Constraints on the charged Higgs boson of the two Higgs doublet model type III
The D0 experiment has reported a direct search for a charged Higgs boson
produced by annihilation and decaying to final state, in
the GeV mass range. The analysis has lead to upper
limits on the production cross section in the framework of the two Higgs
doublet model types I, II and III. We compare the predictions of two different
scenarios in the framework of the two Higgs doublet type III to the cross
section limits reported by D0 collaboration, and we obtain constraints on the
charged Higgs mass, for the case when the charged Higgs mass is bigger than the
top quark mass. Also, searches for the charged Higgs boson with a mass smaller
than top quark mass are considered, we discuss the possible limits on the
charged Higgs boson mass obtained from measurements of the ratio
within the
two Higgs doublet model type III.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, version to be publishe
in the complex two Higgs doublet model
The latest LHC data confirmed the existence of a Higgs-like particle and made
interesting measurements on its decays into , , , , and . It is expected that a decay into might be measured at the next LHC round, for which there already exists
an upper bound. The Higgs-like particle could be a mixture of scalar with a
relatively large component of pseudoscalar. We compute the decay of such a
mixed state into , and we study its properties in the context of the
complex two Higgs doublet model, analysing the effect of the current
measurements on the four versions of this model. We show that a measurement of
the rate at a level consistent with the SM can be used
to place interesting constraints on the pseudoscalar component. We also comment
on the issue of a wrong sign Yukawa coupling for the bottom in Type II models.Comment: 31 pages, 15 figure
Factors affecting rind pitting in the mandarin hybrids "fortune" and "nova". The influence of exogenous growth regulators
The commercialization of the mandarin hybrids "Fortune" and "Nova" is hindered by the development of cold-induced pitting in the fruit rind which may develop either in the orchard or during storage and transport.
In the late cropping cultivar "Fortune", the pitting develops on tree during the winter months and affects mainly the exposed fruit from the north-west quadrant of the tree. The induction of symptoms under uniform conditions in the cold-room reveals differences in the susceptibility to chilling injury among the fruits and the fruit sides. The green fruit is not susceptible. Susceptibility develops as pigmentation progresses, and it is higher for the exposed than for the non-exposed (covered by the foliage) fruits. The application of GA3 at colour-break delays pigmentation and retards the development of susceptibility. The waxing of the fruit offers some protection to cold in the cold-room. However, the incidence of pitting is not related to the wax content of the fruit rind and the application of a wax coverage on tree had only a marginal protective effect.
No pitting is usually found on tree in the fruit of the early ripening "Nova" cultivar, which is usually harvested before the winter chilling. The pitting develops during cold storage (8-10 C), and is reduced by GA3 application at colour break, an effect related to the delay in rind pigmentation.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Learning roadmaps for Higher Education
An integrated platform for the support of teaching activities as been developed and deployed at the Aveiro Norte Polytechnic School of the University of Aveiro. In this paper we present an approach to Learning Roadmaps for Higher Education based on this platform. The aprend.e platform – Electronic Integrated System for Learning and Training - has at its core a Learning Management System with a number of plugins. It represents a new challenge for the University of Aveiro for higher education and is already being at its core is the concept of learning roadmaps that act upon two fundamental axes: education and learning. For the teachers, it aims at becoming a self-supporting tool that stimulates the organization and management of the course materials (lectures, presentations, multimedia content, and evaluation materials, amongst others). For the students, the learning roadmap aims at promoting self-study and supervised study, endowing the pupil with the capabilities to find the relevant information and to capture the concepts in the study materials. The outcome will be a stimulating learning process together with an organized management of those materials
Gluon and Ghost Dynamics from Lattice QCD
The two point gluon and ghost correlation functions and the three gluon
vertex are investigated, in the Landau gauge, using lattice simulations. For
the two point functions, we discuss the approach to the continuum limit looking
at the dependence on the lattice spacing and volume. The analytical structure
of the propagators is also investigated by computing the corresponding spectral
functions using an implementation of the Tikhonov regularisation to solve the
integral equation. For the three point function we report results when the
momentum of one of the gluon lines is set to zero and discuss its implications.Comment: Proceedings of Light Cone 2016, held in Lisbon, September 2016. Minor
