\ua9 2023 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).This report provides a snapshot of emerging photovoltaic (PV) technologies. It consists of concise contributions from experts in a wide range of fields including silicon, thin film, III-V, perovskite, organic, and dye-sensitized PVs. Strategies for exceeding the detailed balance limit and for light managing are presented, followed by a section detailing key applications and commercialization pathways. A section on sustainability then discusses the need for minimization of the environmental footprint in PV manufacturing and recycling. The report concludes with a perspective based on broad survey questions presented to the contributing authors regarding the needs and future evolution of PV

    Roadmap on holography

From its inception holography has proven an extremely productive and attractive area of research. While specific technical applications give rise to 'hot topics', and three-dimensional (3D) visualisation comes in and out of fashion, the core principals involved continue to lead to exciting innovations in a wide range of areas. We humbly submit that it is impossible, in any journal document of this type, to fully reflect current and potential activity; however, our valiant contributors have produced a series of documents that go no small way to neatly capture progress across a wide range of core activities. As editors we have attempted to spread our net wide in order to illustrate the breadth of international activity. In relation to this we believe we have been at least partially successful

The Article is devoted to assessing the impact of operational factors and design parameters of the trailer heavy-duty tandem axles to such performance indicators as: the standard deviation of the vertical linear and linear-angular accelerations of the sprung parts. In the article on the impact of ranked operational factors and design parameters that influence the performance indicators. The detailed analysis of the impact of each performance factor and design parameter on the vertical linear and linear-angular acceleration of the sprung parts

Effects of absorption and inhibition during grating formation in photopolymer materials

Photopolymer materials are practical materials for use as holographic recording media, as they are inexpensive and self-processing (dry processed). Understanding the photochemical mechanisms present during recording in these materials is crucial to enable further development. One such mechanism is the existence of an inhibition period at the start of grating growth during which the formation of polymer chains is suppressed. Some previous studies have indicated possible explanations for this effect and approximate models have been proposed to explain the observed behavior. We examine in detail the kinetic behavior involved within the photopolymer material during recording to obtain a clearer picture of the photochemical processes present. Experiments are reported and carried out with the specific aim of understanding these processes. The results support our description of the inhibition process in an acrylamide-based photopolymer and can be used to predict behavior under certain conditions.Science Foundation IrelandIrish Research Council for Science, Engineering and TechnologyEnterprise Irelandda, pe, la, sp, ke, ab, is en - kpw24/11/1
