Calculated Electronic Energy Loss of Heavy Ions at Low Energies in LR-115, Kapton, SiO2, and Al2O3 Amorphous Materials
The electronic stopping powers of LR-115 and Kapton polymeric foilshave been estimated, using Monte Carlo simulations, for 9Be, 11B, 12C, 14N, 16O, and 35Cl ions covering the energy range ~0.1-1.0 MeV/n. Comparison of stopping power based on Lindhard, Scharff, and Schiott (LSS) theory with the corresponding values obtained by SRIM and MSTAR codes in LR-115 and Kapton polymeric foils illustrate a significantly large deviations. However, a semiempirical equation has been proposed here and tested for better stopping power calculations at low-energy regime in the domain of LSS theory for ZÂ =Â 4-8 ions across materials. Furthermore, the electronic energy losses for 9Be and 16O ions in SiO2 and Al2O3, respectively, have been calculated in the energy range of ~0.1-1.0 MeV/n. The calculated stopping powers exhibit up to 10 % deviation from the experimental values and MSTAR data
Transient mutism after anterior transcallosal approach
Postoperative mutism is an infrequent complication of brain surgery. We report a third ventricular astrocytoma in a 16-year-old boy. The tumor was totally removed via anterior transcallosal approach. The operation was uneventful. On the second postoperative day he became mute. He could follow verbal commands, and write and read. Histopathological examination revealed a pilocystic astrocytoma. Four days postoperatively, he began to say simple words, and two weeks later he could talk normally. The possible cause and pathophysiological mechanism of mutism in the lesions of this region are discussed in this paperKey words: Mutism; Third ventricle; Corpus callosum; Transcallosal approac
The spatial variability of water quality in the Mediterranean of eastern Morocco
Thirty sampling stations were surveyed each season during the period 2013-2015 in the objective to determine the water quality in the coastal areas between Saidia and Cala Iris. The CPA Analysis shows 5 groups associated following the water quality of 12 components. Only the sites close to the agglomerations bordering the lagoon of Nador and Al Hoceima show high values of BOD5, Nitrites and PO4. This deterioration of the water quality observed in some coastal sites explains in large part their low richness of the biodiversity of the algae
The philosophy of energy consumption in North Africa, contribution of artificial intelligence
Some people in North Africa have been accustomed to getting everything, from the consumption of various goods, to luxurious housing, to travel from one country to another, unaware that the necessities of this way of life are very energy intensive. These countries, too, are unaware of the importance and necessity of opening up to each other in order to work together to raise awareness of energy consumption. Through this research, which is based on a scientific approach combining technology, human and social sciences and statistical studies, we have tried to highlight the importance of logical energy consumption while explaining that the consequences will be unexpected in the future in the event of an energy shortage in North Africa

CONTRIBUTION TO THE EVALUATION OF THE PHYSICO-CHEMICAL QUALITY OF THE SUPERFICIAL WATERS OF THE OUED ZEGZEL (MOROCCAN NORTHEAST)
Data on water quality of Oued Zegzel and the characteristics of the sources of degradation are few and far between. In this context, this study concerns the analysis of 18 physico-chemical parameters (SF, T°, pH, O2, SM, EC, TDS, Sal, Cl-, SO42-, Ca2+, Mg2+, TH, NH4+, NO3-, NO2-, PO43-, Oxid) of the waters of this Oued in order to establish a diagnosis of the state of pollution of the surface waters of this river. Thus, water samples were taken from six stations during One year from October 2017 to September 2018 to allow a comparison between the low-water period and the flood period. The analysis results show that the waters of the stations are bicarbonated with calcium and magnesium, reflecting the geological and pedological nature of the terrain crossed by this watercourse. The values of most of the parameters analyzed generally indicate that the waters of Oued Zegzel are good to excellent quality according to the Moroccan surface water standards. Thus, the results of the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) revealed two gradients. The first reflects the degree of organic pollution, while the second describes the mineralization of water. In addition, this PCA made it possible to discriminate between stations according to their physico-chemical data.
