    El presente trabajo es una propuesta de Supply Chain, la cual es un conjunto de actividades planificadas y coordinadas que están enfocadas en mejorar distintos aspectos de la gestión de cadenas de suministro de la empresa seleccionada, buscando fortalecer la eficiencia, reducir costos operativos, mejorar la calidad del servicio y garantizar la satisfacción del cliente, todo esto impulsado por el progresivo y constante avance de la tecnología, la cual termina influyendo de manera directa en las líneas de gestión de suministro, por lo tanto, como parte de la propuesta primero se realiza un análisis exhaustivo de los problemas y desafíos actuales de la empresa de estudio Jm Impresores. Una vez establecidos los objetivos y las estrategias, se lleva a cabo una gestión efectiva de los recursos, los cuales adquieren mayor valor y consideración dentro de las empresas, debido al consumismo del mercado, ya que cada vez es más globalizado y competitivo, en la lucha constante por mejorar el mercado en general cada día se hace mucho más fuerte. En esta propuesta se promueve la implementación de distintas actividades, con el fin de mejorar los resultados de la empresa, como la evaluación y selección de proveedores, la optimización de los procesos de producción y distribución, la gestión de inventarios, así como el diseño de una nueva distribución de la empresa (layout), lo anterior, en busca de mejorar la eficacia y rentabilidad de la cadena de suministro, al mismo tiempo garantizando el cumplimento de las necesidades del cliente.The present work is a proposal for a supply chain, which consists of a set of planned and coordinated activities focused on improving various aspects of supply chain management of the selected company, aiming to strengthen efficiency, reduce operational costs, improve service quality, and ensure customer satisfaction. This is driven by the progressive and constant advancement of technology, which directly influences supply chain management lines. Therefore, as part of the proposal, a thorough analysis of the current problems and challenges of the study company Jm Impresores is first conducted. Once the objectives and strategies are established, effective resource management is carried out, which acquires greater value and consideration within companies due to market consumerism, which is increasingly globalized and competitive, in the constant struggle to improve the market in general. This proposal promotes the implementation of various activities to improve the company's results, such as supplier evaluation and selection, optimization of production and distribution processes, inventory management, as well as the design of a new company layout, all aimed at improving the effectiveness and profitability of the supply chain, while ensuring customer needs are met

    Unearthing the soil-borne microbiome of land plants

    DATA AVAILABILITY STATEMENT : Data from this manuscript is available at 10.6084/m9.figshare.25254673.Plant–soil biodiversity interactions are fundamental for the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems. Yet, the existence of a set of globally distributed topsoil microbial and small invertebrate organisms consistently associated with land plants (i.e., their consistent soil-borne microbiome), together with the environmental preferences and functional capabilities of these organisms, remains unknown. We conducted a standardized field survey under 150 species of land plants, including 58 species of bryophytes and 92 of vascular plants, across 124 locations from all continents. We found that, despite the immense biodiversity of soil organisms, the land plants evaluated only shared a small fraction (less than 1%) of all microbial and invertebrate taxa that were present across contrasting climatic and soil conditions and vegetation types. These consistent taxa were dominated by generalist decomposers and phagotrophs and their presence was positively correlated with the abundance of functional genes linked to mineralization. Finally, we showed that crossing environmental thresholds in aridity (aridity index of 0.65, i.e., the transition from mesic to dry ecosystems), soil pH (5.5; i.e., the transition from acidic to strongly acidic soils), and carbon (less than 2%, the lower limit of fertile soils) can result in drastic disruptions in the associations between land plants and soil organisms, with potential implications for the delivery of soil ecosystem processes under ongoing global environmental change.British Ecological Society; Slovenian Research Agency; Junta de Andalucía; Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.http://www.wileyonlinelibrary.com/journal/gcbhj2024BiochemistryGeneticsMicrobiology and Plant PathologySDG-15:Life on lan

    The global contribution of soil mosses to ecosystem services

Experiments and observations suggest that they contribute to terrestrial soil biodiversity and function, yet their ecological contribution to soil has never been assessed globally under natural conditions. Here we conducted the most comprehensive global standardized field study to quantify how soil mosses influence 8 ecosystem services associated with 24 soil biodiversity and functional attributes across wide environmental gradients from all continents. We found that soil mosses are associated with greater carbon sequestration, pool sizes for key nutrients and organic matter decomposition rates but a lower proportion of soil-borne plant pathogens than unvegetated soils. Mosses are especially important for supporting multiple ecosystem services where vascular-plant cover is low. Globally, soil mosses potentially support 6.43 Gt more carbon in the soil layer than do bare soils. The amount of soil carbon associated with mosses is up to six times the annual global carbon emissions from any altered land use globally. The largest positive contribution of mosses to soils occurs under perennial, mat and turf mosses, in less-productive ecosystems and on sandy soils.     Rationale, design, and baseline characteristics in Evaluation of LIXisenatide in Acute Coronary Syndrome, a long-term cardiovascular end point trial of lixisenatide versus placebo

    BACKGROUND: Cardiovascular (CV) disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Furthermore, patients with T2DM and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) have a particularly high risk of CV events. The glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist, lixisenatide, improves glycemia, but its effects on CV events have not been thoroughly evaluated. METHODS: ELIXA (www.clinicaltrials.gov no. NCT01147250) is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multicenter study of lixisenatide in patients with T2DM and a recent ACS event. The primary aim is to evaluate the effects of lixisenatide on CV morbidity and mortality in a population at high CV risk. The primary efficacy end point is a composite of time to CV death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, or hospitalization for unstable angina. Data are systematically collected for safety outcomes, including hypoglycemia, pancreatitis, and malignancy. RESULTS: Enrollment began in July 2010 and ended in August 2013; 6,068 patients from 49 countries were randomized. Of these, 69% are men and 75% are white; at baseline, the mean ± SD age was 60.3 ± 9.7 years, body mass index was 30.2 ± 5.7 kg/m(2), and duration of T2DM was 9.3 ± 8.2 years. The qualifying ACS was a myocardial infarction in 83% and unstable angina in 17%. The study will continue until the positive adjudication of the protocol-specified number of primary CV events. CONCLUSION: ELIXA will be the first trial to report the safety and efficacy of a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist in people with T2DM and high CV event risk

    Evaluation of a quality improvement intervention to reduce anastomotic leak following right colectomy (EAGLE): pragmatic, batched stepped-wedge, cluster-randomized trial in 64 countries

    Background Anastomotic leak affects 8 per cent of patients after right colectomy with a 10-fold increased risk of postoperative death. The EAGLE study aimed to develop and test whether an international, standardized quality improvement intervention could reduce anastomotic leaks. Methods The internationally intended protocol, iteratively co-developed by a multistage Delphi process, comprised an online educational module introducing risk stratification, an intraoperative checklist, and harmonized surgical techniques. Clusters (hospital teams) were randomized to one of three arms with varied sequences of intervention/data collection by a derived stepped-wedge batch design (at least 18 hospital teams per batch). Patients were blinded to the study allocation. Low- and middle-income country enrolment was encouraged. The primary outcome (assessed by intention to treat) was anastomotic leak rate, and subgroup analyses by module completion (at least 80 per cent of surgeons, high engagement; less than 50 per cent, low engagement) were preplanned. Results A total 355 hospital teams registered, with 332 from 64 countries (39.2 per cent low and middle income) included in the final analysis. The online modules were completed by half of the surgeons (2143 of 4411). The primary analysis included 3039 of the 3268 patients recruited (206 patients had no anastomosis and 23 were lost to follow-up), with anastomotic leaks arising before and after the intervention in 10.1 and 9.6 per cent respectively (adjusted OR 0.87, 95 per cent c.i. 0.59 to 1.30; P = 0.498). The proportion of surgeons completing the educational modules was an influence: the leak rate decreased from 12.2 per cent (61 of 500) before intervention to 5.1 per cent (24 of 473) after intervention in high-engagement centres (adjusted OR 0.36, 0.20 to 0.64; P < 0.001), but this was not observed in low-engagement hospitals (8.3 per cent (59 of 714) and 13.8 per cent (61 of 443) respectively; adjusted OR 2.09, 1.31 to 3.31). Conclusion Completion of globally available digital training by engaged teams can alter anastomotic leak rates. Registration number: NCT04270721 (http://www.clinicaltrials.gov)
