Revisiting Mental Health Issues in Young Immigrants: A Lesson Learned from the Virginia Tech Massacre

    No full text
The article focuses on the mental health issues involving young immigrants. It recounts the Virginia Polytechnic Institute massacre where a young Korean American Seung-Hui Cho was involved. It provides a personal background including the personal experiences of the said young Korean American that might have urged him to commit the crime. With this incident, the authors suggest that mental health care workers who encounter young Korean or other minority group immigrants should be aware of some personal conditions that may help them identify a subgroup of children who are more likely to have difficulty in the process and are more vulnerable to mental health problems
