Oral hygiene refers to the practice of keeping the mouth, teeth and gums clean and healthy to prevent oral disease. Oral hygiene is often taken for granted but it is essential part of our daily life.Oral hygiene is the practice of maintaining a clean oral cavity to prevent dental diseases such as dental cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis and bad breath. A total of 150 cricketers were involved in the study . Self administered questionnaire related to the oral hygiene practices along with sociodemographic details was prepared and it was distributed through an online survey link. Based on hypotonic and isotonic content of the sports drink , the majority of the participants(58.7%) prefer isotonic sports drinks and the remaining participants( 41.3%) prefer Hypotonic .About 58% of participants eat chocolate regularly. 54.6% of participants agreed that dental erosion affects oral health . 56% of participants think oral health has an impact on sports performance. In the present study, the knowledge, attitude and practice of oral hygiene is moderate. For further improvement, awareness about maintaining good oral health should be created among the public. Erosion can be prevented by educating the subjects about the risks associated with carbonated drinks which is more common among sportsmen and young adults

This suggested control techniques devote themselves not just to the present loop control but additionally towards the electricity capacitor current control. According to the current loop control, a nonlinear controller in line with the passivity-based control (PBC) theory can be used within this cascaded structure STATCOM the very first time. This paper presents a transformerless static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) system according to multilevel H-bridge ripper tools with star configuration. Regarding the electricity capacitor current control, overall current control is recognized by adopting a proportional resonant controller. The experimental results prove that H-bridge cascaded STATCOM using the suggested control techniques has excellent dynamic performance and powerful sturdiness. The electricity capacitor current could be maintained in the given value effectively. Clustered balancing control is acquired while on an active disturbances rejection controller. Individual balancing control is accomplished by shifting the modulation wave up and down which may be easily implemented inside a field-programmable gate array. Two actual H-bridge cascaded STATCOMs ranked at 10 kV 2 MVA are built and a number of verification exams are performed

Optical Properties of (162173) 1999 JU3: In Preparation for the JAXA Hayabusa 2 Sample Return Mission

We investigated the magnitude-phase relation of (162173) 1999 JU3, a target asteroid for the JAXA Hayabusa 2 sample return mission. We initially employed the international Astronomical Union's H-G formalism but found that it fits less well using a single set of parameters. To improve the inadequate fit, we employed two photometric functions, the Shevchenko and Hapke functions. With the Shevchenko function, we found that the magnitude-phase relation exhibits linear behavior in a wide phase angle range (alpha = 5-75 deg) and shows weak nonlinear opposition brightening at alpha< 5 deg, providing a more reliable absolute magnitude of Hv = 19.25 +- 0.03. The phase slope (0.039 +- 0.001 mag/deg) and opposition effect amplitude (parameterized by the ratio of intensity at alpha=0.3 deg to that at alpha=5 deg, I(0.3)/I(5)=1.31+-0.05) are consistent with those of typical C-type asteroids. We also attempted to determine the parameters for the Hapke model, which are applicable for constructing the surface reflectance map with the Hayabusa 2 onboard cameras. Although we could not constrain the full set of Hapke parameters, we obtained possible values, w=0.041, g=-0.38, B0=1.43, and h=0.050, assuming a surface roughness parameter theta=20 deg. By combining our photometric study with a thermal model of the asteroid (Mueller et al. in preparation), we obtained a geometric albedo of pv = 0.047 +- 0.003, phase integral q = 0.32 +- 0.03, and Bond albedo AB = 0.014 +- 0.002, which are commensurate with the values for common C-type asteroids.Comment: 27 pages, 4 figure, accepted for publication in the Astrophysical Journa

Modelling Chlamydia and HPV co-infection in patient-derived ectocervix organoids reveals distinct cellular reprogramming

Coinfections with pathogenic microbes continually confront cervical mucosa, yet their implications in pathogenesis remain unclear. Lack of in-vitro models recapitulating cervical epithelium has been a bottleneck to study coinfections. Using patient-derived ectocervical organoids, we systematically modeled individual and coinfection dynamics of Human papillomavirus (HPV)16 E6E7 and Chlamydia, associated with carcinogenesis. The ectocervical stem cells were genetically manipulated to introduce E6E7 oncogenes to mimic HPV16 integration. Organoids from these stem cells develop the characteristics of precancerous lesions while retaining the self-renewal capacity and organize into mature stratified epithelium similar to healthy organoids. HPV16 E6E7 interferes with Chlamydia development and induces persistence. Unique transcriptional and post-translational responses induced by Chlamydia and HPV lead to distinct reprogramming of host cell processes. Strikingly, Chlamydia impedes HPV-induced mechanisms that maintain cellular and genome integrity, including mismatch repair in the stem cells. Together, our study employing organoids demonstrates the hazard of multiple infections and the unique cellular microenvironment they create, potentially contributing to neoplastic progression

The Clinical Impact of Copy Number Variants in Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes

Inherited bone marrow failure syndromes (IBMFSs) comprise a genetically heterogeneous group of diseases with hematopoietic failure and a wide array of physical malformations. Copy number variants (CNVs) were reported in some IBMFSs. It is unclear what impact CNVs play in patients evaluated for a suspected diagnosis of IBMFS. Clinical and genetic data of 323 patients from the Canadian Inherited Marrow Failure Registry from 2001 to 2014, who had a documented genetic work-up, were analyzed. Cases with pathogenic CNVs (at least 1 kilobasepairs) were compared to cases with other mutations. Genotype-phenotype correlations were performed to assess the impact of CNVs. Pathogenic nucleotide-level mutations were found in 157 of 303 tested patients (51.8%). Genome-wide CNV analysis by single nucleotide polymorphism arrays or comparative genomic hybridization arrays revealed pathogenic CNVs in 11 of 67 patients tested (16.4%). In four of these patients, identification of CNV was crucial for establishing the correct diagnosis as their clinical presentation was ambiguous. Eight additional patients were identified to harbor pathogenic CNVs by other methods. Of the 19 patients with pathogenic CNVs, four had compound-heterozygosity of a CNV with a nucleotide-level mutation. Pathogenic CNVs were associated with more extensive non-hematological organ system involvement

Objectives The aim of this study was to quantify the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on pediatric emergency department (ED) utilization and outcomes. Methods This study is an interrupted-Time-series observational study of children presenting to 11 Canadian tertiary-care pediatric EDs. Data were grouped into weeks in 3 study periods: prepandemic (January 1, 2018-January 27, 2020), peripandemic (January 28, 2020-March 10, 2020), and early pandemic (March 11, 2020-April 30, 2020). These periods were compared with the same time intervals in the 2 preceding calendar years. Primary outcomes were number of ED visits per week. The secondary outcomes were triage acuity, hospitalization, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, mortality, length of hospital stay, ED revisits, and visits for trauma and mental health concerns. Results There were 577,807 ED visits (median age, 4.5 years; 52.9% male). Relative to the prepandemic period, there was a reduction [-58%; 95% confidence interval (CI),-63% to-51%] in the number of ED visits during the early-pandemic period, with concomitant higher acuity. There was a concurrent increase in the proportion of ward [odds ratio (OR), 1.39; 95% CI, 1.32-1.45] and intensive care unit (OR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.01-1.42) admissions, and trauma-related ED visits among children less than 10 years (OR, 1.51; 95% CI, 1.45-1.56). Mental health-related visits in children declined in the early-pandemic period (in \u3c10 years,-60%; 95% CI,-67% to-51%; in children ≥10 years:-56%; 95% CI,-63% to-47%) relative to the pre-COVID-19 period. There were no differences in mortality or length of stay; however, ED revisits within 72 hours were reduced during the early-pandemic period (percent change:-55%; 95% CI,-61% to-49%; P \u3c 0.001). Conclusions After the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic, dramatic reductions in pediatric ED visits occurred across Canada. Children seeking ED care were sicker, and there was an increase in trauma-related visits among children more than 10 years of age, whereas mental health visits declined during the early-pandemic period. When faced with a future pandemic, public health officials must consider the impact of the illness and the measures implemented on children\u27s health and acute care needs

Geospatial Resolution of Human and Bacterial Diversity with City-Scale Metagenomics

The panoply of microorganisms and other species present in our environment influence human health and disease, especially in cities, but have not been profiled with metagenomics at a city-wide scale. We sequenced DNA from surfaces across the entire New York City (NYC) subway system, the Gowanus Canal, and public parks. Nearly half of the DNA (48%) does not match any known organism; identified organisms spanned 1,688 bacterial, viral, archaeal, and eukaryotic taxa, which were enriched for harmless genera associated with skin (e.g., Acinetobacter). Predicted ancestry of human DNA left on subway surfaces can recapitulate U.S. Census demographic data, and bacterial signatures can reveal a station’s history, such as marine-associated bacteria in a hurricane-flooded station. Some evidence of pathogens was found (Bacillus anthracis), but a lack of reported cases in NYC suggests that the pathogens represent a normal, urban microbiome. This baseline metagenomic map of NYC could help long-term disease surveillance, bioterrorism threat mitigation, and health management in the built environment of citie

In the different points of the decision making proccess, a buyer who uses more than one channel is referred as multi-channel customer. Then, a buyer who includes only single choice in his shopping process is referred as single channel buyer. This study analyzed channel choice conduct utilizing a Theory of Planned Behavior by impacts in community pharmacy, e-Pharmacy, and Multi-channel. Also, it recommends omnichannel strategies for community pharmacies A self-regulated questionnaire was utilized (N = 426) to understand consumer channel choice across the channels. The initial step of the two-stage analysis comprises of the evaluation of the outer model. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test the underlying structural Equation model. The CFA was completed using the SmartPLS 3. The evaluation showed that the TPB was significant and found subjective norms was effective across the channels. The distinction between single and multichannel is explained with the context to community pharmacy, e-Pharmacy, and Multi-channel. This Study sets the ground for collaborates in the medical services and Pharmaceuticals to improve their understanding of what drives to purchase in different channels. Furnished with this information, advertisers and healthcare experts could design and execute their promoting methodology more effectively
