Nonsmooth analysis of doubly nonlinear evolution equations

In this paper we analyze a broad class of abstract doubly nonlinear evolution equations in Banach spaces, driven by nonsmooth and nonconvex energies. We provide some general sufficient conditions, on the dissipation potential and the energy functional,for existence of solutions to the related Cauchy problem. We prove our main existence result by passing to the limit in a time-discretization scheme with variational techniques. Finally, we discuss an application to a material model in finite-strain elasticity.Comment: 45 page

Das Hamartom - eine seltene nasaopharyngeale Pathologie als Ursache einer Nasenatmungsbehinderung

Vorgestellt wird der Fall eines 44-jährigen Patienten, der über eine beidseitige Nasenatmungsbehinderung und Fremdkörpergefühl klagte. Im Nasopharynx wurde eine polypoide Raumforderung entdeckt, die später vollständig exzidiert wurde. Die histologische Untersuchung ergab ein Adenomatoides Hamartom des respiratorischen Epithels. Sinunasale Hamartome sind benigne polypoide Läsionen. Hamartome sind selbstlimitierend, neigen aber nicht zur spontanen Rückbildung. Die zu bedenkenden klinischen Differentialdiagnosen sind altersabhängig: Kinder- und Jugendalter: Adenoide Vegetationen, Choanalatresie, Fremdkörper, juvenile Nasenrachenfibrome. Erwachsenenalter: Nasenmuschelhyperplasie, Septumdeviation, Polyposis nasi, seltener: Tumoren wie z.B. invertiertes Papillom oder Adenocarcinom.Therapie der ersten Wahl ist die vollständige chirurgische Exzision

Data quality using non-mandatory check for completeness in emergency electronic record

Objective: Compliance with documentation according to minimal emergency data set 2 (MIND2) can be supported by emergency electronic record. To explore which data quality can be achieved by non-mandatory check for completeness. Methods: 728 consecutive emergency physician calls which were primarily documented using an emergency electronic record were analysed retrospectively. All data which checked for completeness according to minimal emergency data set were retrieved. Results: 64.0% cases showed at least one missing data. Single items showed a variance between 0% and 39.6%. Conclusion: A non-mandatory check for completeness is not adequate for satisfying data quality in emergency electronic record
