, and after the visitation. The method used is narrative inquiry. Interview schedules were used both in Filipino and English. There were recorded interviews and later transcriptions of them, then a story was woven entitled: “The Elderly and Life’s Channels: The Threads of Life”. There were six parents interviewed equal to six families. The characters in the narrations are representatives from these families. Findings proved that, “intergenerational visits to the elderly”, is a key factor to improve the social relationship between children and parents and between and among parents and children. Other findings were on the smooth and rough (conflicts) events in the family, but the latter mended by the faithful observance of intergenerational visits, which serve as the knot that binds family members together, because the former promotes socialization. It is recommended that Intergenerational visits be included in the yearly activities for the elderly people or the senior citizens, by their respective family members, often or even far in-between

Kata Kunci: Hasil  Belajar, Pembelajaran Daring, Game Edukasi ABSTRACT This study aims to measure the increase in student learning outcomes in online learning through educational game media Quizizz. This research is a descriptive quantitative study that focuses on evaluating learning using online media. The study population was all students of SD Negeri Kutowinangun 11 Kota Salatiga who were taught on thematic subjects using online methods as many as 21 students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle 1 meeting. Each meeting consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The implementation of the research stages is slightly different from classroom learning because learning is carried out separately or students are in their respective homes. Based on the results of the study, in the first cycle the average value of student learning outcomes was 51.43 in the sufficient category. Whereas in the second cycle the average value of student learning outcomes was 91.90 in the high category. So from cycle I and cycle II there was an increase in student learning outcomes by 40.47. Thus it can be concluded that learning media based on quizizz educational games can improve student learning outcomes in online learning on the theme of Globalization. Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Online Learning, Educational Game

Census Tract License Areas: Disincentive for Sharing the 3.5GHz band?

Flexible licensing model is a necessary enabler of the technical and procedural complexities of Spectrum Access System (SAS)-based sharing framework. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of 3.5GHz Licensing Framework - based on census tracts as area units, areas whose main characteristic is population. As such, the boundary of census tract does not follow the edge of wireless network coverage. We demonstrate why census tracts are not suitable for small cell networks licensing, by (1) gathering and analysing the official census data, (2) exploring the boundaries of census tracts which are in the shape of nonconvex polygons and (3) giving a measure of effectiveness of the licensing scheme through metrics of area loss and the number of people per census tract with access to spectrum. Results show that census tracts severely impact the effectiveness of the licensing framework since almost entire strategically important cities in the U.S. will not avail from spectrum use in 3.5GHz band. Our paper does not seek to challenge the core notion of geographic licensing concept, but seeks a corrective that addresses the way the license is issued for a certain area of operation. The effects that inappropriate size of the license has on spectrum assignments lead to spectrum being simply wasted in geography, time and frequency or not being assigned in a fair manner. The corrective is necessary since the main goal of promoting innovative sharing in 3.5 GHz band is to put spectrum to more efficient use.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, conferenc
