Study of the influence of L-norvaline, rosuvastatin and their combination on the level of microcirculation in bone tissue in experimental osteoporosis and fractures on its background
The experiment was carried out in female white Wistar rats to investigate the effect of L-norvaline, rosuvastatin and their combination on parameters of blood supply to the bone tissue on models of experimental osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture
Study to elucidate the pharmacological activity of retinalamin in a rat model of ischemic retinopathy
Over the past few years, the incidence of retinal ischemic disorders has been increasing, due to a rising prevalence of such socially burdensome diseases as diabetes and hypertension, which ultimately lead to ocular vascular pathology. The identification of new treatment options that would prevent retinal neuron death is a crucial task of modern pharmacolog
Retinoprotective effects of non-selective imidazoline receptor agonists
Current drug therapy of ophtalmic diseases associated with retinal ischemia is not always successful enough that ensures the relevance of the search of new effective drug

Improved Constraints on Sterile Neutrino Mixing from Disappearance Searches in the MINOS, MINOS+, Daya Bay, and Bugey-3 Experiments.
Searches for electron antineutrino, muon neutrino, and muon antineutrino disappearance driven by sterile neutrino mixing have been carried out by the Daya Bay and MINOS+ collaborations. This Letter presents the combined results of these searches, along with exclusion results from the Bugey-3 reactor experiment, framed in a minimally extended four-neutrino scenario. Significantly improved constraints on the θ_{μe} mixing angle are derived that constitute the most constraining limits to date over five orders of magnitude in the mass-squared splitting Δm_{41}^{2}, excluding the 90% C.L. sterile-neutrino parameter space allowed by the LSND and MiniBooNE observations at 90% CL_{s} for Δm_{41}^{2}<13 eV^{2}. Furthermore, the LSND and MiniBooNE 99% C.L. allowed regions are excluded at 99% CL_{s} for Δm_{41}^{2}<1.6 eV^{2}
Helicity-dependent cross sections for the photoproduction of pairs from nucleons
The double-polarization observable and helicity-dependent cross sections
, have been measured for the photoproduction of
pairs off quasi-free protons and neutrons at the Mainz MAMI accelerator
with the Crystal Ball/TAPS setup. A circularly polarized photon beam was
produced by bremsstrahlung from longitudinally polarized electrons and impinged
on a longitudinally polarized deuterated butanol target. The reaction products
were detected with an almost covering calorimeter. The results reveal
for the first time the helicity- and isospin-dependent structure of the reaction. They are compared to predictions from
reaction models in view of nucleon resonance contributions and also to a refit
of one model that predicted results for the proton and for the neutron target.
The comparison of the prediction and the refit demonstrate the large impact of
the new data.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev. Let
Precision measurement of reactor antineutrino oscillation at kilometer-scale baselines by Daya Bay
We present a new determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle
and the mass-squared difference
using a final sample of inverse beta-decay (IBD)
candidates with the final-state neutron captured on gadolinium. This sample was
selected from the complete data set obtained by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino
experiment in 3158 days of operation. Compared to the previous Daya Bay
results, selection of IBD candidates has been optimized, energy calibration
refined, and treatment of backgrounds further improved. The resulting
oscillation parameters are ,
for
the normal mass ordering or for the inverted mass ordering.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, 1 table, 10 supplementary file
Radioactivity control strategy for the JUNO detector
602siopenJUNO is a massive liquid scintillator detector with a primary scientific goal of determining the neutrino mass ordering by studying the oscillated anti-neutrino flux coming from two nuclear power plants at 53 km distance. The expected signal anti-neutrino interaction rate is only 60 counts per day (cpd), therefore a careful control of the background sources due to radioactivity is critical. In particular, natural radioactivity present in all materials and in the environment represents a serious issue that could impair the sensitivity of the experiment if appropriate countermeasures were not foreseen. In this paper we discuss the background reduction strategies undertaken by the JUNO collaboration to reduce at minimum the impact of natural radioactivity. We describe our efforts for an optimized experimental design, a careful material screening and accurate detector production handling, and a constant control of the expected results through a meticulous Monte Carlo simulation program. We show that all these actions should allow us to keep the background count rate safely below the target value of 10 Hz (i.e. ∼1 cpd accidental background) in the default fiducial volume, above an energy threshold of 0.7 MeV. Potential of Core-Collapse Supernova Neutrino Detection at JUNO
JUNO is an underground neutrino observatory under construction in Jiangmen, China. It uses 20kton liquid scintillator as target, which enables it to detect supernova burst neutrinos of a large statistics for the next galactic core-collapse supernova (CCSN) and also pre-supernova neutrinos from the nearby CCSN progenitors. All flavors of supernova burst neutrinos can be detected by JUNO via several interaction channels, including inverse beta decay, elastic scattering on electron and proton, interactions on C12 nuclei, etc. This retains the possibility for JUNO to reconstruct the energy spectra of supernova burst neutrinos of all flavors. The real time monitoring systems based on FPGA and DAQ are under development in JUNO, which allow prompt alert and trigger-less data acquisition of CCSN events. The alert performances of both monitoring systems have been thoroughly studied using simulations. Moreover, once a CCSN is tagged, the system can give fast characterizations, such as directionality and light curve
Detection of the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background with JUNO
As an underground multi-purpose neutrino detector with 20 kton liquid scintillator, Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is competitive with and complementary to the water-Cherenkov detectors on the search for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB). Typical supernova models predict 2-4 events per year within the optimal observation window in the JUNO detector. The dominant background is from the neutral-current (NC) interaction of atmospheric neutrinos with 12C nuclei, which surpasses the DSNB by more than one order of magnitude. We evaluated the systematic uncertainty of NC background from the spread of a variety of data-driven models and further developed a method to determine NC background within 15\% with {\it{in}} {\it{situ}} measurements after ten years of running. Besides, the NC-like backgrounds can be effectively suppressed by the intrinsic pulse-shape discrimination (PSD) capabilities of liquid scintillators. In this talk, I will present in detail the improvements on NC background uncertainty evaluation, PSD discriminator development, and finally, the potential of DSNB sensitivity in JUNO
