A Função inalienável das Artes Visuais: Reflexão a duas vozes

Este texto constitui um debate sobre a função da arte, entre dois professores com diferente formação de base (Maria Constança Vasconcelos com formação específica em Artes Visuais e José B. Duarte em Ciências da Educação). Ambos evocam o apoio que diversas obras de arte lhes proporcionaram em diferentes momentos da vida. E por ambos é sublinhado como a história da expressão criativa está ligada à história da luta pela liberdade e pela democracia, uma luta que se insere numa visão da arte como fundamental recurso ao serviço da aspiração a um mundo mais feliz e fraterno. Os autores fazem ainda uma reflexão em torno da integração das artes e dos outros saberes, pois, se o objectivo final da educação é a ativação do potencial cognitivo do aluno, terá de haver maneiras de integração que evitem as perspectivas compartimentalizadas existentes. Por isso, no plano epistemológico, o artigo pretende constituir uma tentativa de interdisciplinaridade, algo julgado por todos como fundamental numa universidade, mas pouco posto em prática. No final, os autores desafiam o leitor para uma pedagogia crítica como orientação de outros saberes e também das artes

Reaching and grasping kitchenware objects

We integrate software components that allow ef- ficient and successful grasping of kitchenware objects. The contributed components include: The object pose detector, the gripper reaching motion and the grasp hypothesis selection. The object pose detector of Drost et. al. [10] is improved, considering rotationally symmetric objects. The reaching motion execution combines two independent dynamical systems: The approach direction system and its tangent space [21]. The coupling provides a robust reaching component that copes with several gripper configurations. The grasp hypothesis selection filters the object poses by considering the table orientation

Competências do enfermeiro na parada cardiorrespiratória

The aim was to identify, in the light of literature, the main competencies of nurses in the face of cardiorespiratory arrest. This is an integrative review of the literature, data were collected through the databases Higher Education Personnel Improvement Portal and Scientific Electronic Library Online, as they are electronic libraries/databases that bring together national and international studies of scientific relevance. The inclusion criteria were studies published in full between 2017 and 2022, in Portuguese, theses, dissertations and articles not consistent with the objective of the research were excluded. Nine articles were analyzed that met the inclusion criteria, among them nine were carried out in Brazil, four published in 2018, one in 2019 and four in 2021. After reading the full in selected studies, representative categories were chosen, namely: knowledge, communication, skills, attitudes, and values. Cardiovascular diseases occupy the first place in the mortality ranking in the world, the nurse is an essential professional in the pre-hospital urgency and emergency team, playing an extremely important role in the assistance provided based on skills.Objetivou-se identificar a luz da literatura as principais competências do enfermeiro frente à parada cardiorrespiratória. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, os dados foram coletados atraves das bases de dados Portal de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior e Scientific Electronic Library Online, pois se tratam de bibliotecas eletrônicas/bases de dados que reúnem estudos nacionais e internacionais de relevância cientifica. Os critérios de inclusão foram estudos publicados na integra entre 2017 e 2022, em português, foram excluidos teses, dissertação e artigos não condizentes com o objetivo da pesquisa. Analisou-se nove artigos que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão, dentre eles nove foram realizados no Brasil, quatro  publicados no ano de 2018, um em 2019 e quatro em 2021. Após a leitura na integra dos estudos selecionados, foram elecadas categorias representativas a saber: o conhecimento, a comunicação, as habilidades, atitudes e valores. As doenças cardiovasculares acupam o primeiro lugar no raking de mortalidade no mundo, o enfermeiro é um profissional indispensável na equipe de urgência e emergência pré-hospitalar possuindo um papel de extrema relevancia na assistencia prestada pautada em competências

Population wide testing pooling strategy for SARS-CoV-2 detection using saliva

SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has forced frequent testing of populations. It is necessary to identify the most cost-effective strategies for the detection of COVID-19 outbreaks. Nasopharyngeal samples have been used for SARS-CoV-2 detection but require a healthcare professional to collect the sample and cause discomfort and pain to the individual. Saliva has been suggested as an appropriate fluid for the diagnosis of COVID-19. We have investigated the possibility of using pools of saliva samples to detect SARS-CoV-2 in symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. Two hundred and seventy-nine saliva samples were analyzed through RT-PCR of Envelope, Nucleocapsid and Open Reading Frame 1ab genes. Reproducibility assays showed an almost perfect agreement as well as high sensitivity (96.6%), specificity (96.8%), positive predicted value (96.6%), and negative predicted value (96.8%). The average Cycle Threshold of the genes detected was 29.7. No significant differences (p > 0.05) were detected when comparing the cycle threshold average of two consecutive reactions on the same positive saliva samples. Saliva samples have a higher median viral load (32.6) than in nasopharyngeal samples (28.9), although no significant differences were detected (p > 0.05). Saliva-pool samples allowed effective SARS-CoV-2 screening, with a higher sensibility (96.9%) on 10-sample pools than in 20-sample pools (87.5%). Regardless of pools size specificity was high (99.9%) and an almost perfect agreement was observed. Our strategy was successfully applied in population wide testing of more than 2000 individuals, showing that it is possible to use pooled saliva as diagnostic fluid for SARS-CoV-2 infection.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
