Control of near-infrared supercontinuum bandwidth by adjusting pump pulse duration
We experimentally and numerically investigated the impact of input pump pulse duration on the near-infrared bandwidth of supercontinuum generation in a photonic crystal fiber. We continuously stretched the temporal duration of the input pump laser (centered at 1030 nm) pulses from 500 fs up to 10 ps, while keeping fixed the pump peak power. We observed that the long-wavelength edge of the supercontinuum spectrum is increased by 200 nm as the pump pulse duration grows from 500 fs to 10 ps. We provide a quantitative fit of the experimental results by means of numerical simulations. Moreover, we have explained the observed spectral broadening enhancement induced by pump pulse energy by developing an approximate yet fully analytical model for soliton energy exchange through a series of collisions in the presence of stimulated Raman scattering

Nucleon electromagnetic form factors and polarization observables in space-like and time-like regions
We perform a global analysis of the experimental data of the electromagnetic
nucleon form factors, in space-like and time-like regions. We give the
expressions of the observables in annihilation processes, such as , or , in terms of form factors. We discuss some
of the phenomenological models proposed in the literature for the space-like
region, and consider their analytical continuation to the time-like region.
After determining the parameters through a fit on the available data, we give
predictions for the observables which will be experimentally accessible with
large statistics, polarized annihilation reactions.Comment: 25 pages, 5 figures 7 table
Patterns and Predictors of Service Use Among Women Who Have Separated from an Abusive Partner
# The Author(s) 2015. This article is published with open access at Springerlink.com Abstract Using baseline data from a survey of 309 Canadian women recently separated from an abusive partner, we inves-tigated patterns of access to health, social, legal, and violence-specific services and whether abuse history and social and health variables predict service use. We compared rates of service use to population rates, and used logistic regression to identify determinants of use. Service use rates were sub-stantially higher than population estimates in every category, particularly in general and mental health sectors. Although women were confident in their ability to access services, they reported substantial unmet need, difficulty accessing services, and multiple barriers. The strongest unique predictors of use varied across service type. Health variables (high disability chronic pain, symptoms of depression and PTSD), low in

Fabrication of Millimeter Wave Components Via Ceramic Stereo- and Microstereolithography Processes
International audienceComplex ceramic parts, designed by 3D electromagnetic simulations for microwave devices of high performances, are difficult, even impossible, to elaborate by classical ceramic processing routes. This paper demonstrates the direct fabrication of useful complex microwave devices in millimeter and submillimeter wavelength domains, with a high dimensional resolution, by the numerical techniques of stereolithography and microstereolithography. Alumina and zirconia formulations have been developed with a powder loading 450 vol%, a suitable rheology to spread thin (25-50 lm) and homogeneous layers, and with a sufficient reactivity to UV for polymerization. Devices built with a satisfying manufacturing accuracy have presented excellent experimental electrical behaviors in good agreement with the theoretical ones
