    An advanced method for sea ice concentration retrieval from satellite microwave radiometer measurements at frequencies near 90 GHz is presented. The method is based on the new approach for the determination of the tie points ― the polarization differences (PD) of the brightness temperatures (TB) of the ocean-atmosphere system (PDW) and the sea ice-atmosphere system microwave radiation (PDSI). The approach is based on the results of physical modeling of the sea ice – ocean – atmosphere TB and the analysis of the measurements of the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2) in the Arctic region. The TB simulation is carried out for the whole ranges of the Arctic atmospheric conditions and sea ice and ocean parameters. The method of sea ice concentration (SIC) retrieval uses PD in measurements on the vertical and horizontal polarization at the frequency of 89 GHz and the values of tie points over the ice-free sea surface and over the sea ice. The range of PDW and PDSI variability is analyzed basing on the AMSR2 measurement data and the results of TB model calculations. The advancement of the method as compared to those traditionally used is the use of variable PDW values depending on how far from the sea ice edge is the pixel for which C is estimated. The method was tested using the maps of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (NMI) for the Northeren, Kara and Barents seas. The error of SIC estimation, calculated using the new method, turned out to be 4.2 %, which is almost two times lower than the error of the standard product of the University of Bremen, calculated using the same verification data set

Experiments on frog neuromuscular preparations were performed to study the characteristics of the calcium response and the quantum secretion of acetylcholine in different pats of extended nerve terminals in different conditions of calcium influx. A calcium-sensitive fluorescent dye was used to analyze Ca2+ influx (Ca2+ transients) into the proximal and distal parts of nerve endings in conditions of increased K+ ion content, in response to blockers of N- and L-type calcium channels, and on blockade of calcium-activated potassium channels. These studies showed that at a uniform distribution density of voltage-gated calcium channels along nerve endings, the proximal-to-distal decrement in calcium transients and quantum secretion intensity persisted in conditions of additional opening of voltage-gated calcium channels by potassium depolarization, on “thinning” of these channels using specific blockers, but changed on blockade of calcium-activated potassium channels

    Power flows in multi-junction power supply circuits

    The article discusses a methodology that allows for an accurate calculation of the parameters of electrical equipment from the point of view of optimizing the power supply system. Taking into account the characteristics of transients processes makes it possible to select equipment in maximum load modes. Modeling of power flows caused by changes in the load of consumers is carried out on the example of calculating the power supply circuit of five junctions. It is shown that it is possible to change the direction of flows of transmitted electric power at certain ratios of parameters in individual elements of the circuit. Purpose of research: to show the possibility of changing the picture of the transmitted capacities by the elements of the power supply system, depending on consumer loads

With this mutation, a frameshift occurs at 69-th position (p.Gly69fs, NM_001031726.3), which usually leads to neurodegeneration with the brain iron accumulation (NBIA), type 4 (OMIM: 614298). In described clinical case the main complaint of patient was visual impairment, with magnetic resonance imaging patient revealed only the expansion of the sellar fossa. The vision of 7-year-old boy decreased significantly for 2 years without any apparent reasons, spectacle correction did not give an improvement in vision to 100%. During the examination partial atrophy of the optic nerves was revealed, consultations were conducted with a neurologist, neurophthalmologist. Hyperreflexia, gait changes, and a slight delay in speech development were also revealed. No other clinical neurological symptoms were observed. The article describes a detailed ophthalmic clinical picture, discusses diagnostic and therapeutic tactics. Проанализированы данные 65 больных, получавших анти-IgE терапию омализумабом более 6 мес, в 6 центрах РФ с 2007 по 2010 гг. Результаты проведенного анализа свидетельствуют о безопасности и высокой клинической эффективности анти- IgE-терапии у детей и подростков с тяжелой неконтролируемой атопической бронхиальной астмой. Полного контроля болезни или выраженного улучшения удалось достичь у 73% пациентов, эффект в большинстве случаев значимо нарастает в первые 6 мес лечения и является стабильным в дальнейшем, обеспечивая хорошее качество жизни и нормальные показатели функции легких.
