    Fluctuating Asymmetry of Measurable Parameters in Rana arvalis : Methodology

    72 Fluctuating asymmetry (FA), i.e., undirected deviations from bilateral symmetry, of both measurable and nonmeasurable characteristics reflects ontogenetic instability, which some authors believe increases in response to genomic or environmental stress. This allows FA to be used for estimating the state of anthropogenically affected natural populations (e.g., Rana arvalis young of the year were captured on August 4 and 5, 2003, in the Kalinovskie Razrezy Park Forest in northern Yekaterinburg ( n = 26) and near the Yuzhnaya Bus Terminal ( n = 15), respectively. Ponds existing in the park forest had resulted from flooding desolate quarries. The vegetation was a herb-grass pine forest containing small shrubs. The results of our hydrochemical analyses performed in 2003 indicate that, according to the ecological sanitary classification of the quality of surface waters suggested by We measured the size parameters of the body that are standard for amphibians The results of the measurements shown in the table indicate that storage in the fixative led to a slight decrease in the mean values of most parameters measured in frogs from both populations.     Aromatic polymers obtained by precipitation polycondensation: 4*. Synthesis of poly(ether ketone ketone)s

    High molecular weight aromatic poly(ether ketone ketone)s were synthesized by the Friedel-Crafts polyacylation condensation of iso- and terephthaloyl chlorides with diphenyl ether, 1,4- and 1,3-bis(4- phenoxybenzoyl)benzenes. Depending on the monomers used for polycondensation, polyketones of regular structure with different iso-/tereisomer repeating unit ratio (100/0, 50/50, 0/100) in the main chain were obtained. Polymers of each repeating isomer unit were prepared in two different ways. All the polymer syntheses were performed as precipitation polycondensations and the resulting polymers were obtained in particle form. The influence of reaction conditions and preparation route on the polymer properties were examined. The monomer concentration and monomer stoichiometric ratio were found to affect the polymer viscosity. The size and shape of the polyketone particles obtained were also found to be governed by reaction conditions and preparation route.Peer reviewe

    New approaches to the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases

    The results of clinical and microbiological investigation testify the efficacy of using combined medication of bacteriophages - “Sextafag” (pyobacteriophage polyvalent liquid, FGUP “NPO Microgen’' MZ RF “Biomed”) in the complex treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases. Some original methods of bacteriophage topical preparation appliance well adapted to specific clinical situation are describe. The addition of pyobacteriophage preparation to complex periodontal treatment provides the reliable reduction of the quantity of pathogenic microorganism in periodontal tissues in short terms, significantly improves the main oral hygienic and periodontal indexes. The most pronounced curative effect of phagetherapy was registered in patients with catarrhal and ulcerative gingivitis. No side effects or complications of phagetherapy were in the study.На основании клинических и микробиологических исследований продемонстрирована эффективность применения комбинированного препарата бактериофагов «Секстафаг» (пиобактериофаг поливалентный жидкий производства ФГУП «НПО «Микроген» М3 РФ «Пермское НПО Биомед») в комплексном лечении воспалительных заболеваний пародонта. Фаготерапия проведена по оригинальным авторским методикам, адаптированным к конкретным клиническим ситуациям. Включение фаговых препаратов в комплекс пародонтологического лечения обеспечивает достоверное и быстрое снижение обсемененности пародонтальных тканей патогенной микрофлорой, сопровождается улучшением показателей гигиенического и пародонтологического статуса. Наиболее выраженный лечебный эффект отмечен у больных с катаральным и язвенным гингивитом. Осложнений и побочных эффектов при применении фаговых препаратов не выявлено

    Методика оценки разрывов цифровой зрелости промышленных предприятий

    Purpose: the main purpose of this article is to develop a methodology for assessing the digital maturity gaps of industrial enterprises in order to adapt to the digital environment, to take advantage of digital technologies to improve operations and increase competitiveness.Methods: the authors applied general scientific methods (method of synthesis, generalization, content analysis, graphical interpretation of data). In assessing the levels of digital maturity gaps, correlated with the levels of digital maturity, the scaling method was used.Results: the global metamorphoses actualizing the problem of achieving digital maturity by industrial enterprises are described. The concepts of maturity, digital maturity, and digital maturity gaps of industrial enterprises in different sources are investigated. Digital maturity gaps are shown from two perspectives: as the difference between the current and target maturity levels of industrial enterprises; as the gap between awareness and implementation of Industry X.0 solutions in industrial enterprises. The landscape of digital maturity assessment methodologies at different levels is systematized: federal, regional and grassroots level of the economy. The problem and research gap of digital maturity assessment is identified, which is the lack of methodologies for assessing digital gaps. The author proposed a methodology for assessing the digital maturity gaps of industrial enterprises, which includes fourteen stages. The methodology was tested using data from twenty industrial enterprises that are leaders in digitalization in 2021. Visualization of digital maturity indicators and digital maturity gaps was carried out.Сonclusions and Relevance: as a result of testing the methodology for assessing the digital maturity gaps of industrial enterprises, it is concluded that the current state of development of the national industrial ecosystem is characterized by significant heterogeneity in the development of individual industries, unequal development of markets and enterprises. In order to successfully complete the digital transformation and increase the level of digital maturity to the maximum, it is recommended that industrial enterprises integrate digital platform solutions and digital behaviors based on the concept of digital strategizing into their operating model.Цель данной статьи состоит в представлении методики оценки разрывов цифровой зрелости промышленных предприятий, разработанной в целях адаптации к цифровой среде и использования преимуществ цифровых технологий для улучшения деятельности и повышения конкурентоспособности.Метод или методология проведения работы. Авторами применены общенаучные методы – метод синтеза, обобщения, контентанализа, графической интерпретации данных. При оценке уровней разрывов цифровой зрелости, соотнесенных с уровнями цифровой зрелости, применялся метод шкалирования.Результаты работы. Описаны глобальные метаморфозы, актуализирующие проблему достижения цифровой зрелости промышленными предприятиями. Исследованы понятия зрелости, цифровой зрелости и разрывов цифровой зрелости промышленных предприятий из разных источников. Разрывы цифровой зрелости показаны с двух позиций: как разница между текущим и целевым уровнями зрелости промышленных предприятий и как разрыв между осведомленностью и внедрением решений Индустрии Х.0 на промышленных предприятиях. Систематизирован ландшафт методик оценки цифровой зрелости на разных уровнях: федеральном, региональном, а также на уровне низового звена экономики. Выявлена проблема и исследовательский пробел оценки цифровой зрелости, заключающийся в отсутствии методик оценки цифровых разрывов. Предложена авторская методика оценки разрывов цифровой зрелости промышленных предприятий, включающая 14 этапов. Методика апробирована по данным 20-ти промышленных предприятий, являвшихся лидерами цифровизации в 2021 году. Осуществлена визуализация показателей цифровой зрелости и разрывов цифровой зрелости.Выводы. В результате апробации методики оценки разрывов цифровой зрелости промышленных предприятий сделан вывод, что текущее состояние развития национальной промышленной экосистемы характеризуется значительной неоднородностью в развитии отдельных отраслей, неравномерным развитием рынков и предприятий. В целях успешного завершения цифровой трансформации и повышения уровня цифровой зрелости до максимального промышленным предприятиям рекомендовано в операционную модель интегрировать цифровые платформенные решения и цифровые модели поведения на основе концепции цифрового стратегирования

    The Adaptive Marine Policy (AMP) toolbox: Supporting policy-makers developing adaptive policies in the Mediterranean and Black Sea

    Adaptive management is essential to the practical application of the Ecosystem-Based Approach (EBA). Despite there are frequent assertions that adaptive management is being used, evidence on its success is still limited. Indeed, it is difficult to bring the different elements of adaptive management together in a robust way and to choose the appropriate tools to do it. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a practical framework for adaptive policy action, consistent with the EBA. Accordingly, to operationalize the design and implementation of adaptive policies on the basis of the EBA, the Adaptive Marine Policy toolbox has been developed. The objective of the toolbox is to provide policy-makers a practical framework to design and implement adaptive policies. To show the functionality of the toolbox, the guidelines and resources provided within the toolbox have been applied to the marine litter issue in the Mediterranean and Black Sea as an example. The example application has shown that the toolbox is a useful and operational framework to build a science-policy interface according to the EBA. Despite some resources could be missing from the toolbox, they provide a practical and useful starting point to support the application of the different steps and key activities

    Chemokines cooperate with TNF to provide protective anti-viral immunity and to enhance inflammation

    The role of cytokines and chemokines in anti-viral defense has been demonstrated, but their relative contribution to protective anti-viral responses in vivo is not fully understood. Cytokine response modifier D (CrmD) is a secreted receptor for TNF and lymphotoxin containing the smallpox virus-encoded chemokine receptor (SECRET) domain and is expressed by ectromelia virus, the causative agent of the smallpox-like disease mousepox. Here we show that CrmD is an essential virulence factor that controls natural killer cell activation and allows progression of fatal mousepox, and demonstrate that both SECRET and TNF binding domains are required for full CrmD activity. Vaccination with recombinant CrmD protects animals from lethal mousepox. These results indicate that a specific set of chemokines enhance the inflammatory and protective anti-viral responses mediated by TNF and lymphotoxin, and illustrate how viruses optimize anti-TNF strategies with the addition of a chemokine binding domain as soluble decoy receptors.We thank Javier Salguero for help with animal experimentation and immunohistochemistry, Rocío Martín and Carolina Sánchez for technical assistance and Daniel Rubio for discussions on the project.
