Evaluating performance of web services in cloud computing environment with high availability
This paper presents an methodology for attaining high availability to the demands of the web clients. In order to improve in response time of web services during peak hours dynamic allocation of host nodes will be used in this research work. As web users are very demanding: they expect web services to be quickly accessible from the world 24*7. Fast response time leads to high availability of web services, while slow response time degrades the performance of web services. With the increasing trend of internet, it becomes a part of life. People use internet to help in their studies, business, shopping and many more things. To achieve this objective LAMP platform is used which are Linux, Apache, My SQL, and PHP. LAMP is used to increase the quality of product by using open source software. The proposed strategy will work as middle layer and provide highly availability to the web clients
Green Bitcoin: Global Sound Money
Modern societies have adopted government-issued fiat currencies many of which
exist today mainly in the form of digits in credit and bank accounts. Fiat
currencies are controlled by central banks for economic stimulation and
stabilization. Boom-and-bust cycles are created. The volatility of the cycle
has become increasingly extreme. Social inequality due to the concentration of
wealth is prevalent worldwide. As such, restoring sound money, which provides
stored value over time, has become a pressing issue. Currently,
cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin are in their infancy and may someday qualify
as sound money. Bitcoin today is considered as a digital asset for storing
value. But Bitcoin has problems. The first issue of the current Bitcoin network
is its high energy consumption consensus mechanism. The second is the
cryptographic primitives which are unsafe against post-quantum (PQ) attacks. We
aim to propose Green Bitcoin which addresses both issues. To save energy in
consensus mechanism, we introduce a post-quantum secure (self-election)
verifiable coin-toss function and novel PQ secure proof-of-computation
primitives. It is expected to reduce the rate of energy consumption more than
90 percent of the current Bitcoin network. The elliptic curve cryptography will
be replaced with PQ-safe versions. The Green Bitcoin protocol will help Bitcoin
evolve into a post-quantum secure network.Comment: 16 page
Diversity, abundance and pollination efficiency of insect pollinators of fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Miller) and effect of abiotic factors on insect pollinator activity
Biodiversity of insect pollinators on fennel cv. HF-143 (Foeniculum vulgare Miller), was studied in Hisar, Haryana, India. Twenty-five insect species belonging to fifteen families of five orders were recorded from fennel flowers, in which, seven belong to order Lepidoptera, nine to Hymenoptera, five to Diptera, three to Coleoptera and one to Odonata. Among the insect pollinators, Apis florea F., A. cerana indica F., A. mellifera L. and A. dorsata F. were the most frequent visitors. Among different bee species, the maximum mean population observed in case of A. florea (9.23 bees/m2/5 min) followed by A. mellifera (3.62 bees/m2/5 min) and A. dorsata (3.21 bees/m2/5 min), whereas, the least abundance was observed in case of A. cerana indica, i.e., 1.82 bees/m2/5 min. The pollination index of A. dorsata was highest (19715210) followed by A. florea (13888381), A. mellifera (13845052) and A. cerana (5586381). Hence, it was observed that A. dorsata was the most efficient pollinator followed by A. florea, A. mellifera and A. cerana on fennel cv. HF-143 flowers under agro ecological conditions of Hisar (Haryana). Hence, insect pollinators were essential to get good returns in this seed crop. The activity of different bee species on fennel varied with different abiotic factors and had significantly positive correlation with bright sun shine hours (BSS) and temperature (TEMP) in different hours of the day during foraging but had negative correlation with relative humidity (RH). It was observed that the effect of wind velocity on foraging of different bee species was not significant. Thus, the impact of abiotic environmental factors may decide the foraging activity of different insect pollinators
Classification and Analysis of Pistachio Species with Pre-Trained Deep Learning Models
Pistachio is a shelled fruit from the anacardiaceae family. The homeland of pistachio is the Middle East. The Kirmizi pistachios and Siirt pistachios are the major types grown and exported in Turkey. Since the prices, tastes, and nutritional values of these types differs, the type of pistachio becomes important when it comes to trade. This study aims to identify these two types of pistachios, which are frequently grown in Turkey, by classifying them via convolutional neural networks. Within the scope of the study, images of Kirmizi and Siirt pistachio types were obtained through the computer vision system. The pre-trained dataset includes a total of 2148 images, 1232 of Kirmizi type and 916 of Siirt type. Three different convolutional neural network models were used to classify these images. Models were trained by using the transfer learning method, with AlexNet and the pre-trained models VGG16 and VGG19. The dataset is divided as 80% training and 20% test. As a result of the performed classifications, the success rates obtained from the AlexNet, VGG16, and VGG19 models are 94.42%, 98.84%, and 98.14%, respectively. Models’ performances were evaluated through sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F-1 score metrics. In addition, ROC curves and AUC values were used in the performance evaluation. The highest classification success was achieved with the VGG16 model. The obtained results reveal that these methods can be used successfully in the determination of pistachio types
Some dynamical problems in micropolar elasticity
