The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect that open, distance, and technology-based informal or non-formal learning has on the growth of students who had previously attended an Islamic boarding school. This perspective originates from the fact that it is anticipated that the community-based learning approach will comprise between 75 and 90 percent of his life once he completes his education at an Islamic boarding school. Nevertheless, education is not simply mirrored accurately in the learning literature; rather, it must be desire-driven and contain future business skills. The library research technique is what was used for the research for this study, and it was chosen on the basis of our observations of the current education system in Indonesia. This is done to ensure that the education that children get in Islamic Boarding Schools is not solely focused on receiving a formal or certified education, but also places an emphasis on the students' excellent accomplishments. The findings of this study will ultimately establish the feasibility of improved outcomes, as well as the quality of such outcomes, and will generate favorable effects

Among the many people that exist on earth, Allah chose Muslims as the khaira ummah or the best people because the Muslims had done good things, forbade bad deeds and had faith in God. Seeing the current situation, where crime, corruption and hoaxes are common in Indonesia, it makes us need to re-explore the concept of khaira ummah, especially Indonesia is a country with a Muslim majority population. M Quraish Shihab and Mahmud Yunus are mufassir originating from Indonesia who are the representatives of the current generation and early generations of Indonesian Muslim people who are involved in the study of the Qur'an. It becomes relevant when we refer to their interpretation to look back at the concept of khaira ummah and their similarities and differences according to both. So that in this research later it is hoped that it can add to the scientific treasury and provide insight into the concept of khaira ummah from the perspective of Indonesian commentaries, and is expected to be translated into the joints of life. To understand the interpretation of M Quraish Shihab and Mahmud Yunus on the concept of khaira ummah and their similarities and differences, this study uses a descriptive-comparative method. In this case, M Quraish Shihab interprets the khaira ummah as the best people issued or manifested for humans from the time of the prophet Adam to the end of time because of his good deeds, those that are considered good by the community also in accordance with divine values and always prevent deeds the abominable that is contrary to the divine values and believe in Allah by following His guidance and the guidance of His apostles and holding fast to the ropes of God and not divorced. While Mahmud Yunus interpreted the ummah khaira as Muslims who were born into the world with good character and good behavior and that was done solely in faith in God. M Quraish Shihab and Mahmud Yunus have similarities about the characteristics of khaira ummah and have differences regarding the object and time of the continuation of khaira ummah

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of tamsulosin, solifenacin, and combination therapy of two agents in improving the lower urinary tract symptoms of patients with indwelling double-J ureteral stents. Materials and Methods: A total of 168 patients underwent placement of a double-J ureteral stent after retrograde ureteroscopy for urinary stone disease. All patients received polyurethane double-J ureteral stents (6 Fr, 24 or 26 cm), which were removed a mean of 14 days postoperatively. A total of 48 patients were given no medication (Group 1), 43 patients were given tamsulosin 0.2 mg once daily (Group 2), 45 patients were given solifenacin 5 mg once daily (Group 3), and 32 patients were given a combination of two agents postoperatively (Group 4). International Prostate Symptom Score/quality of life (IPSS/QoL) and visual analogue pain scale (VAPS) questionnaires were completed by each patient at 1 day postoperatively and on the day of stent removal. Results: In the total group of patients, the mean age was 50.24±12.90 years. There was a significant difference in the IPSS total score between group 1 and groups 3 and 4. Group 4 also differed significantly from group 1 in the irritative subscore. The obstructive subscore differed between groups 2 and 4 and group 1. There was a statistically significant difference between group 1 and group 4 in the QoL score. There were no significant differences in the VAPS. Conclusions: Combination therapy with tamsulosin and solifenacin improved both irritative and obstructive symptoms more than in the other groups. Combination therapy should be strongly considered for patients who complain of stent-related symptoms. Ureteral Stent Retrieval Using the Crochet Hook Technique in Females

    Get PDF
INTRODUCTION: We developed a method for ureteral stent removal in female patients that requires no cystoscopy or fluoroscopic guidance using a crochet hook. In addition, we also investigated the success rate, complications and pain associated with this procedure. METHODS: A total of 40 female patients (56 stents) underwent the removal of ureteral stents. All procedures were carried out with the patients either under anesthesia, conscious sedation, or analgesic suppositories as deemed appropriate for each procedure including Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL), Ureteroscopy (URS), Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and ureteral stent removal. At the time of these procedures, fluoroscopy and/or cystoscopy were prepared, but they were not used unless we failed to successfully remove the ureteral stent using the crochet hook. In addition, matched controls (comprising 50 stents) which were removed by standard ureteral stent removal using cystoscopy were used for comparison purposes. RESULTS: A total of 47 of the 56 stents (83.9%) were successfully removed. In addition, 47 of 52 (90.4%) were successfully removed except for two migrated stents and two heavily encrusted stents which could not be removed using cystoscopy. Ureteral stent removal using the crochet hook technique was unsuccessful in nine patients, including two encrustations and two migrations. Concerning pain, ureteral stent removal using the crochet hook technique showed a lower visual analogue pain scale (VAPS) score than for the standard technique using cystoscopy. CONCLUSIONS: Ureteral stent removal using a crochet hook is considered to be easy, safe, and cost effective. This technique is also easy to learn and is therefore considered to be suitable for use on an outpatient basis
