Electrochemical Activity of Glutathione at a Graphite Electrode Modified with Gold Nanoparticles
The electrochemical activity of the glutathione (GSH) at the graphite electrodes modified with gold nanoparticles (AuNP-GCE) is formed under the ratio of reactants and in solutions of supporting electrolytes of 0, 1 M NaOH, 0,1 β phosphate buffer (pH 6.86), 0,1 M HCl, 0,1 M NaClO4 is studied by the method of cyclic voltammetry. The dependence of the electrochemical activity of GSH on ratio of reagents HAuCl4 :Na3 C6 H5 O7 :NaBH4 , used to the preparation of sols, and the modification time of the GE surface with gold nanoparticles have been studied. The βinverseβ cathodic peak of GSH at AuNPGCE formed in the reaction mixture HAuCl4 :Na3 C6 H5 O7 :NaBH4 = 1:1:4 is observed on the cathodic branch of cyclic voltammogram at Ec = 0.05 V in 0.1 M NaOH. Blood parameters in dermatitis of various etiologies in cattle
The purpose of the research is to identify a general pattern in the change in hematological and biochemical parameters in any lesions of cattle skin.Materials and methods. The work was carried out in October-November 2021 in the conditions of farms in the Ipatovsky district of the Stavropol Territory on cattle aged 9β12 months and 90β120 kg of body weight. During the veterinary clinical examination, four groups of fve heads each were formed, one of the groups was a control. Animals of the control group had no clinical signs of dermatitis. The experimental groups of animals were divided depending on the degree of intensity of skin lesions into mild, moderate and generalized forms of manifestation of dermatitis. The results obtained were processed statistically.Results and discussion. A veterinary clinical examination of this livestock made it possible to establish the dependence in case of damage to the skin not only in changes in temperature, respiratory rate and pulse, but also in blood parameters. The body temperature of calves with a generalized form of dermatitis increased by an average of 0.5 degrees, breathing increased by six units per minute, the pulse rate increased by 15β18 beats per minute. In calves with mild and moderate manifestation of dermatitis, these parameters did not have signifcant changes and were within the normal range. From hematological indicators, hemoglobin had a general tendency to decrease with increasing intensity of the lesion or aggravation of the pathological process. Such indicators as ESR, leukocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils, on the contrary, tended to increase, especially in the generalized form. The slowdown of erythropoiesis and thrombocytopenia in the generalized form of dermatitis is presumably associated with intoxication of the body of calves. An increase in ESR, the number of eosinophils indicates an inο¬ammatory process occurring in the animal's body. From biochemical indicators, an increase in the level of bilirubin, AST and ALT, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase indicates toxic liver damage due to intoxication of the body of calves due to inο¬ammatory factors and decay products of aο¬ected skin cells

Comparative analysis ofΒ lactaptin activity whenΒ produced in bacterial orΒ eukaryotic expression systems
Despite the multitude of anticancer cytostatic drugs available to oncologists today, most of such drugs have serious side effects that may preclude their use in some groups of patients. Hence, selective induction of apoptosis in cancer but not normal cells remains an attractive goal of molecular medicine. Lactaptin, a proteolytic fragment of the human milk kappa-casein, has been previously identified as a protein displaying potent killing of cancer cells in vitro. Its recombinant analog (RL2) produced in E. coli has been shown to delay solid tumor growth in vivo. Given that lactaptin is of human origin and is not immunogenic, it can be administered to patients multiple times without running the risk of immune response that could dampen the therapy efficacy. In the present study, we demonstrate that the combination of RL2 and cyclophosphamide treatments has an additive therapeutic effect against hepatoma tumor in immunocompetent mice. We asked whether production of lactaptin in human rather than bacterial cells would result in a protein with increased cytotoxic activity. Using lentiviral vector pCDH as a backbone, two constructs, pEL1 and pEL2, encoding secreted forms of lactaptin that differ in their signal sequences were created. Lactaptin expression in human cell lines was confirmed using Western-blot analysis, whereas ELISA was used for quantification of secreted lactaptin. Next, we measured the cytotoxic effects of the media conditioned by pEL1-transfected HEK293T cells, as assayed against the panel of three human cancer cell lines: MDA-MB-231 (adenocarcinoma), PC3 (prostate cancer), and T98G (glioblastoma). We show that EL1-derived lactaptin is at least 100-fold more cytotoxic than RL2. Taken together, our results provide an opportunity for developing armored immune cells as an βoff-the-shelfβ platform for targeted delivery of lactaptin to cancer cells

First atom lifetime and scattering length measurements
The results of a search for hydrogen-like atoms consisting of
mesons are presented. Evidence for atom production
by 24 GeV/c protons from CERN PS interacting with a nickel target has been seen
in terms of characteristic pairs from their breakup in the same target
() and from Coulomb final state interaction (). Using
these results the analysis yields a first value for the atom lifetime
of fs and a first model-independent measurement of
the S-wave isospin-odd scattering length

Comprehensive analysis of the chromatin landscape in Drosophila melanogaster.
Chromatin is composed of DNA and a variety of modified histones and non-histone proteins, which have an impact on cell differentiation, gene regulation and other key cellular processes. Here we present a genome-wide chromatin landscape for Drosophila melanogaster based on eighteen histone modifications, summarized by nine prevalent combinatorial patterns. Integrative analysis with other data (non-histone chromatin proteins, DNase I hypersensitivity, GRO-Seq reads produced by engaged polymerase, short/long RNA products) reveals discrete characteristics of chromosomes, genes, regulatory elements and other functional domains. We find that active genes display distinct chromatin signatures that are correlated with disparate gene lengths, exon patterns, regulatory functions and genomic contexts. We also demonstrate a diversity of signatures among Polycomb targets that include a subset with paused polymerase. This systematic profiling and integrative analysis of chromatin signatures provides insights into how genomic elements are regulated, and will serve as a resource for future experimental investigations of genome structure and function

The purpose of the research is study of the animal's body clinical status and changes in hematological parameters beforeΒ and after treatment against sarcoptoidosis of cattle.Β Materials and methods. The experiment was performed on bull calves and heifers aged 6β10 months, medium finish, ofΒ 100β120 kg of body weight. The test animals were divided into three groups: two test groups and one control group of 15Β animals each. Before the experiment and at 7, 14 and 21 days after treatment with acaricides, scrapings from the affectedΒ skin and blood were taken from animals of all groups for research. The first test group animals were treated with ivermectinΒ subcutaneously at a dose of 5 ml per animal, and the second test group was treated with cydectin subcutaneously at a doseΒ of 5 ml per animal. The control animals were not treated.Β Results and discussion. The conducted hematological studies found a decrease in erythrocytes and hemoglobin inΒ sarcoptoidosis, which indicated a decrease in oxygen supply to the body, and, consequently, organs and tissues. New data on OZI rule violation in bar{p}p annihilation at rest
The results of a measurement of the ratio R = Y(phi pi+ pi-) / Y(omega pi+
pi-) for antiproton annihilation at rest in a gaseous and in a liquid hydrogen
target are presented. It was found that the value of this ratio increases with
the decreasing of the dipion mass, which demonstrates the difference in the phi
and omega production mechanisms. An indication on the momentum transfer
dependence of the apparent OZI rule violation for phi production from the 3S1
