    INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT FERTILIZERS ON NPK CONTENT IN SOIL, IN CONSERVATION AGRICULTURE SYSTEM

    This paper presents the results obtained from an experiment carried out in conservation agriculture system. Six types of fertilizers, i.e. N, NP, NPK and potassium humate NPK that contain various forms of nitrogen were tested. The experiments placed on cambic phaeozem at SCDA Teleorman were conducted using soybeans as crops, and fertilizers dosages of 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg N/ha. The influence of fertilizers on the nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, content in the soil after the harvest was investigated. Soil samples were collected at a depth of 0-20 cm. The laboratory tests were performed on conditioned soil samples. The experimental data was statistically processed using analysis of variance.It was observed that the use of fertilizers increased of the nitrogen content from the soil from 0.157% for the unfertilized sample to 0.189% for the sample fertilized with NPK 15:15:15 at the application dosage of 100 kg N / ha (21.8%). The phosphorus content increased from 72 ppm P2O5 in the case of the unfertilized sample to 98 ppm P2O5 for the sample fertilized with NP 20: 20: 0 (200 kg / ha dosage)

    IS IT ONLY OSTEOPOROSIS? AN ENDOCRINE PERSPECTIVE ON A CASE OF MULTIPLE MYELOMA

    Introduction. Multiple myeloma represents a malignant skeleton condition, been considered the most frequent bone malignancy of primary type in people older than 70 years. Myeloma causes a particular deterioration of bone via bone loss which can be localized or diffuse. The skeletal anomalies may include osteoporosis and vertebral fractures as first sign of the condition which need to be differentiated from others types of osteoporosis. This is a case presentation. This is a 56-year old female who was diagnosed with a lumbar fracture 5 months ago and considered osteoporosis treated with alendronate. Bone pain continued in addition to hypoanabolic syndrome. Second opinion showed hypercalcemia with suppressed parathomone and high bone resorption marker CrossLaps in association with mild anaemia, highly increased ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), and newly discovered renal failure, and large ostolytic lesions at computed tomography. A bone biopsy was necessary and confirmed multiple myeloma. Conclusion. Severe diagnosis like malignant bone conditions may be first diagnosed as osteoporosis

    The research aims towards a novel methodology of ZnO impregnation onto polyamide supports, in order to attain a special inorganic-organic hybrid polymer material, with increased UV-barrier attributes and high hydrophobicity. The experimental approach employed ZnO micro particles powder. Solutions with different concentrations of ZnO powder dispersed in methanol are prepared as anti-UV finishing agent and applied onto polyamide fabric. The responsive behaviour of this complex polymer network to UV irradiation, the photo protective performance and its time stability, also the hydrophobic character are assessed by different characterization techniques. The proposed method has advantages, like: easy standardization, at lower production cost, resulting a high homogeneity and dispersion of ZnO micro particles into the textile polymeric network. The covered polymeric supports show better photo protective response, higher hydrophobicity and control on the surface charge induced by irradiation. This method granted enhanced quality, comfort and long term stability of the intelligent/smart garments

    The COVID-19 pandemic was and continues to be a major challenge for tourist activities worldwide. Cultural tourism was mostly hit because of the social distancing measures, travel restrictions and ban on people gatherings for cultural events. The current study is trying to provide an overall image of the challenges local cultural tourism has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic in a predominantly rural area of Romania—the Buzau Carpathians and Subcarpathians. The area has a high tourist potential stemming from the complexity and diversity of the natural landscapes and the local historical setting. The survey relies on two field campaigns carried out in 2020 when 161 questionnaires were applied to tourists, businesses and residents. The results highlight the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses during and after the travel restrictions (e.g., revenue losses, temporary business shut-downs and layoffs/technical unemployment), but also on tourists’ travelling preferences and sentiment and on residents’ attitudes and behaviour
