    On admissible tensor products in pp-adic Hodge theory

    We prove that if WW and W′W' are two BB-pairs whose tensor product is crystalline (or semi-stable or de Rham or Hodge-Tate), then there exists a character μ\mu such that W(μ−1)W(\mu^{-1}) and W′(μ)W'(\mu) are crystalline (or semi-stable or de Rham or Hodge-Tate). We also prove that if WW is a BB-pair and FF is a Schur functor (for example \Sym^n(-) or Λn(−)\Lambda^n(-)) such that F(W)F(W) is crystalline (or semi-stable or de Rham or Hodge-Tate) and if the rank of WW is sufficiently large, then there is a character μ\mu such that W(μ−1)W(\mu^{-1}) is crystalline (or semi-stable or de Rham or Hodge-Tate).     Role of serotonin in central dopamine dysfunction

    The interaction between serotonin (5-HT) and dopamine (DA)-containing neurons in the brain is a research topic that has raised the interest of many scientists working in the field of neuroscience since the first demonstration of the presence of monoamine-containing neurons in the mid 1960. The bulk of neuroanatomical data available clearly indicate that DA-containing neurons in the brain receive a prominent innervation from serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) originating in the raphe nuclei of the brainstem. Compelling electrophysiological and neurochemical data show that 5-HT can exert complex effects on the activity of midbrain DA neurons mediated by its various receptor subtypes. The main control seems to be inhibitory, this effect being more marked in the mesocorticolimbic DA system as compared to the DA nigrostriatal system. In spite of a direct effect of 5-HT by its receptors located on DA cells, 5-HT can modulate their activity indirectly, modifying γ-aminobutyric (GABA)-ergic and glutamatergic input to the ventral tegmental area (VTA) and substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc). Although 5-HT/DA interaction in the brain has been extensively studied, much work remains to be done to clarify this issue. The recent development of subtype-selective ligands for 5-HT receptors will not only allow a detailed understanding of this interaction but also will lead to the development of new treatment strategies, appropriate for those neuropsychiatric disorders in which an alteration of the 5-HT/DA balance is supposed.peer-reviewe

    Carbon Dioxide + Fluoromethane and Nitrous Oxide + Fluoromethane: Solid−Liquid Equilibria Measurements

    A recently built experimental setup was employed for the estimation of the solid-liquid equilibria (SLE) of alternative refrigerant systems. The behavior of two binaries, that is, carbon dioxide + fluoromethane (CO2 + R41) and nitrous oxide + fluoromethane (N2O + R41), was measured down to temperatures of 126.5 K. To confirm the reliability of the apparatus, the triple points of the pure fluids constituent of the binary systems were measured. All triple-point data measured revealed a generally good consistency with the literature. The results obtained for the mixtures were corrected by the Rossini method and interpreted by means of the Schröder equation. © 2010 American Chemical Society

    Anisotropic Effects of Oxygen Vacancies on Electrochromic Properties and Conductivity of γ\gamma-Monoclinic WO3_3

    Tungsten trioxide (WO3_3) is a paradigmatic electrochromic material, whose peculiar optical properties in the presence of oxygen vacancies or intercalated alkali atoms have been observed and investigated for a long time. In this paper we propose a rationalization of experiments based on first-principles calculations of optical and electrical properties of oxygen deficient (reduced) WO3_3. Our approach is based on a parameter-free dielectric-dependent hybrid density functional methodology, used in combination with the charge transition levels formalism, for studying excitation mechanisms in the presence of defects. Our results indicate that oxygen vacancies lead to a different physics in γ\gamma-monoclinic WO3_3, depending on the orientation of the W-O-W chain where the vacancy is created, thus evidencing strong anisotropic effects rooted in the peculiar structural properties of the original nondefective monoclinic cell. Different types of oxygen vacancies can hence be classified on the basis of the calculated ground state properties, electronic structure, and excitation/emission energies, giving a satisfactory explanation to a range of experimental observations made on oxygen deficient WO3_3.Comment: Accepted for publication in J.     Specifications of view services for GMES Core_003 VHR2 coverage

    For the so-called DataWareHouse concept (DWH) within the GMES Initial Operations period 2011-2014, data access management is funded through a Delegation Agreement between the EC and ESA. The Core_003 VHR2 dataset is one of the satellite coverages that are defined as CORE datasets within the DWH with fixed specifications which will be of-fered to a broad range of users and activities. JRC was asked by DG Enterprise to provide technical specifications for the implementation of a view service for the Core_003 datasets as part of the Administrative Arrangement n. 5 between DG Enterprise and JRC. This report provides an overview about different view service types with their specific characteristics and use cases. Since compliance with INSPIRE implementing rules is a goal to be achieved by GMES services, the spe-cific requirements of INSPIRE for view services have been taken into account. The Core_003 datasets have been ana-lysed with regard to their parameters that are important for the inclusion in view services.
