Tunable nonlinear graphene metasurfaces
We introduce the concept of nonlinear graphene metasurfaces employing the
controllable interaction between a graphene layer and a planar metamaterial.
Such hybrid metasurfaces support two types of subradiant resonant modes,
asymmetric modes of structured metamaterial elements ("metamolecules") and
graphene plasmons exhibiting strong mutual coupling and avoided dispersion
crossing. High tunability of graphene plasmons facilitates strong interaction
between the subradiant modes, modifying the spectral position and lifetime of
the associated Fano resonances. We demonstrate that strong resonant
interaction, combined with the subwavelength localization of plasmons, leads to
the enhanced nonlinear response and high efficiency of the second-harmonic

Lamellar structure and nanomechanical properties of quasicrystalline Al-Cu-Fe alloys
The kinetics of structural phase transformations in quasicrystal-forming Al-Cu-Fe alloys with compositions in the region of stability of the icosahedral (i) phase has been investigated. It has been shown that, depending on the development of metastable transformations i β pentagonal phases P1 and P2, a homogeneous lamellar structure (i + P1 + P2) or a polygrain i-phase is formed in the alloys. The P-h diagrams obtained upon nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy of indentations have demonstrated signs of elasto-plastic deformation of the alloys with lamellar and polygrain icosahedral structures. It has been found that, in contrast to the polygrain icosahedral alloys with a normal size effect of nanoindentation, the alloys with a lamellar structure are characterized by a nonmonotonic dependence of the hardness (H) on the maximum load (P max) and exhibit the effect of strain hardening in the range of loads 50 mN β€ P max < 500 mN. The strain hardening is considered as the result of resistance exerted by boundaries of the lamellar structure to the development of plastic deformation. Β© 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
Penentuan Status Hara Nitrogen pada Bibit Duku
Nitrogen merupakan unsur yang sangat memengaruhi pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan produksi tanaman. Hara ini merupakan komponen esensial klorofil, protein, hormon, dan enzim. Gejala kekurangan atau kelebihan hara tersebut dapat terdeteksi secara visual pada penampilan daun, sehingga sangat penting untuk mencegah terjadinya kedua kondisi tersebut pada pertumbuhan bibit duku (Lansium domesticum Corr). Penelitian status hara nitrogen dilakukan pada bibit duku umur 2 tahun yang ditanam pada media pasir di Provinsi Jambi dari bulan Maret 2010 sampai dengan Maret 2011. Percobaan disusun menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok, dengan lima perlakuan dosis nitrogen: 0, 100, 200, 400, dan 800 ppm/tanaman, diaplikasikan dalam bentuk air irigasi setiap 2 hari sekali dan masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari tiga tanaman dan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gejala kekurangan nitrogen pertama terlihat pada daun tua yang ditandai dengan Perubahan warna daun menjadi hijau kekuningan (klorosis), tangkai daun lemah dan berwarna kuning, jumlah daun kurang atau sama dengan 4,2 helai, pertumbuhan terhambat, dan konsentrasi nitrogen daun kurang dari 1,13%. Kecukupan nitrogen ditandai dengan pertumbuhan yang normal, daun berwarna hijau tua, jumlah daun berkisar antara 5 sampai 5,5 helai dan konsentrasi nitrogen daun antara 1,13 sampai 1,44%. Kelebihan nitrogen terlihat pada daun yang berwarna coklat dan mengalami nekrosis, jumlah daun kurang dari 3,78 helai, pertumbuhan bibit terhambat, konsentrasi nitrogen daun lebih dari 1,44%. Pertumbuhan maksimum membutuhkan 381 ppm pupuk nitrogen/tanaman, yang setara dengan 8 g urea/l air atau 77 g Urea/tahun. Rekomendasi pemupukan N ini merupakan salah satu teknologi yang dapat meningkatkan ketersediaan bibit duku bermutu

Quantum corrections for pion correlations involving resonance decays
A method is presented to include quantum corrections into the calculation of
two-pion correlations for the case where particles originate from resonance
decays. The technique uses classical information regarding the space-time
points at which resonances are created. By evaluating a simple thermal model,
the method is compared to semiclassical techniques that assume exponential
decaying resonances moving along classical trajectories. Significant
improvements are noted when the resonance widths are broad as compared to the

Pneumonia is one of the most common infections with high mortality rates. The gene polymorphism of Toll-like receptors that belong to the first line of defense of the immune system can make a considerable contribution to individual variability due to the risk of pneumonia. Today this issue has not been adequately explored and the data available in the literature are conflicting.Objective: to carry out a meta-analysis of the association between Toll-like receptor gene polymorphic variants and the risk of pneumonias and its coinfections.Methods. A meta-analysis was carried out to detect a possible association of the risk of pneumonia and coinfections with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in the TLR2 (rs5743708 (2258 G>A; Arg753Gln) and TLR4 (rs4986790 (896A>G; Asp299Gly) genes. The investigation enrolled 2312 (682 patients/1630 control individuals) and 3075 (910/2165) Caucasians for each SNP, respectively. As the rate of minor alleles of both polymorphic variants was less than 5%; the analysis was made only for a dominant genetic model.Results. Analysis of the study group showed that the A allele of TLR2 rs5743708 was associated with the risk of pneumonia (OR = 1.90; 95% CI: 1.02β3.54; P=0.042) while TLR4 rs4986790 was not associated with pneumonia. Analysis of subgroups (children/adults and community-acquired/nosocomial pneumonia) revealed no significant effects.Conclusion. The A allele of TLR2 rs5743708 may be a risk factor for susceptibility to pneumonia. Supply Chain Management Application in Functional Food Industry
Abstractβ As follows from the analysis, the producers of functional food production do not increase their production and its supply in the domestic market intensively enough and have a quite low export capacity. During production of functional foods, producers do not pay sufficient attention to patenting of the developed intellectual property objects. It was revealed that Russia, that shows a considerable potential of agricultural land and positive experience of agricultural sector development, needs to ensure the development of domestic supply chain management in businesses and industries to provide promising new-generation functional foods competitive in the internal and external markets. Competitiveness of such products can be improved by development of supply chain management β specialized functional foods. This paper explores ways of improving supply chain management within the food processing industry looking into characteristics on justification and development of advanced functional food, its formulations and production technologies. This work presents a supply chai nstrategy in terms of food industry subsectors and producers, food effects obtained from functional foods, and in terms of consumers of functional food products depending on product purpose
