    Competency-based approach and competencies in higher education: a theoretical review

New requirements for the model and quality of the graduate appear, and new approaches to their competitiveness and effectiveness appear. The authors analyzed the concepts of a competency-based approach, competence, developed characteristic features and the field of implementation of these definitions in higher education. It has been established that a qualitatively new mission, tasks and content of modern education in the new conditions should be focused not only on fundamental knowledge, but also on the formation of practically oriented skills and competencies

    Long-Time Asymptotics of Perturbed Finite-Gap Korteweg-de Vries Solutions

    We apply the method of nonlinear steepest descent to compute the long-time asymptotics of solutions of the Korteweg--de Vries equation which are decaying perturbations of a quasi-periodic finite-gap background solution. We compute a nonlinear dispersion relation and show that the x/tx/t plane splits into g+1g+1 soliton regions which are interlaced by g+1g+1 oscillatory regions, where g+1g+1 is the number of spectral gaps. In the soliton regions the solution is asymptotically given by a number of solitons travelling on top of finite-gap solutions which are in the same isospectral class as the background solution. In the oscillatory region the solution can be described by a modulated finite-gap solution plus a decaying dispersive tail. The modulation is given by phase transition on the isospectral torus and is, together with the dispersive tail, explicitly characterized in terms of Abelian integrals on the underlying hyperelliptic curve.Comment: 45 pages. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:0705.034

    Peculiarities of Adverse Events Manifested by Injury of Skin and Skin Derivatives and Associated with Beta-blockers Use

    More than 50 years after Propranolol was introduced to the pharmaceutical market as a drug that can lower the heart rate, beta-blockers (BAB) are still widely used in the pharmacotherapy of cardiovascular diseases. However, the use of BAB has a number of limitations, first of all, due to adverse drug events (AE) that develop during their use. The purpose of our review was to study the features of the BAB AE manifested by injuries of the skin and its appendages. The clinical manifestations of them are the development or exacerbation of psoriasis, lichen planus, contact dermatitis, acrocyanosis, Raynaud's disease, alopecia, hyperhidrosis, vitiligo, anaphylaxis, and allergic skin reactions. True medicinal psoriasis occurs in patients taking BAB with no family or previous history and most often mimics erythrodermic psoriasis and palmar-plantar pustular psoriasis. Systemic use of BAB can also be accompanied by exacerbation of vitiligo. In patients with segmental vitiligo, the results of Doppler flowmetry and iontophoresis showed increased blood flow in vitiligo foci compared with normal skin. The development of anaphylactic reactions against the background of BAB therapy may be due to the modulation of adenylate cyclase, which can affect the release of anaphylactogenic mediators, as well as a decrease in the severity of cardiovascular compensatory changes. The peculiarities of the development of such reactions may be the resistance of patients to traditional treatment, which is due to the development of paradoxical reflex vagotonic effects when using adrenaline. Some of the mentioned AE may pose a potential threat to the life and health of the patient and therefore require additional discussion

    10He low-lying states structure uncovered by correlations

    The 0+ ground state of the 10He nucleus produced in the 3H(8He,p)10He reaction was found at about 2.1±0.22.1\pm0.2 MeV (\Gamma ~ 2 MeV) above the three-body 8He+n+n breakup threshold. Angular correlations observed for 10He decay products show prominent interference patterns allowing to draw conclusions about the structure of low-energy excited states. We interpret the observed correlations as a coherent superposition of the broad 1- state having a maximum at energy 4-6 MeV and the 2+ state above 6 MeV, setting both on top of the 0+ state "tail". This anomalous level ordering indicates that the breakdown of the N=8 shell known in 12Be thus extends also to the 10He system.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure

    Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of 6^{6}Be populated in (p,n)(p,n) reaction

    The 6^{6}Be continuum states were populated in the charge-exchange reaction 1^1H(6^{6}Li,6^{6}Be)nn collecting very high statistics data (5×106\sim 5 \times 10^6 events) on the three-body α\alpha+pp+pp correlations. The 6^{6}Be excitation energy region below 3\sim 3 MeV is considered, where the data are dominated by contributions from the 0+0^+ and 2+2^+ states. It is demonstrated how the high-statistics few-body correlation data can be used to extract detailed information on the reaction mechanism. Such a derivation is based on the fact that highly spin-aligned states are typically populated in the direct reactions.Comment: submitted to Physical Review
