On dynamical adjoint functor
We give an explicit formula relating the dynamical adjoint functor and
dynamical twist over nonalbelian base to the invariant pairing on parabolic
Verma modules. As an illustration, we give explicit - and
-invariant star product on projective spaces
Without a rash! A diagnostic dilemma for VZV vasculopathy
Varicella zoster virus vasculopathy is a condition that can classically present with a dermatomal zoster rash followed by a neurological deficit. The possible neurological manifestations and disease range are extensive. Diagnosis becomes more challenging in patients whose presentation does not include a rash, often causing cognitive errors and delay in treatment. We present a case of an 85-year-old patient, who developed stroke-like symptoms, initially with normal MRI, to later progress to multiple evolving enhancing lesions seen in subsequent MRIs. This case also represents the anchoring, that we as physicians can have when a patient with risk factors for stroke or TIA, presents to the emergency department complaining of unilateral weakness
Monitoring of patogen parasites in waste waters of agricultural industries
Las aguas residuales son potenciales
portadoras de enteroparásitos patógenos
para el hombre cuya dosis infectiva puede
ser mínima y prolongado el tiempo de
sobrevivencia de huevos y quistes en el
ambiente.
Respecto
a helmintos, es necesario un estudio
comparativo de las técnicas de detección
para efluentes agroindustriales, con el fin de
establecer las que optimicen su recuperación.
En cuanto a otras especies es preciso
continuar investigando su presencia para
evaluar la conveniencia de incorporarlas a
la reglamentación.Wastewaters are potential human's
pathogenic parasite carriers which could be
infective in small quantities. Besides, the
eggs and cysts survival time could be
prolonged. Regulation, restricts helminths
eggs presence and, until 2000, did not
propose a detection technique. This research
aims to the parasitological characterization
of waste water from agrarian industries.
Training about microscopical identification
led us to write a helminths eggs
characteristics description. Since the
detection of pollution points, essays were
made with samples from wine vault and olive
oil factories. Techniques were adapted,
according to wastewater peculiarities.
The results did not show helminths
presence, but we found Cyclospora and
Isospora. They are protozoa whose high
infective power makes them a human health
risk. However, they are not included in
current legislation. With respect to helminths,
we concluded that it is important to make a
detection techniques comparative study for
wastewater in order to establish which one
is the best for helminths recovery.
Since other species identification, it is
necessary to investigate their presence in
order to evaluate the convenience of
incorporating them to water regulation.Fil: Enriquez, Verónica L..

Anxious Activists? Examining Immigration Policy Threat, Political Engagement, and Anxiety among College Students with Different Self/Parental Immigration Statuses
Restrictive immigration policies harm the mental health of undocumented immigrants and their U.S. citizen family members. As a sociopolitical stressor, threat to family due to immigration policy can heighten anxiety, yet it is unclear whether political engagement helps immigrant-origin students to cope. We used a cross-sectional survey of college students from immigrant families (N = 2,511) to investigate whether anxiety symptomatology was associated with perceived threat to family and if political engagement moderated this relationship. We stratified analyses by self/parental immigration statuses-undocumented students, U.S. citizens with undocumented parents, and U.S. citizens with lawfully present parents-to examine family members' legal vulnerability. Family threat was significantly associated with anxiety; higher levels of political engagement reduced the strength of this relationship. However, this moderation effect was significant only for U.S. citizens with lawfully present parents. These findings emphasize the importance of the family immigration context in shaping individuals' mental health outcomes
A kapwa-infused paradigm in teaching Catholic theology/catechesis in a multireligious classroom in the Philippines
The increasing religious diversity in educational space has raised a legitimate question on how Catholic theology/ catechesis must be taught in Philippine Catholic universities given the institutional mandate to educate students “into the faith of the Church through teaching of Christian doctrine in an organic and systematic way” (Wuerl, 2013, 1). On this note, the paper makes reference to “centered plural- ism” (CP), a positional posture espoused by Georgetown University in dealing with this predicament. In an attempt to (re) appropriate CP into local context, there is a need to explore the Filipino conception of self/others as enveloped within the indigenous concept of kapwa. Hereon, the paper finds that CP is not just feasibly suitable in local context but with kapwa's more inclusive description of the relationship of self and others, a CP‐based teaching paradigm in theology/ catechesis is a promising project in the educational scene of the Philippines
